The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.
Character name: Needleleap How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribe's plot:
Thistleclan : Growing up surrounded by high standards oppressing and smothering her, Needleleap will start out as a highly independent and critical cat to grow up with. The she-cat certainly doesn't hold back any words, even when she's in a good mood. This hostility stems from an unstable self-image that defines itself by her day-to-day experiences. Her independence will also foster a very close-minded view, both towards others outside of her clan and towards herself. This will make her seem rather disdainful at first glance.
In terms of leadership, I can see Needleleap (unconsciously) inheriting her mother's frustrations with the leadership. Much of her hidden frustrations from Thievingstar's leadership will come to the surface when she learns about the Tribe Cat on their shores. Hasn't Thistleclan had enough trouble with outsider cats to begin with? Expect her to have some strong prejudices against rogues outside the clan, and in turn herself. This bias does not necessarily carry to rogue-blooded cats in their clan. (e.g. pine, spark)
Family Needleleap isn't on the best terms with her family. She resents her rogue blood, seeing it as a curse that directly led to her mauled leg. She hates feeling smothered by her family, especially now of all times. She doesn't understand why her mom even cares to help her improve her physical condition when she's been so cold towards her her entire life. She will likely give her family the cold shoulder, Swfitsight for her neglect and selfishness, Nettlesting for his role in the war which she wanted so badly.
What are your personal plans for the character:
Needleleap's plot towards Thistleclan is very much "don't judge me by my cover." Clan duties are an opportunity for her to work through her insecurities and form a more stable self-image. Determined to work past her disability, she will strive towards maintaining a growth mindset within her clanmates, instead of a fixed one. It's hard for someone to grow if they believe they're stuck, after all. Besides working on physical growth, I also want Needleleap to work towards becoming more outgoing and accepting towards her clanmates, and the advice they give. (Basically going from harsh and closed-minded to a more open-minded headspace.) I think that this will benefit Needle in two ways; it'll allow her to become more patient as well as work towards accepting her anger in a more constructive way. In short, I want her to find closure with her past (and her family) so that it will no longer weigh on her consciousness.
Moving on from the snow-storm, Needleleap is determined to go the extra mile for her clan despite being relegated to light physical activities. On her feet day in, day out will likely put her at greater risk for burnout. This is another area in which communication with her clanmates becomes essential; I want her to feel more comfortable searching for different methods that solve each task she faces efficiently.
If she cannot aid her clan physically, then she sure as hell can make it up in intellect. Quite and brooding as a snake in the grass, I want Needleleap to turn into a cat who can pull her weight mentally as well as physically. It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for after all. The she-cat will frequently listen in on the gossip of her clanmates, often without their knowing, and then use her knowledge like playing cards. Carefully, she will build intricate networks of knowledge with other cats. This also goes with relationships. Needleleap will likely have few friends, and will struggle with private insecurities connected to her cutthroat chlidhood.
Plot name: LichenClan Representative Your character name: Shadowface How will this character fulfill the current plot's needs:
Shadowface is a good choice for the negotiation with the tunnelers. She spent many moons with those cats while she was in hiding, so they [presumably] trust her and she trusts them. She prioritizes the good of the island above all, and will have that very intention when she meets with them.
In the light of a new lot in her life, with the rebellion over and won, Shadowface seeks purpose. She's stayed still and quiet for long enough so she'll be constantly working to secure a better future for her Clan. But it goes beyond the walls of LichenClan. The good of the entire island is important. It's always been her perspective that each Clan is of equal importance, since that first flicker of rebellion sparked in her eyes. She feels compelled by StarClan to keep peace and prevent destruction still. She knows there will be more from where Minnowstar came from; different tyrants rising from the ashes of war, discord that leads to lives lost. One choice, one back turned, could leave a Clan in shambles.
When she realizes she has the opportunity to fulfill this purpose in a completely neutral way, she will part from LichenClan and descend into the tunnels once more - this time of her own free will. Though it wouldn't be easy, she has her Clan's best interests at heart. While she loves LichenClan, she has great compassion for all the cats that live on the island.
Shadowface's training wouldn't need to be extensive. She spent a lot of time with these cats of the black lagoon. She's learned their ways and is already acclimated to life underground. So acclimated, in fact, that she is more comfortable there than above ground. Still, the history intrigues her and she will attentively soak up every bit of the island's oldest-kept secrets. It will grant her greater understanding, which she won't take for granted. She will teach these lessons to the Clans, that they might learn from their ancestors by this means. She will teach future generations of neutral warriors, that they might continue to provide such counsel and continue to carve the higher path.
Plot name: Lichenclan Tunnel Cat Representative Your character name:Sagefrost How will this character fulfill the current plot's needs: Born and raised in war, Sagefrost is a productive of the environment she was submerged in all her life. She is a scar-covered, tough she-cat who thrilled in throwing herself into whatever fight came her way for the sake of what she believed was Starclan's will. She was a staunch believer in Minnowstar and believed the Heron blood to be chosen for a reason by the stars themselves to lead what is the holiest of clans. After Minnowstar's death, Lichenclan became an unknown place for her - the once war-focused life she knew now switched to talks of peace and prosperity across the island.
While many have started the process of moving on from the season's long conflict, Sagefrost now struggles more than ever with her self-identity and purpose. Her daily fight has now become an internal one and as she looks for meaning, her journey to find the truth of Starclan and its involvement in the development of Lichenclan will become her obsession. Driven by a need to find answers, Sagefrost will work hard to swallow her pride and join the very tunnel cats she fought against so diligently in the war.
If they find her worthy, she will do her best to discover meaning near the lagoon and seek out the Dark Forest in an attempt to prevent its return. It is through this new direction in her life that Sagefrost either discovers the true Starclan she has always been searching for or succumbs to the evil she hopes to eradicate as her life takes on a more spiritual perspective.
She will be direct and honest with her feelings and though she will try to remain objective and neutral, Sagefrost will never truly shake her bias for Lichenclan and its needs. If tensions on the island escalate once more, her position as a tunnel cat may come into question and a forced departure from its depths may be a possible plot point in her future.
how will this character fulfill the current plot's needs:
Laurel has been a dedicated supporter of Sumac for some time now. The two fought alongside each other when Fog led a patrol of cats to attempt to exterminate the coyotes. At this time, Laurel had still been on the fence about fully supporting Sumac, but the patrol's failure convinced him that Fog was too reckless and brash to lead the tribe. After the disastrous patrol, Laurel grew closer with the likes of other prey-hunters who were either quietly or vocally supportive of Sumac. He watched amid the crowd when Sumac first decried Fog, had spoken out in agreement after the coyote patrol and then when he announced his ascension and first decree as Teller, Laurel remained there, hanging on every word. Eventually, Laurel and Sumac became closer and he joined Fire, Marigold and Burrow in followers who were given permission to deal out punishments to dissenters. Most recently, Sumac revealed to Laurel that he was no true Teller and Laurel swore to keep this secret.
I think Laurel would be an interesting candidate for the position as he is a highly dedicated and vocal supporter of the current leadership (as well as one who believes in and can actively push the prey-hunter/stone-guard divide) while also being a character who would fumble greatly in this position and therefore create conflict within the tribe. Laurel is introverted and pretentious, making him someone who would blunder awkwardly when confronted by the stone-guards he is meant to be representing and leading. He talks and looks down upon them and their work and this would absolutely raise issues as he would step into the role and be entirely dismissive of their opinions, perhaps even going as far as to try and change the way they do things. However, Laurel finds himself a teacher at heart and has an incredibly large soft spot for the youth of the tribe and would be/is willing to turn a blind eye to his given orders when it comes to them. OR perhaps, he could be involved/caught in the potential scandal of “failing” to-bes on stone-guard assessments, depending on if anyone would be interested in something like that...
I could see him fumbling for the six moons that he is appointed and then attempting to step down gracefully/handing the title back to Talon.
Laurel has been approved for the role: Talon's Replacement. You may start plotting to move him into this plot. let wish know if you have any questions.
Plot Name: Tunnel Clan Representative [ThistleClan] Your Character Name: Fernheart How will this character fulfill the current plot’s needs:
Son of Cinderfeather and Blazingstorm, although born the runt of his litter and more possessing of his mother’s temperament, upon reaching his sixth moon, Fernheart has gone to great lengths to exceed the low expectations thrust upon him from birth. Proving himself an able pupil under the tutelage of Willowshine, a kithood bereft of courage has since become a matter of the past as he further honed his skills in combat and hunting. However, despite his budding prowess and expectations for an early ascension into his warrior title, his family's sudden degradation and his father's perceived abandonment brought a halt to his progress.
Growing despondent as his mother’s health declined, moons spent eagerly attending his lessons were cast aside in favor of neglecting his duties and finding solace in solitude, and his warrior ceremony, rather than arriving early into his training, was made late. What promise he had once had to surpass his father’s renown was lost, and since, he has grown aimless.
As a warrior, Fernheart has slowly shifted back into the cat he once was. Refusing to allow the broken remnants of his family to steer the course of his life, he has found comfort and meaning in the company of friends and distant relatives, yet still feels the hole in his heart where their presence was once hole. Still desperate to make a name for himself and find the purpose he has always desired, when news spreads of Vega’s request proceeding the events of the gathering, Fernheart will personally speak with Stagstar, requesting that he might go.
Believing he has no further purpose within the Clan and wanting to make a name for himself without the reminders of his family, Fernheart expresses the desire to start afresh while still serving his family and protecting his loved ones by paving a path to peace for the island, expressing the want to use his skills which he has garnered through moons of training not to harm mindlessly but to bring an island fragmented by old wars and lost traditions into one.
Fernheart can find a new place of belonging by joining the Tunnel Cats. He will be adamant about learning their ways and finding comfort in their familial habits, even, in time, coming to look upon them as if they were the family he never had. Growing closer to him will make him more adamant about adopting their ways, and the desire to expand the family and treat all those within the faction as equals will pervade his every move. He will come to understand the traditions, beliefs, and customs of the other factions and use these learnings to guide peace during negotiations and smooth ruffled furs where possible, making a vow to never unsheathe his claws but for the sake of sparing lives.
Shadowface has been approved for the role: LichenClan tunnel rep. You may start plotting to move him into this plot. let wish know if you have any questions.

Member name: Emolu Character name: Tornpelt How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribe's plot: Tornpelt views the current state of affairs with a certain skepticism only because actions up until this point have caused the death of both of his parents and are now trying to impose new rules upon him via a more strict view on the warrior code. Learning from Nettlesting earlier in his apprenticeship that the clan used to take in rogues to make the clan stronger; he isn't understanding of why the clan can't make peace with the rogues in a way to benefit the whole clan instead of continuously driving them off and creating challenges and tension with the non-clan cats.
He doesn't believe in Starclan, though he hopes his parents went somewhere safe and are happy together. This causes an overall skepticism towards the medicine cats and any prophetic notes they take in regards to the clan. He is active in his jeers their direction.
What are your personal plans for the character: I see Tornpelt and Smallstorm's relationship getting a lot worse before it gets better. I think Tornpelt struggles to understand Smallstorm's view on him needing to 'grow up' while he subconsciously is using his flirting and over mischievious nature as a coping mechanism for his parent's deaths. I imagine at some time they will have a giant blow up over the fact that Tornpelt was not there the night that his father died and that Smallstorm questions his reasoning. Whether or not that conversation causes the collapse of their relationship as siblings is to be seen, but I imagine he will not take lightly to being insinuated as playing a role in his father's death.
I would love to see him continue his flirtacious nature for a while to come, eventually possibly running into an issue of woo-ing females outside of his own clan or being tempted to. Once he begins to settle into himself or more of his own goals, I could see him eventually attempting to settle down with a mate, but it would take a lot of convicing.
I would also love to see him form somewhat of his own kind of 'gang' within Thistleclan, or a group of toms he frequently hangs out with during his bachelor-hood, especially with his lingering sister over his head about his view on she-cats. He would rely on these close confidants for some of his more extreme views on the way the clan is being run as well as someone to just share and partake in his antics.
Member name: grasshopper Character name: Smallstorm How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribe's plot: I think Smallstorm would certainly align with the Fighter plot path, especially since she would harbor a hatred for rogues as they're responsible for the 3 deaths of the cats she held dear. She also has that need to prove herself and inherited her mother's temper. She will constantly be looking for validation of her competence as a warrior and opportunities to demonstrate her worth, mostly to herself. This will be something that she constantly feels the need to feed.
She will be indifferent to the warrior code. She can get behind some of it, but will be hesitant towards rules that place limitations on her personal interests. I don't think she will believe in Starclan. She can acknowledge omens and will listen to her medicine cats, but her rejection will be mostly internal. Perhaps she'll find her own faith in time, but I think this is unlikely at the moment. The anger she holds partially extends to Starclan too.
Having been close to Theivingstar's death, she will hold the successing leader under a more critical eye, though she will have appreciation for his plans to adopt more reactive measures to their invader problem.
Of course, her past is a big part of her and defined a lot of her personality but she will not be defined by the trauma she experienced. Her role in the clan will not be a passive one. She will be outspoken and firm, proactively looking for leadership roles wherever the opportunity rises. Maybe subconsciously in a pursuit for praise that she would have heard from her father or her mentor, but her hyperambition could as just have very well been a seed in her core since childhood.
What are your personal plans for the character: Theres a lot of potential for character development with Smallstorm. She has experienced a lot of trauma, having her mother, leader, mentor and father all die in such a short amount of time. She will be hardened and bitter while she processes these deaths, which will in turn impact the relationships around her. I imagine the way she copes with these deaths is to retract herself from engaging in any emotional intimacy or from forming deeper connections that could be torn away from her again. Overcoming this will be part of her journey she needs to do without her brother. I'd love to see her eventually build a strong support system for herself because I don't want to play too much into a lone wolf cliche.
I see her needing to do some intense inner healing to be able to resolve the relationship with her brother, but this will be non-linear and slow to come. Both herself and Tornpelt will need to grow a little bit together. Before this happens, we foresee an explosive climax in their resentment towards each other that will leave them with an ultimatum of where their relationship will lie. This will be dynamic, and I would love to see how their relationship eventually plays out together.
She will be quick to form a friend group of her own, though small and tightly knit. Or perhaps gravitate towards 1-2 cats with similarly ambitious mindsets to surround herself with positive influences, as she'd probably say.
Character name: Swiftsight (renaming to Splintersight)
How will this character integrate into the current clan/tribe's plot: Splintersight is no stranger to her lineage, both the good and the bad. Splintersight seeks to bring back Graystar’s games: the tournaments, the ranks, and the duels. However, these are more than games to the she-cat, and she takes them quite seriously. She believes that ThistleClan should be made up of only the strongest cats, and that ThistleClan should be the strongest Clan on the island. She wants to push their territory boundaries to see if they can take some of the redwood or birch forest, or even into the northern cliffs. If they pushed into the cliffs, they could take rogue territory, which would please her greatly. Splintersight hates her rogue blood, and any rogues for that matter. She thinks all rogues should be dead, and has no problem killing them herself. While she does not yet have the conviction to voice her ideals explicitly to Stagstar or Firfoot, she will become more empowered, and with her empowerment she will become more vocal. Eventually, she may even find her beliefs straying into the territory that their current leadership should be replaced with Graystar’s descendants; only the strongest descendants, though, of course.
What are your personal plans for the character: Even in her older age, Splintersight still feels ashamed of her rogue blood. Out of the living members of her family, she has the most of it, and it makes her feel insecure. Winning duels, spars, and challenges make her feel more powerful and less insecure, so she will challenge her Clanmates and maybe even her family to prove her worth to herself and to those around her. She will interact with Nettlesting and Needleleap, but in negative ways. She may become more distant from Nettlesting due to their differences in how they should go about their similar ideologies. She will probably become more distant with Needleleap as well, however she is still a mother, and helps Needleleap get around when she needs to. She also tends to be harsh on her children, and her harshness shows in trying to get Needleleap to recover as much as possible from her permanent injury. Regardess of how harsh she is, Splintersight does love her children and doesn’t wish bad things to happen to them. She will protect them no matter what. Regarding Tornpelt and Smallstorm, she is distant from them and is envious of them. She envies their upbringing and how much love they received from their parents, and also their full-Clan blood. She does sometimes seek out Tornpelt and Smallstorm’s opinions, thanks to their shared heritage. Splintersight prefers Smallstorm over Tornpelt.

Plot name: Celandine Physician Your character name: Mercury How will this character fulfill the current plot's needs: Mercury is a known healer who is actually in Celandine and was actually recruited solely because he can heal. With that it mind, I think he’d fit extremely well as the physician.
With an inability to fight and heal, and having sworn an oath to Thynir, the god of health and healing that he worships, Mercury really has little going for him outside of his ability to heal. This has led to him pretending to do things he can’t, like make cats irresistible to potential mates or to help make them stealthy. He really isn’t a fan of this however, and would love the ability to just be able to heal without having to make himself sound more important to get food.
He has a lot of skill in healing almost every ailment, from greencough to poisonings, and from broken bones to childbirth. He can do it all. He is not trained as much as a medicine cat, but he’s quite well versed in the art of healing.
The code he follows is one of generosity. All he would ask for in return is prey and protection. Perhaps when the floods die down, he may ask for help with creating an herb garden to grow Catmint and other important herbs.
