ThistleClan
a portly seal bicolor.
deputy

67 moons
Appearance
Dour-faced and heavily built, gone are the moons of revelry and hard-bodied strength; gone those moons of prideful poise and upraised chins, for Firfoot has traded them for more slovenly habits. It with a head perpetually bowed he walks, his paws scuffing and dragging beneath newfound and indulgent weight, his brow grown heavy and jowls a-swell with copious eating that has made him portly and fleshy about all his edges. Gone is his handsome ruggedness, stifled beneath paunchy cheeks and well-endowed flanks. In his place is but a shadow of who he once was; replaced by a creature altogether changed and dreary-eyed, whose likeness persists only in the lustrous furs which are largely unchanged and those eyes, half blind, which, however somber are sharp with an imperceptible cunning.
Personality
Time has taught him a great deal, and so he has only grown wise—more cunning and conniving and hungry for those things only imagined in his kithood. Firfoot is an indulgent creature as he is a prideful one, and wants for himself and for his people all things which make life fat and easy and covetous. He desires land for them, reputations which keep their foes from their borders, and above all he wishes for only them to have such things, for he is wary of all those whom he does not know and does not trust readily. Even allies are met with a detached officiousness, for Firfoot is not one who delights in making friends, but instead in making the briefest of acquaintances to achieve the things which he desires for the people whose loyalty they will always have and who conviction toward their cause has remained as stalwart and unwavering as it ever was before. For though proud, Firfoot does not put his desires above his people, and all that he does he does first for them and for his bounteous family whose reach swells to even the farthest reaches of their island.
But to all else Firfoot is no friend. He is gruff and coarse about his edges—blunt and ill-tempered. He is no endurer of flattery or fools and lifts his hackles at the first slight or endangerment to his time. There are few beyond his border whom Firfoot admits to trusting, and in his eyes for good reason, for his Clan has lived extensively at the whim of all others and he finds with each moon he can endure their foolishness no longer. And so he turns to those who are not family or trusted a dreary and melancholic disposition, addled with pessimistic sentiments and an aloofness even those close to him find off-putting. Yet for all the incredulous stares he might receive for the unfiltered wagging of his tongue, he seems not to care a great deal. After all, what use are friends to him?
History
00-05 Moons.
67-62 Moons Ago, Winter’s Blight… Born on the cusp of a harsh winter, Firkit, son to warriors Daisythorn and Minkfoot is one of the six lives brought into the Clan after seasons of hardship and loss. To be born amid such boisterous numbers, Firkit learned early on that no victory was easily won. Frequently pitting himself against his siblings and wrestling for the admiration and acknowledgement of his parents, his childhood was one of boisterousness and ample weight-throwing. He came to be known even then as a kit worthy of promise, whose potential overshadowed that of his kin, and so came to crave the spoils of such accomplishment.
06-08 Moons .
61-59 Moons Ago, Taking Root… Upon reaching his sixth moon, Firpaw was entrusted to a warrior of great renown, whose standing among ThistleClan’s fighters was near unrivaled. It was under this tom’s tutelage that he began to see the most substantial improvement. Still, the Clan continues to whisper fondly on the entirety of his litter; they all offering some talents of their own greatly valued and admired by their peers. Despite his best efforts to remain cordial, Firpaw struggles to acknowledge his siblings achievements as equal to his own and so throws himself more vigorously into his training, to the detriment of his relationship with his peers.
09-11 Moons.
58-56 Moons Ago, the Hunt… As his talents increased, so did the separation between himself and his kin grow, and while the Clan murmured more favorably toward his potential, he could not help but to envy those of his kin whose bonds remained strong and to whom they each felt safe in confiding in. Having no one, Firpaw continues to shift his focus inward. He develops a strong sense of self-reliance, greatly encouraged by his mentor and rejects the weaker desires of his heart in favor of the future he feels himself deserving.
12-20 Moons.
55-47 Moons Ago, Purpose… In times of scarcity, predators draw closer to ThistleClan camp, leading a fox to root desperately among the Clans own dens for a free meal. Falling upon a queen and her kit, Sprucepaw and Firpaw aid in driving the fox off, though not fast enough to spare the child that fell before the lash of its teeth. Though the Clan sings their praises and commends them for their courage, Firpaw is slow to celebrate even as he receives hi warrior name. Dogged with guilt he vows to never allow such failings to occur again and once again sinks into his training.
24-30 Moons.
43-37 Moons Ago, the Uprising… Daisythorn and Minkfoot pass away suddenly in the harsher seasons. While his kin gather together to mourn their dead, Firfoot finds no such respites and does so alone, feeling little connection to his kin even then in their shared grief. Steadily, the world grows in its bleakness, yet it does not dampen his drive for improvement. While his family mourns, Firfoot hones his skills and is later rewarded with his first apprentice—an unruly tom who will try him worse than any trial faced before. Yet even this he will overcome.
33-37 Moons.
34-30 Moons Ago, Burned Bridges... After a brutal battle against the rogues, Hawktail is left badly wounded, leading to a premature retirement. Amid the news, Firfoot is lifted to fill her place and the lofty expectations she has left in her wake—a matter he does not shirk from and work tirelessly to meet. As a first order of business, Firfoot stands in attendance as Thievingstar wages war against the Tribe cats on the distant shores. Recognizing the Clans state after the conflict, Firfoot devises a plan alongside Ratwhisker to quell Thievingstar’s suspicions and upon leading a patrol to greet them, maintain peace throughout the encounter. Upon returning, he reports the Tribe’s harmlessness, although Thievingstar remains largely unconvinced, ThistleClan is offered more time to recover, only to be set upon by flooding that forces them to leave their Clan. Upon finding shelter on high ground, Thievingstar, suspecting Firfoot of treason, strips him of his title and hoists Stagflight in his place. Without waiting long enough for the ceremony to end, Firfoot, slighted before his own people, leaves the Clan entirely, living for countless moons alone in rogue-infested hunting grounds.
45-48 Moons.
22-19 Moons Ago, the Return… Despite his own self-enforced exile, Firfoot is never far from the Clan and learns quickly of the reclaimed camp in the green-leaf moons while Lily amasses her rogue at the Abandoned Campground. Although he omits himself from the fighting undergone to reclaim it, he makes his return under the guise of having endured severe injuries. Although he is granted shelter once again, many question his loyalty and suspect his disappearance hinged on his demotion. Though Firfoot neither agrees or dissuades these accusations, they affect him deeply; he takes up a habit of gorging himself in instances of significant emotional turmoil, further lowering him in the opinion of his people.
50-52 Moons.
17-15 Moons Ago, the Little Death… Upon rejoining, Firfoot learn of his sister’s newborns. While he is acquainted with them, their time within the Clan is short-lived as Birchsong’s trusting nature results in her children being taken by one of Lily’s rogues. Her negligence results in her banishment, and shortly after Birchsong is forced to leave the Clan. Despite attempts to appeal to Thievingstar, Firfoot’s demands are denied. As leaf-bare settles, fear of Birchsong’s untimely passing grow, however Firfoot finds her lingering along the ThistleClan border, weak and half-starved. He offers her prey off of ThistleClan’s pile, but soon even those visits grow scarce as she fails to meet him at their customary spot. Believing her dead, Firfoot shifts his focus to uncovering his lost niece, Cedarkit and alongside his Clanmates comes face-to-face with the new leader of the rogues, a she-cat by the name of Lily. Although Firfoot is unable to learn much about the whereabout of his kin, her appearance leads Firfoot and Yewthorn to join forces as they further seek to find uncover Birchsong and Cedarkit’s whereabouts.

During the altercation, Thievingstar is struck down by the rogues in her effort to defend the nursery. As the rogues flee, Stagflight launches a counter-attack with Firfoot in attendance. Aiding the deputy to avenge their dead leader, Firfoot is gravely wounded and loses vision in hi right eye. While recovering in the medicine den, he is approached by the newly made Stagstar and made the new deputy of ThistleClan. Although once the news would have gladdened him, Firfoot takes on the new title somberly and instantly works to drive the Clan into strengthening themselves for future attacks. As the Clan bolster themselves, a Blood Moon rears itself in the sky. Believed to be a fell omen, it is beneath this troubling sign that Firfoot is approached by Meadowpaw, begging him to form an alliance against LichenClan and purge the island of evil. Despite her pleas, Firfoot dissuades her and stubbornly sets his focus on his own people, believing to aid RedwoodClan would be to further endanger a Clan ill-fit to fight.
61-62 Moons.
06-05 Moons Ago, the Alliance… In the hush of night, leader and deputy from both ThistleClan and RedwoodClan convene in secrecy to discuss the forging of a temporary alliance. With the agreement in place, both sides band together to end season cycles worth of war and tyranny—avenging all those who died in the wake of Minnowstar’s cruel and heinous ways. Their alliance proved an effective decision; at its climax, not only Minnowstar, but the Rogues are extinguished in the fighting. However, while the Clan celebrates then of a long and bloody war, Firfoot laments the loss of his sister. Having killed Oleander, son of Lily and mate of Birchsong, what was meant as an act to free her from the rogues, only drives her farther from home. Birchsong denounces him, and in the wake of her refusal, Firfoot formally banishes her from ThistleClan and labels her an enemy of the Clan.
64-67 Moons.
03-00 Moon Ago, Renewal… The war concluded, efforts begin to rebuild. Firfoot sets his focus on bolstering defenses and bulking larders. Viewing his arrival as an opportunity for ThistleClan to forge a new, powerful alliance with the Tribe, Firfoot views it as an opportunity to win over who have always been strong allies to RedwoodClan’s more charitable natures. However, an act of negligence allows the Teller to escape amidst a long and fearsome blizzard. When news of his disappearance spreads, Firfoot views Stagstar’s leadership in a new light. Desiring greatness for the Clan now that LichenClan’s reign has ended, Firfoot begins to undermined Stagstar in an effort to have his dream fully realized and unhindered by any future blunders. In so doing, he intercepts a message meant to warn Stagstar of a coming flood, and upon its arrival, the Clan is ill-prepared to face it.
