Sunrise that
Burns the Sky
Tribe of Floating Stones
long ginger and white she-cat with hazel eyes
head prey-hunter
she-cat
50 moons
Appearance
Sunrise's has a beautiful body, one that came less by the grace of genetics, but to her own yen for athletics. Owed to her long anatomy, and moons spent toning it through exercise and toil, she developed a body that is sleek, a bit muscular and aerodynamic. Her legs are actually shorter than average, but their toned appearance and defined angles (along with correct posture) makes her seem taller than she is. Her back legs are noticeably tougher and bulkier than her front, abused and built through many hunts, sprints, slogs, and kicks. They terminate in round shoulders. Her chest is a bit broad, but she widens toward the back where her more developed muscles are. Owing to the illusion of height as well, is her long neck. All in all, she stands at 11 1/4in from top to bottom. A bit short, but this adds to her agility. Sunrise is a runner, and while she is not brimming with muscle like some stone-guards, she is leanly toned all over her body. Her medium length fur adds a level of modesty about this, so when she is out, one wouldn't really be able to see it bare, but would be able to imply as to her development. It is most noticeable in her legs. Also around her underside and legs, and a few other places, some scarring and scratches can be found. Her tail is long, with tufts of fur growing out in a few places.
Sunrise That Burns The Sky is lucky that her mother gave birth outside the cropping of stones that she lived in, when she did. Like an early morning sky, Sunrise has fur that is predominantly bright red, orange in some places. That color is concentrated along her back, and while splotches exist, especially on her hind right leg, her legs and underside are white. The white extends up to form a mask around her mouth and eyes, and a delta jutting up the forehead. Sunrise has medium length fur, that she wishes was shorter, but still, begrudgingly maintains. Behind her ears, she has a cowlick.
A few places on her body carry what fat she does have, and one of those places is the face. Sunrise has a roundish face and chubby cheeks, with long whiskers protruding out of them. In between them, a short muzzle, and a pink nose. Up top, two median-length ears sit off the the sides of her head. Her eyes are big and have hazel colored irises, with a few black flecks.

Personality
Sunrise has a personality that may be seem like she has two clashing attributes. Onlookers could see her as an extrovert, willing to engage in any conversation, boasting, toasting, and roasting at the expense of everyone, including herself. The next hour, they'd find her engrossed in work, or exercise, accepting only urgent dispatches from her superiors. The reason for this is her sense of what could be called gravitas.
Sunrise doesn't take herself seriously, but takes her work extremely so. Modest in accomplishment, humbled by failure, and generally socially adept, Sunrise doesn't feel defined by her role as Prey-Hunter, and elects to let her hair down most of the time. She's firey, jesty, and lighthearted when she is "off-duty" When it is time to work, some of this attitude remains, but it is tempered by a seriousness that comes from discipline. When she leads, she leads by example, demanding as much from herself as her teammates. This allows her to continually effect results, but it's not always a good thing. When she is doing something, she is completely focused on the job. She's "whatever" about it if not really engaged, but serious tasks get her full attention. This is good for her focus but leaves her unavailable to the rest of the tribe, and in the bad graces of those that may have needed her help. Even worse this can extend into a prolonged "mood" where she blocks out everyone and seeks solitude while she tussles with a difficult problem. This stems from a need to be the one with the answers, resources, or knowhow and a feeling she has something to prove. If she can't deliver, she can get insecure about it.
She would tell you that she's lucky, but really, Sunrise is plucky. Since kithood, Sunrise has always been spunky, fiery, and thinking with her heart. She was always the first to explore new places, try new thing, and get into trouble. It's what allows her to make friends, carry herself how she wants, lead, and get her points across (although has learned that some more extreme reactions have a time and place.) The fuel for this fire comes from her outlook on service. She always felt a responsibility to do everything she could for her tribe-mates, and later, through Moth's example, gained the values of true servant leadership. She puts her team of prey-hunters first, and herself second, in every situation, and accepts responsibility for every failure and folly.
When applied, this attitude turns into courage, determination, and even a bit of a gambler's sense. Sunrise knows that if you want to advance, that sometimes means taking a chance, and has no fear of making a risky choice that could either double the yield or lose a hunt's bounty. A genuine love for her home and tribe undercut everything about her, but she can be a bit much. Sometimes funky, spunky, and plucky can turn into loud, cutting, pushy, and sometimes a little too combatative, especially when she's fired up (which is kinda easy to do), frustrated, or moody. A history of differed opinions with the guards is recorded. More grave, is this effect on her decision making. If not in her right mind, she can get a bit of tunnel vision, or impulsiveness, and decide to take a dumb risk, or make a bad decision. If it gets too bad, she"ll need another cat to hep calm her down, or help her think a bit more clearly.

History
Trunk that Splits the Stone was a Stone-Guard, and the father of Sunrise that Burns the Sky. On the day she was born, there was no prouder moment for him, as this was his first litter. It was a litter of four, and her mother decided to make a break from the tradition, letting Trunk name the daughter among them. It was daybreak, and his choice was clear.
As she was growing up as a kit, she was the most spirited of her siblings, and she would often lead them on shenanigans, seeking adventure around their den, and challenging them to games. Always running about, she would make her father take her into the water, chase him about. She quickly developed a love for activity, when she was forbidden to go out, she would sneak out and explore by herself. She got in trouble, and got herself hurt on occasion, but she bounced back each time. When she got tired of this, she reveled in Trunk's stories about the battles he fought with creatures and occasionally other cats. She loved his father and what he did, protecting the hunters, and repelling threats, and assisting the tribe when needed. It sounded like tales of a knights in shining armor. She wanted nothing more to become a stone-guard like her father. She was beginning to grow a bit, and getting slender. She knew, that if she wanted to be a good stone-guard, she'd have to begin a littler early.
In the time leading up to her status of to-be, she watched the stone-guards who trained regularly for exercise inspiration. At first, she tried to tackle a whole workout as it stood, which only served to make her sick. But, each time, she tweaked it until she found a comfortable routine to build herself. She gave herself a nice head start, and had the strength to easily swim and climb and fight with the other to-be's. Something that seemed to worry her though, is that hunting seemed to be what she was best at. The problem seemed to be her lack of endurance, so she began to look for ways to last longer. She remembered how happy she was when she would run out by the shores, with the cool breeze and scent of the ocean air. She began to run. Little stretches at a time, then longer, until she felt she could last in a fight like she wanted. Her fighting, and hunting ability grew, as did her confidence. She began to take longer treks out by herself, looking for new routes to train at. She relished her time training with the guards, and it got to the point where sometimes, she would intentionally scuff a hunt, just to appear below average. It would soon be time for her to finally join the ranks along with her dad.
"Prey-Hunter"
Prey Hunter....Sunrise didn't think she had heard more offensive words in her life. She appeared joyous, for ceremonies sake, but when she returned to her den, she cried the night away. She was crushed for awhile, and this was the first time she felt the need to recluse herself. She was half hearted with her work. She picked farther and farther places to run, and elected to sleep alone some nights. After awhile of this, she couldn't take her self-loathing anymore and she went to the StoneTeller to demand answers. After ranting and spewing for what seemed like forever, StoneTeller revealed, it was at the urging of Moth Guided by Fireflies. After the same performance, Moth told her that she requested her because she, the StoneTeller, and her father had seen, that is where she would serve the tribe best. Sunrise reviled at this, and this placed a rift between her and her father. Others urged her to reconcile but she was stubborn. Over time, she grew to trust Moth,
and call her a friend. Sunrise learned a lot from her, more by being under her leadership that by anything else. She came to realize that she really was quite good at hunting, and it had it's own enjoyable bits. After one especially poignant conversation, she made good with her father, and figured if she couldn't be a guard, she may as well be the best Hunter she could be. This is when she started to really get serious about things, and it served her well in her improvement. She started to engage with other tribe members again, and was soon back to her old self. She has let go of her hang ups about the guards, but seeing them work still give her feelings of regret. That's one of the reasons she pushes herself so hard.
The sickness came. All over, cats were calling ill and dying. There seemed to be no ease, nothing she could do to help her friends. Then Moth caught it. At first, Sunrise did her best to help her, but her condition worsened. She and StoneTeller made it clear that the responsibility would fall to her to lead the Hunter's until Moth could recover. She's settling into the role, but is still adjusting, not helped by the uncertainty that she may be next.
