The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.
Abundant groundwater supports Lake Superior, steadily supplying the Clan cats and other inhabitants with fresh drinking water. It also flows freely among the elaborate cave system resting beneath the island. Particularly close to the lagoon, a stream cuts through the tunnels, providing a rich hunting location for the tunnel cats. Cavefish populate the water's murky streams, and pesky salamanders linger near its depths.
Along the most northern reaches of the island and deep into rogue territory, the elaborate cave system gives away and opens into the sky. A large cavern depresses into the earth. It has no ceiling, allowing the tunnel cats to observe the outside sky. Open to fresh air and moisture, abundant, luminescent moss covers the floor of the cavern, where rare and hard to find herbs blossom from the ground. Tunnel cats frequently visit the Observatory to track the sky and remain close with their ancestors.
At the heart of their underground dwellings, a large, cavernous trench nearly cuts the island in two. Sharp drop-offs signal its descent. Only those familiar with its existence know of the trailways and ramps leading to its delicate center and use them to navigate down into the pits. At the very bottom of the trench, lies soft, plushy earth, where one can dig and find wonders. Pathways of stair-like stepping stones lead to large nooks, jutting into the trench's side, perfect for sleeping or storing secrets.
