The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.
Located to the northeast, is the Rock where All Wounds Heal. Seasons ago when the Tribe was beset with serious illness, cats were sent to this island out of fear. The Teller, Sky, knew this separation of the Tribe was an ill omen. When she discovered the cure for the sickness and the Tribe recovered, she created a memorial of stacked stones to rest in the center of the island. This stands as a reminder to future generations of the connection the Tribe shares with each other and the earth they live in, and to never sever that bond. In present time the island is used as a herb garden and a place for spiritual rest and retreat.
The second most northeastern island is the Stone that Never Ends. This island is where the souls of deceased tribe cats return to the Tribe of Endless Life. Once a tribe cat dies, their life is celebrated and honored at the tribe stone. Then a ceremonial procession carries the deceased tribe member to the Stone that Never Ends. The tribe member is buried next to their deceased kin and returned to the earth. This is the most sacred island on the shore, the land is eerily silent and cold. Under each new moon, the teller travels to the sacred stone to reach his fallen ancestors.
The furthest island from the shore, and also the largest of the isles, the Stone where Fish leap is a popular fishing ground for prey-hunters. Separated from the mainland by a dangerous channel, only the most powerful and skilled swimmers can brave its treacherous waters. The island carries numerous inland creeks, shallow pools, and access to the lake, which makes it an advantageous hunting location due to its varying fish populations.
The most southern island from the shore is the Rock where Leaves Fall. This island is named for its colorful, deciduous trees that turn a brilliant, vibrant red during the autumn moons. The island also serves as an ideal training ground for newly appointed to-bes as the water is calm, the shore is delicate, and the land is dotted with an abundance of small, mammalian prey. This is often the first place where to-bes learn to swim, fight, and hunt. It is also one of the most beautiful places on the island, ideal for romantic strolls and conversations.
