The Apostles is a warrior cats roleplay based in northern Wisconsin. On Lake Superior, the wild cats have made the Apostle Islands their home. It is on these islands - Rocky Island and South Twin Island - that the clan and tribe cats have lived in a peace and harmony that ebbs and flows with the tide.
But as the tides turn, so does the truce that binds them to one another; and as the water raises, a darkness follows, an evil that will end in bloodshed and violence.

Character name: Deadeye Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Deadeye is especially closed-off an unemotional as a mentor, desiring no special relationship with any apprentice he has. He heavily incorporates his beliefs and values into his teaching style, and may even encourage hunting rather than fighting for she-cats, and more fighting for toms (even if they don't come from traditional families). Any emotions, especially dramatic and sad ones, shown by a tom apprentice he has will be shunned. He would rather teach toms than she-cats, though. The recent war was important to him so he will teach about that and their Clan's history. He may be more of a bully to his apprentices than other warriors. However, she has become more motherly and understanding ever since having Mudpaw. She will heavily teach battle skills and less heavily hunting, and also emphasize duty and service to the Clan. Sparring sessions will sometimes be claws-out, though not often. She may put her apprentices up to challenges and competitions with other apprentices, emphasizing strength and not being weak. She's more extreme than Cherrybite, being even stricter and much tougher. Her training will almost entirely focus on battle skills and sparring. Splintersight also uses mentoring to impart her values on her apprentices, encouraging them to see their denmates as their competition and encouraging fights between them. Training may be claws-out with her. She will be hard on her apprentices if they show weakness. Despite how much she'll emphasize fighting, she will also teach the history of their Clan with particular importance. Character name:Mintbreeze Character Clan: RedwoodClan Mentoring style: Mintbreeze would emphasize the importance of a warrior’s duty to the Clan, and discourage fighting just to pick a fight. He will still teach fighting and hunting skills, and may not be particularly close relationship-wise with his apprentice, it depends on the apprentice. He may stumble at times with training, being a little socially awkward, but he will try his best as mentoring upcoming warriors is his duty. He is very encouraging and not super strict. However, he is very serious and so a rowdier apprentice would probably get under his skin and not enjoy having him as a mentor. He will make sure his apprentices turn out to be well-rounded, excellent warriors who serve the Clan well. Character name:Shrewfur Character Clan: Redwoodclan Mentoring style: Shrewfur is the closest thing to a classroom teacher, and focuses heavily on the powers of observation and mental development. As she had to learn, she wants her students to learn that there are meta-skills and thinking styles that will enable them to fashion their own solutions, and eventaully empart the skills to let them teach themselves their own lessons. Her specialty is observation and tracking. Training sessions may not always be conventional and will include offensive techniques, sentry, climbing, problem solving, and each apprentice will be given 'homework' in the form of some questions to explore that they will need to make a report of. Character name: Eggpelt Character Clan: Thistleclan Mentoring style: Eggpelt is a very laid back mentor who is forgiving of mistakes and encouraging in tone, though he is a Thistleclanner and is not afraid to push for the correct result, or rib on his students. Hunting is his specialty and his students will learn many techniques to keep the kill pile fresh. Eggpelt does not focus on fighting and prefers to solve his problems with words, so in addition to the standard curriculum, he'll be able to impart his wisdom on how to navigate the clan's unique social structure and gain a strong sense of self. Character name:Flintheart Character Clan: Lichenclan Mentoring style: Flintheart was trained during the height of of the mooncave conflict, and his mentor was the deputy Hemlockheart. His faith told him that the development of his body is the way of the faith, and passes this philosophy onto his students. His lessons consists of rituals that honor the ancestors above by honing their bodies, and his specialty is endurance training. His training is strict and brutal, and he demands much, however he will stick by them through the pain as both a physical and spiritual guide. Character name:Character name Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Quickstrike’s own apprenticeship was marked by many trials and tribulations that pushed him to the extremes, molding him into cold, quiet warrior in record timing. His own approach to mentoring is starkly different, if not a little bit of a process in the making. He prefers to take his time with his apprentices and get acquainted with not only their personalities, but their inspirations, insecurities, faith, strengths, and weaknesses. He has a gentler hand than most would expect, preferring to guide and mold than lead and teach. He is not one to announce a cat’s flaws and harp on them, but rather encourage their strengths. Desired apprentice type: Quickstrike is typically drawn to the quiet cats who are uncertain of themselves. He can get stern if needed, and will be more than willing to take on a trouble maker, but much prefers to find the diamonds in the rough or the ones in the shadows. Character Clan: Lichenclan Mentoring style: The time she spent training with Sturgeonstone made her into the molly she is today. She hopes to pass on what she learned onto the next generation of Lichenclan ladies. But with the changing of leadership and ways of the clan, Ivyflower wants to try to keep to the old ways but isn't opposed to learning the new ways as well. She just wants to see those that she mentors to find their own path within the clan and continue to grow and flourish. She will rely on others at times to make sure her apprentices are progressing at a fairly quick enough rate but isn't against holding them back if they are not ready to earn their names. She will consult with those in charge if needed when it comes to holding them back, bringing up her concerns so that the leaders understand the situation, whatever that may be. Desired apprentice type: Ivyflower would be more suited training the young mollies of Lichenclan. Not saying she couldn't train a tom she just has no experience with them outside of her family. Character name:Gullheart Character Clan: RedwoodClan. Mentoring style: Heavy focus on battle training. A once renowned fighter, there is nothing Gullheart likes more than to exchange blows with his peers and will expect similar interest from his apprentice. He doesn't care very much for more idle training such as hunting, and is more likely to pit his mentor against powerful foes than test their aptitude in hunting. Desired apprentice type: Gullheart works with any type of apprentice. Does best with ambitious types, but I can also see him instilling confidence in more timid characters. Character name:Fawnbriar Character Clan: RedwoodClan. Mentoring style: Incredibly inexperienced, Fawnbriar's mentoring style would be largely sporadic and unregulated. Having progressed through the bulk of her training without issue, she was a naturally skilled apprentice with a highly experienced mentor and is seemingly unable to comprehend those that have difficulty with that which came naturally to her. Because of this, Fawnbriar explains very little and has seemingly unmeetable expectations. Expect training in both hunting and fighting, but nothing thorough for a young, learning mind.
Desired apprentice type: Preferably a cat who is the opposite of Fawnbriar. Someone less plucky, timid and lacking in confidence and may have more difficulty meeting warrior expectations than their peers.

Character name:Ghostface. Character Clan: LichenClan Mentoring style: Ghostface is a lax teacher. He's just as likely to practice hunting and fighting skills as he is to spend a laidback rest day at the shore. Being philosophical, Ghostface prioritizes spirituality and mindfulness in his teachings. He wishes above all else to teach tolerance and stresses the importance of nuance. As a council member, Ghostface feels it is equally important to teach Clan politics and tries to teach about the different groups within the Clan with neutrality. Desired apprentice type: Ghostface has the ability to train anyone and adapts easily to whoever he's assigned. I think he would work best with Clan outcasts or unorthodox thinkers. Expect to know everything there is to know about navigating the pines and scouting for ambushes and scarcely anything about the best hunting techniques. Due to Firfoot's blindness, he often calls on other warriors to fill in where his lack of vision is a hindrance. Firfoot is not one to readily offer encouragement or words of affirmation and expects that his apprentices will not expect these virtues of him, but will instead do as they are told. Desired apprentice type: Firfoot's ideal apprentice is ambitious, battle-hungry and obedient; however, he also pairs well with obstinate individuals. Under no circumstance should Firfoot be paired with a cowardly apprentice, but instead cast said burden onto another. Firfoot is particular about who he chooses especially as he ages.
