cherrybite
thistleclan
a long-furred seal point she-cat with icy blue eyes
senior warrior
cis female
75 moons
Appearance
Cherrybite is not the tallest cat. She is shorter than most of her clanmates, though she always carries herself in a way that makes her seem just as big or tall. She always holds her head high. She is strong as well, but a cat could never tell, given how long her fur is. Her fur is very fluffy, wispy, and long, which gives her an advantage in battle. It encourages her enemies to think she’s bigger than she actually is, especially when it’s raised. Additionally, Cherrybite takes significant time out of her days to groom her fur. Not so that she can look pretty, but so that she doesn’t get mats. She has a largely brown pelt that fades into a cream toward her midsection and fades to black toward her face, tail, and paws. Her lower half, especially her back, is more brown than cream, reflecting her age. Her face has a sideways rhombus shape, and her ears are wide and triangular. She has a shorter than average muzzle, and sitting on her dark almost black face are two piercing, icy blue eyes. Additionally, she has a little bit of an RBF, which discourages most cats from approaching her.

Personality
Cherrybite is one of the fiercest she-cats one will ever meet. She’s heavily inclined toward battles and sparring, so she hunts only as it is her duty to the Clan. She more often hunts specifically for her family or friends, however. Not only does she care about her family, but she cares about their reputation in the Clan as well. She’s protective, sometimes overly, which sometimes puts innocent cats on the end of her sharp tongue. She almost but not quite has a “high and mighty” attitude. She does believe in StarClan; secretly, it’s because she needs to believe for her own sake that her parents and family are watching over her.
+Protective: Despite her looks on the outside, Cherrybite deeply cares about the cats that are close to her. Her extended family and her friends are very important to her, possibly stemming from the untimely losses of her mother and father. She is always willing to jump in and protect them, physically or verbally, and this relays to the Clan as well. This makes her a loyal friend.
+Fierce: Cherrybite very much knows her worth. She is not afraid to speak her mind, and knows when a cat is wasting her time. She can have a sharp tongue, but this extends to battle as well. Cherry is willing to put her life on the line for her family and Clan, and she tends to last longer in battle when she has those two things on her mind. In battle, this makes her attacks relentless and sometimes she can take things too far. Due to the former, she is an efficient warrior.
-Snappy: Cherrybite can be snappy, that is, rude. This is where she got her prefix, -bite, from. She has trouble empathizing with cats she does not know, so she has a tendency to just say what she thinks to them, and more often than not this ends up with hurt feelings. For the other cat, that is. This can make her unpopular with some of her Clanmates. Throughout her life, she has tried to work on this, but every time has decided that it’s not worth the time. Providing for her family is more important.
-Humorless: Cherrybite is serious most of the time. She is always doing something for the Clan or her family, and she takes those duties very seriously. This causes her to be humorless, and she sees other cats that crack jokes constantly as the most annoying creatures on the Island. This somber attitude can make her unpopular with her Clanmates and can cause her confusion sometimes when interacting with other cats if they use jokes or slang when they speak to her. This can cause her to miss flirtatious remarks as well. However, her mate, Owlfang, and some of her close family can get smiles and laughs out of her.
History
2017: Cherrykit was born in the late summer of the 2017 season to Daisythorn and Minkfur in a large litter of six, her siblings being Sprucekit, Yewkit, Firkit, Juniperkit, and Birchkit. Cherrykit tended to be closer to her siblings who received less attention from her parents, and often reassured them that she loved them and would do anything for them. Though she does not hate any of her siblings, she often found it hard to like Yewkit.
2018: Upon her apprenticeship, Cherrypaw received Rushbriar as a mentor. At first, Cherrypaw did not like her or how she taught, but Rushbriar quickly grew on her, and they ended up getting along very well. She was one of the few cats who made Cherrypaw laugh. Cherrypaw received more battle related training at the time of her apprenticeship due to the Clan’s adversities with the rogues and foxes.
A fox attack on the camp occurred when Cherrypaw and her siblings were still apprentices. Cherrypaw and Rushbriar were out hunting at the time, but heard the commotion and rushed back to camp. Cherrypaw arrived in time to witness the foxes being pushed out of the nursery by her brothers. She assisted in the battle, and this experience humbled her. It helped her realize that they, as cats, are fragile and that life can be easily taken.
When it came time to receive her warrior name and dig her den, Cherrybite was slow and methodical. She simply didn’t rush, she didn’t see the point. She did end up connecting her den to her siblings’.
Cherrybite distanced herself from Yewthorn and became ever closer to her other siblings. She believed Yewthorn to be a foolish tom and doesn’t take him seriously much anymore.
Early in Cherrybite’s warriorhood, Daisythorn fell victim to greencough. This once again helped Cherrybite realize how fragile life was, and also made her bitter for a time. She believed more in StarClan after this.
2019: Foxes once again attacked the Clan. Cherrybite fought valiantly with her brother, Spruceshade, but they couldn’t save everyone. They lost Minkfur, and this made Cherrybite very angry for a long time.
Cherrybite’s anger at the world loosened when she received Thunderpaw as an apprentice. It saddened her to see Thunderpaw so sad all the time, and Cherrybite tried many times to empower him through encouragement, positive reinforcement, and battle training.
2020: Regarding Thievingstar, Cherrybite never understood her deep desire to terrorize the tribe. She believed Thievingstar was acting irrationally and unnecessarily putting lives at risk.
Despite this, Cherrybite supported Firfoot’s promotion to deputy and was happy for him. She hoped he would bring some order to the chaos.
During the flood, Cherrybite did her best to ensure her Clanmates and family got out of the camp safely. However, she wasn’t able to get out quick enough herself and waited too long to leave the camp. She was swept away by a surge of water and lost consciousness as her breath was taken from her.
The waters finally put her down near the shore of the island. She had no idea where she was, and it took her many days to finally find her way back to Thistleclan’s temporary camp. She was very thankful to be reunited with her family.
2021: Cherrybite participated in the battle to take back their camp against the rogues. She also was heavily involved in rebuilding the camp.
As the trouble with the rogues continued on, this made Cherrybite contempt toward loners and outsiders. When her own sister, Birchsong, was found to have a rogue mate, Cherrybite was furious and fully supported her banishment. She has held no relationship with Birchsong to this day.
2022: She welcomed Stagstar’s leadership and Firfoot’s return to his deputy position. However, she quickly regretted supporting Firfoot as he enacted his strict training regimes. It reminded Cherrybite of Thievingstar. Cherrybite participated as well in the battle against LichenClan. She has gained much wisdom throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons, but is steadfast and remains just as snappy and protective of her family as always.
2023: Early in the season during a blizzard, Cherrybite confronted a friend, Owlfang, and the two became mates. On a patrol, Cherrybite and Yewthorn lost a valuable prisoner, Fog, to the blizzard. Unfortunately, due to the rapid thaw of the blizzard in newleaf, Cherrybite was taken away from her Clan again and swept away into rogue lands. Ash, a friendlier rogue, helped her recover but also brought her to Poppy and her rogue group, Celandine. A few of Cherrybite’s clanmates had also found themselves stranded there including her second apprentice, Pipitpaw.
Cherrybite tried to continue her training regardless of the situation that they were in. Spending time with a group she so resented wore on her mentally. The she-cat was stuck there for a few moons before Ash helped her find her way back to ThistleClan’s territory, only to find her Clan not there. Instead, Owlfang found them and led Cherrybite to the Bear Stones where ThistleClan was sheltering. She spent some time recovering and getting to grips with the land.
In leaf-fall, with tension rising with RedwoodClan, Cherrybite tried her best to prepare for any future conflict. However, her efforts would turn out futile when Owlfang confronted her, asking for kits. Though Cherrybite never thought she would be a mother, she agreed both because she loved Owlfang and because she knew that their kits would be valuable additions to the Clan. This has kept her from adequately preparing for any battle, though she still spars.
