harrierflight
Lichenclan
Longhaired seal point she-cat with white spotting and blue eyes
warrior
she-cat
16 moons
Appearance
Harrierflight is a similar size to the average LichenClan cat, though she is muscular and thickset like her father. In fact, some might say that she is a mini Wispfang. Her pelt colour is very similar, with the same seal point markings and same light fur, with white peppering her undersides and paws. Even the brown on her tail and legs is the same. This similarity is something that Harrierflight is very proud of, although it'll grow to despair in the future.
Her face shape is rather broad, with blue eyes set deeper into her skull. Her fur, too, is long but not that soft, made brittle by the salt air and from the fact that it was never all that soft to begin with.

Personality
✓ Realistic
Harrierflight is not a cat who is caught up in dreams and fantasies that can never be fulfilled. She is grounded with reality, and while she accepts that some cats have hopes and dreams, she makes sure to keep her expectations realistic, and focus on the present.
✓ Courageous
No matter what she is faced with, Harrierflight will stand up to it without fail, no matter how dangerous or life-threatening it may be. She knows that she can rely on her talents and that they will help to carry her through, no matter what, so she fears very little.
- Proud
Harrierflight owns her achievements and (sometimes) her mistakes, and is proud of her family, clan and heritage - aside from her maternal grandfather. She tends to ignore his existence. However, she can sometimes appear a bit arrogant when talking about things like this.
- Patriotic
The amount of pride Harrierflight holds for LichenClan is insane. To her, her clan is everything, and trumps even her family in terms of importance. She would happily kill to prove herself to her leader and clan. However, the loyalty that this exudes can drive her to commit crimes in the name of her clan, and she rationalises her actions with this, to deflect any bad feeling from herself, which could come in troublesome in future.
✗ Envious
Harrierflight finds herself constantly comparing herself to others, and if others are succeeding more than she is herself, her mindset will lead her to obsess over that and try to outmatch the other - either that, or she'll grow to hate the other, because they have something that she can 'never' have.
✗ Brutish
Harrierflight is a strong she-cat, and she doesn't often think before throwing herself into situations, making her quite brutal to play with. As she grew, Harrierflight knew that this wouldn't bode into a queen, so tried to play it down, although as she lost her faith in her father and became reclusive, her claws became her word of choice once again.
History
Harrierkit was born to Merlintail and Wispfang as one of a litter of two, alongside a brother named Shellkit. Wispfang had made quite the name for himself in LichenClan, known as one of Minnowstar's best supporters and a bloodthirsty tyrant in his own right, beating up and killing cats for almost what seemed like fun. As controversial as this was, Harrierkit didn't see this issue at first. To her, he was her father, and her idol. The family also half-adopted and helped raise Copperkit.
From a young age, Harrierkit was desperate for her father's attention, making sure that she got attention when she wanted it. To her, this wasn't a game, but a competition, and Shellkit was the competitor. Harrierkit was a loud and rather brutish kit, and didn't make it a secret that she was the more 'dominant' of the duo. In fact, Shellkit would often find himself at the brunt of what could be called bullying, nearly. Harrierkit had no idea that she was outright bullying her brother at the time, but would become all too clear.
Despite her desire to be like her father, Harrierkit knew her place in the clan. She was a she-cat, she knew that she was to be a queen at some point, just to be a mate to someone else. She wasn't a front-line fighter, but that didn't mean she couldn't have the skill of one, right?
After a rather competitive childhood, Harrierpaw found herself apprenticed to Tidechaser, her own grandmother. At first, Harrierpaw expected that Tidechaser would force her into a more queenly role, and just kept quiet and followed. Yet, despite Tidechaser seemingly wanting to see more energy in her granddaughter, the duo never really bonded. There was always a wall between them, and Harrierpaw never really focused on their relationship - something that she regrets now, as she believes that Tidechaser just sees her as a failure and something not to be bothered with, instead of a good family heir.
Otherwise, Harrierpaw found herself falling into bitterness during her apprenticeship. It didn't escape her notice that Shellpaw took most of Wispfang's attention now, and she despised her brother for it - especially because she could see that her brother was not the warrior that Wispfang needed. Shellpaw was a coward, and scaped through training, and it infuriated her. He needed to be better. Didn't he realise how lucky he was? Harrierpaw was desperate for her father's attention, and yet she was pushed to the side. It felt as if she was alone. As she grew, as did her hatred towards her brother, who didn't seem to value what he did. Who didn't seem to deserve it.
Later on into apprenticeship, came the Great War. Harrierpaw fought for her clan, yet her training was not refined and she struggled majorly, yet she tried. Her anger would only continue to rise with two realisations - Shellpaw had nearly died, which to her just seemed like an insult. All of that favouritism from Wispfang and still couldn't hold his own? Yet, that faded into the background upon finding out that Wispfang had turned on his own clan, his own kin, to fight with the rebels.
How dare he?
Wispfang turned against his own clan, his own family, his own blood, and for what? The respect that Harrierpaw had for her father fell straight down at that, and she no longer wanted anything to do with him. Yet, she still yearned for that approval, because now with no cat to focus on, she really realised that she was alone. She had lost trust of her family, had no friends, and had basically villanised her brother. Now what?
Not long after, Wispfang was found dead, mauled by a fox, and that was the last straw. Harrierpaw no longer knew what to feel. Truly alone, and everything that she had tried to prove.. that was useless. Even her brother was able to find friends, despite being as useless as she saw him as. Tidechaser didn't find anything in her apprentice, either, so even though Harrierpaw now tried to show that she was important, it bounced off of empty ears.
As Harrierpaw stood in front of the new leader, Yarrowstar, getting her name later than her brother due to failing her previous assessment before the war, she felt nothing but numb and bitter. There was no reason to be here.
She didn't deserve the name of Harrierflight.
From then on, Harrierflight just kept to herself. She didn't try to socialise, didn't try to do anything, or stand out. She still wanted validation, oh so desperately, yet no one wanted to give her the time of day.
It was a rather odd mindset to be in. To her, Wispfang was an idolised villian. Shellshine was a coward who deserved everything he got, Merlintail was too passive, Tidechaser was cold and careless, and no one else woukd give her the time of day. Instead, Harrierflight just tried to keep her paws in line to try and work something out, her thoughts slowly consuming her inside, yet no one would try to know.
It seemed never-ending, really.
