Hemlockheart fits the the LichenClan stereotype extremely. Like his clan-mates, he has a lithe, agile build, great for navigating the caves and swimming the lake from time to time. His fur is longer than the average LichenClan cat, but it still does a fine job of repelling water from his core. Despite his fur length, it doesn't really make the tom look large like a RedwoodClan camp. In fact, his fur is only really long near his mane and tail, the rest of his fur is slicked down and medium length. Even if he lacks long thick fur, his long legs help him look a bit larger.
Most of the tom's fur off-white color. It was once a pristine life, but warrior life has taken the shine from his pelt. His extremities are all blue/gray. This includes his face, ears, tail, paws, and back. His eyes are blue, but their slanted shape makes the blue appear black. Lastly, Hemlockheart has the stereotypical shape of an oriental cat. His head is wedge shaped, his ears and long, and his muzzle is long. He carries a lot of muscle, but his build is still thin and wiry.

Personality
From a very young age, Hemlockheart had been driven by an innate desire to love and shield all of his clan from any possible dangers. The blue point tom grew up extremely protective and wanted nothing more than a safe clan. This goal has shaped the tom into a strong warrior, even if it is a bit naive to think he can protect everyone.
His ideals were innocent initially, but as he was exposed more and more to the dangers of clan-life, the gallant tom slowly hardened into a cat who came to blame the harshness of clan-life on his clan-mates. It's not the other clans who are strong, rather it's the clan that is weak. After all, LichenClan has been passive for generations, it only makes sense that the clan's capabilities have been cut in half. Because of this, Hemlockheart can be extremely strict to cats who he deems weak. Apprentices in LichenClan face the stern side of the lanky tom often, seeing as he has a knack for training apprentices in a way that "truly" prepares them for life as a warrior. His methods may be brutal, but are necessary in his eyes.
Hemlockheart sometimes questions if he was born in the wrong clan. His violent view of life better resembles the likes of the forest dwelling ThistleClan. Regardless of his mindset, Hemlockheart is extremely loyal to his clan and StarClan. He supports Minnowstar devoutly in her path to make a more religious LichenClan. StarClan is everything and he often claims that their ancestors are the ones who advised him to travel down the path he's travelling. His feelings for the other clans are opposite of his feelings for his clan. He thinks the other two aren't worthy of their territory and should be sacrificed in order to truly please StarClan.
Hemlockheart isn't all bad though. His hardened side completely contrasts his caring, sociable side. Along with his protective nature came an aptitude for conversation, something rare in LichenClan. The pointed tom often finds himself carrying most discussions, but he hardly minds it. In arguments, Hemlockheart is known to share his thoughts without much thought. The warrior is extremely opinionated and isn't reluctant to say what he believes.
The needs of the clan will always come before socialization though. Hemlockheart will do anything to obtain the glorious future that StarClan has promised for the clan, even if the means of gaining that future are brutal.

History
Hemlockheart's first memories are of him going around camp, begging each and every cat in the clan to tell them their names and chat with him. The little ball of fluff didn't know why, but there was a deep longing to meet everyone. Despite the odd looks he got from warriors who worried for the future of such a talkative little kitten, Hemlock-kit pressed on until he could recite everyone's names without any effort. It was only obvious that a cat who had spent so much time getting to know everyone would be traumatized when bloodied patrols rushed into camp. This sparked something in the tom, a need to protect... It was almost as if StarClan had whispered into his ears - defend. Something a kitten his size couldn't do.
Almost immediately, Hemlock-kit became bent on learning all the battle moves he could so he could protect the older warriors in the future. He was always battling with his siblings. There was never a moment when he wasn't tumbling around with his sister, Hollykit who never took their sparring matches as seriously as Hemlock-kit did. "We need to train so we can be warriors!" He'd chirp. Hollykit would just shrug.
The young tom continued to practice his moves until he became an apprentice. He was ecstatic to finally have a cat to teach him real moves. But his mentor, Basscloud wasn't exactly keen on teaching the blue-point kit battle moves. The leader had paired the two carefully. He was passionate about a pacifist clan, and wanted to curb Hemlock-kit's 'dangerous' tendencies before they got too out of hand. This didn't stop Hemlockpaw from finding a way to learn the moves he dreamed of mastering, however. When he wasn't learning useless tips from Basscloud, he was training himself. And when he wasn't training himself, he was begging more battle-savvy cats to teach him all they knew. It was only a matter of time before Hemlockpaw began to excel on the battle-field. Something that has just been a meager wish became a talent to the tom. Now, he could finally protect the cats he cared about.
Soon enough, the blue-point feline earned the name Hemlockheart for his strong ideals. It was around this time that he would be officially introduced to what it really meant to be a warrior. In the bitter midst of leaf-bare, he, his sister Hollypool, and two other warriors were out on patrol near the RedwoodClan border. Everyone's bellies were as empty as their freshkill piles so it was only natural that tensions would be high. What had first been a heated discussion between two patrols, quickly became a deadly skirmish. Hemlockheart was quick to show off his skills, but it wasn't enough to keep everyone else safe. From the corner of his eyes, he saw blood drench the snow covered ground. His sister panted dangerously as blood seeped from her side. The deep wound was enough to stop the feuding, but not enough to stop the blackness that began to enclose Hemlockheart's heart. He was traumatized. Why did this have to happen? Why couldn't Hollypool defend herself? Why couldn't he defend her?
The patrol, somber, returned back to camp. The medicine cat was quick to treat his sister and had even returned to Hemlockheart with good news. Hollypool would live, and she could still be a warrior. Hemlockheart was happy that his sister would live, but he still felt at odds with what had happened that day. He thought of his mentor. He thought of his sister's mentor. Had they been as weak-willed as his mentor. Could Hollypool have protected herself if only the clan wasn't so pacifistic?
Despite the negative thoughts that plagued the warriors heart, Hemlockheart was beginning to put the incident behind him. This was until coughs and sniffles began to echo through camp. Greencough spread through LichenClan like a wild fire and it was only inevitable that the dangerous illness would eventually manifest in his still weak sister. Half a moon later, Hollypool was coughing blood in the medicine cat den... Then she was dead.
Hemlockheart grieved deeply for his sister, and once again, his thoughts grew dark. But this time, his sister was actually gone, and it grew even harder to deny his ill feelings for the clan. Denial grew in his mind and he soon began to blame the clan for what had happened to Hollypool. The clan was weak. It was the clan's fault that Hollypool had died. With this in mind, the tom made a decision. For the clan's sake, for StarClan's sake, he'd make a stronger LichenClan.
Hemlockheart took his first strides toward his goal upon getting his first apprentice. He was gifted a shy young tom who was petrified at the idea of fighting and becoming a warrior. The leader must of thought that the apprentice would never change, but Hemlockheart was keen on doing just that. The first few months of training were normal, but he soon grew more intense. He encouraged the apprentice to do dangerous things, deeming that the only way to truly prepare a cat for their future. By the time the apprentice was of warrior age, he was just as talented as Hemlockheart was. His second and third apprentice's were even more successful.
The warrior soon found this brutal form of training to be a passion of his. It was dangerous, but he felt that it was necessary. The tom slowly works for a stronger LichenClan, and has currently taken up training apprentices that aren't his along with warriors who missed out on the opportunity to become a true warrior. One day, Hemlockheart truly will make a stronger LichenClan, or so he hopes.
