Jaythroat
ThistleClan
seal point bicolor she-cat with blue eyes
warrior
she-cat
34 moons
Appearance
Jaythroat was born with an alabaster coat that darkened as she aged, her snow-colored fur turning a rich, umber brown with each moon. The brown first shadowed her face, then legs and tail, and lastly, as the seasons turned, most of her flank followed suit. While the umber brown claimed her points with its darkest hue, the areas around her neck, crown, shoulder, and hocks only ever shaded to a lighter, tawny brown. The rest of the she-cat's coat, from her stomach to her feet, is the same white from her kithood.
In terms of build, Jaythroat is on the smaller side. Even for a Thistleclan warrior, the she-cat is shorter and thinner in stature. She boasts her father's stout limbs, and her mother's feminine musculature, a frame that is much more lithe and nimble than dense and compact. Her features are rounded in nature, which creates the illusion that the she-cat is a kind and docile foe, and not one who would be a threat in battle.
However, the she-cat's face tells a different tale. Her emotions are transparent. It is rather easy for someone to tell when Jaythroat is irritated or downright volatile. She has large, expressive blue eyes, which contrast greatly with her mostly dark coat. Her face resembles her mother's, carrying the same soft bends and slopes, a facade that is much more circular than angular and long. The most striking feature Jaythroat carries, perhaps, is the triangular marking she has on her nose. The mark is the same dark umber on her flank and almost camouflages her coal black nose. The rest of her muzzle is the alabaster white from her kithood, while a dark mask covers her eyes and ears.

Personality
Bold -- Jaythroat entered the world with her notorious battle cry, or so she claims, and this tidbit has continued to mold her into an audacious she-cat with little deliberation or class. She is almost adventurous to a fault, possessing a habit to stick her nose into whatever crevice, nook, or situation she discovers, even if the circumstances are less than ideal. This has led her to become brazen in a semi-heroic manner. While most of her decision are reckless and crass, some have allowed her to come out the other end as a fearless individual.
Ambitious -- The moment the she-cat understood the clan's hierarchical structure, she decided she wanted to be leader. This decision came from her dissatisfaction with the mere warrior status. While she admired her parent's for various reasons, it was her uncle, Firfoot who interested the she-cat most. The tom was a senior warrior in the clan, and there were whispers among her clan-mates that spoke of deputy-ship for the tom. Hearing those rumors, Jaythroat knew she wanted to strive as much as he did, to follow in her uncle's paw-steps and eventually lead Thistleclan as a respectable force.
Rash -- With her boldness comes the she-cat's rash nature and her inability to think before she acts. Jaythroat does not ruminate over her decisions, think about consequences, or even considers the future for that matter. Unless it concerns her dreams to become leader, the she-cat devotes little time to the issue or hypothetical scenario. The she-cat does not doubt herself or wastes time with nerves or anxiousness. She lives in the moment, which has caused her to be rather careless, immature, and irrational at times.
Blunt -- The she-cat carries little craft or wit. Her insults are blunt and orientated in fact. If Jaythroat does not like someone or a situation, she will not waste time in false niceties. Whether she lacks the cleverness or simply does not care, the she-cat will not fake her emotions for the benefit of another cat. She carries a rather emotive face that is easy to read, which makes her irritation or whatever it is that she's feeling as obvious as the sun on a blistering summer day. This has caused her to come off as rather rude and unlikable to some of her clan-mates.
Dense -- Since Jaythroat lives in the moment and wastes little time with rumination, she can be rather dense at times. She wrestles to read between the lines and cannot detect sarcasm or non-verbals cues as well as cleverer Thistleclan cats. She sometimes has to be told more than once to follow a direction or order, which can lead to bouts of frustration and ire. She does not like to feel like an idiot, so she will sometimes fake what she knows in order to come off as smart and well-versed in clan histories or code.
History
Yewthorn had been with several she-cats before he settled down with Morningmist. The two warriors were an unusual romance. Yewthorn was a talkative socialite, well-known across clan borders as an infectious schmooze, while Morningmist was a silent spectator within her own clan, choosing to remain in the shadows. Few ever envisioned their eventual courtship, but as the two warriors spent more and more time together, the more their relationship made sense.
As an observer, Morningmist could see Yewthorn for who he was, someone who was sweet, thoughtful, and kind-of-charming, while Yewthorn could shower the she-cat with the attention and commendation she deserved. They were infatuated with one another. Even with Yewthorn's secretive history, one that involved two cross-clan relationships, Morningmist was willing to work with the tom and amend his darkest secrets in order to continue their nameless affair.
As the two became more involved with one another, Yewthorn caved and asked the she-cat to spend the night with him, and to their surprise, Morningmist soon discovered she was pregnant. Nervous, the she-cat wrestled to tell Yewthorn, and it was not until he returned from a border skirmish with Redwoodclan, torn and bloodied, did she reveal the news to him. Startled, the tom vowed to never leave her side and to be there for her no matter the circumstances. It was then that the two decided to become mates.
Two moons later, Morningmist gave birth to four healthy kits, three she-cats and tom. They were named Featherkit, Swallowkit, Dovekit, and Jaykit after the birds, and feathers, that bonded their parents together at the start of their unlikely friendship. The last born, Jaykit exited her mother's womb with an ear-splitting shriek, a sound her parent's would remember, even after the birth, and later refer to as her first ever battle cry. This would suit the she-cat well and lay a foundation for her bold and rash nature.
As Jaykit unfurls with the moon, her first month on the island, an ambitious streak seizes her like a sudden snare. She knows little about the world she inhabits, but she does know that her birth marks a turn for Thistleclan, a benediction for new life and new blood.
