Orchid that
blooms at night
Tribe of Floating Stones
longhair silver classic tabby she-cat with white
prey-hunter
she-cat
33 moons
Appearance
Orchid takes after her father in appearance. Her long, wispy fur is a bright silver streaked with black tabby swirls and stripes. She comes to an average size, with graceful limbs covered with lithe muscles toned from her prey-hunter training. Her tail is long and sweeps across Orchid with it's feathery plume of black and white fur.
While the bulk of Orchid's pelt is covered with black, silver shines through along her limbs, face, underbelly, and tail. Her paws are covered with white socks
The she-cat's face is a soft triangle. The beautiful silver of her fur takes prominence on her face. Long white whiskers grace the sides of her maw. Her jaw is white, which fades down into her white chest as well. Her nose is a spot of dark red edge with black. Beautiful amber eyes are centered in her face, likening the she-cat to her father even more.

Personality
Many have come to know Orchid as an energetic, happy, carefree soul. She is known as a she-cat who loves to play, and is unafraid to ask even the most serious of stone guards to a game of tag. This energy was only accentuated by her optimistic and cheerful personality. Orchid had an innocence that allowed her to view the world around her unafraid. However, this innocence left the door wide open for a future of pain as Orchid finally came to understand life is never as simple as it seems.
Orchid has changed from the positive spirit she once was. Tormented by pain and loss, the she-cat now has a haunted look about her. When conflict arises she flinches in fear. Her voice whispers to beg for acceptance and avoid the pain of acknowledging all that she has lost. Fear keeps her from truly facing what is hurting her. She wishes only for harmony, and strives to achieve it in the most conflict-free way she can. It will take much healing of her heart for her to return to her spirited ways. Until then, the happiness she once oozed remains locked deep in her heart for protection.
History
Born the second of two kits to Talon of Owl who Hunts at Dawn and Maple that Burns at Dawn. Orchid has a plethora of half siblings. Her eldest brother, Hemlock where Shade Grows (Maple's son), Hemlock's foster brother Fog that Hang's in Air (no blood relation), and three siblings from a litter between Talon and Blackbird who Carries Winter Frost: Primrose who Flowers by Starless Night, Falcon who Soars on Broken Wing, and Song of River at Dusk.
With such a large family, Orchid always felt loved. Her doting father would always make time to play with her and Starling around his Head Stone-Guard duties. Maple was attentive and caring, looking out for each of her kits young and old. Orchid's life was a happy one. She was born after the curse of the Great Sickness and so lived carefree. When she came of age to become a to-be the rambunctious she-cat threw herself into her training. Hunting is what she loved most after she reconciled with the task of taking a life. It was a solemn and respectful duty, but also one that let her run with the wind and leap in the trees.
Then Fog and a patrol led by Sunrise left the island to warn the Clan of Redwood of danger. The next morning Creek, the Teller, was dead. Another shock to Orchid's peaceful world. Her heart began to race when there was no cause, her stomach roll at the thought of food. What if the patrol never returned? What if they lost more than just Creek? She began to see Talon grow weary as he lead the Tribe in anticipation of the patrol's return. They were lost without a Teller, and no cat knew who they should look to now.
But then the coyotes came. Their numbers on the island grew and grew. In a close encounter Orchid barely escaped the jaws of one as Hemlock rescued her. The event frightened her, and Orchid began to shirk serious conversations and duties in an attempt to ignore the growing danger around her.
When the patrol returned, Orchid felt her hope return. The mysterious fog that had plagued the island and hid the coyotes from their sight was lifted. Fog had returned and claimed the position of Teller after a dream lead him back. All seemed to be righting itself, except the coyotes. Orchid could see that Fog was trying to remedy the problem, but it was a large and difficult problem to solve. As the coyotes became more serious, some cats began to speak up in dissent. Orchid grew uncomfortable with the whispers and silky words of Sumac and others who followed his philosophies. She would trust in Fog, who was as true a brother to Orchid as Hemlock, to lead the Tribe through this hardship.
Then the fire came, and Orchid's spirit was broken completely. In the fire she lost not only her sister Starling, but Fog as well. The horror of the bright flames haunted her, and she drifted in her duties. She forced herself to be happy in appearance when she needed to, but Orchid no longer remembered how happiness felt. Sumac stepped forward and claimed the rank of Teller, and her world continued to lose hope under his rule.
