LEAF-BARE WRITING PROMPTS
Members are encouraged to engage with the seasonal writing prompts, available in each prospective tab above, to help integrate their characters into the current setting and plot.
Seasonal writing prompts change each season and are completely self-paced, and you can engage with them all season long. There are no deadlines, timed-posts, or prizes* available for creating and/or completing a prompt. They are a simply a tool to help create "topical" threads. You can follow a prompt word for word, or change it up and use it as a springboard.
*Seasonal writing prompt threads count toward a New Year's Sun Path if you chose that path.

REDWOODCLAN
RedwoodClan characters can engage with the following prompts:
- Talk about unifying against rogues, rogue heritage, and code-breakers. Question their loyalties openly and report any suspicious behavior to a trusted code cadet: Tigerpool, Antlerstrike, Oaktalon, Ravenfeather, Pollenstorm, Freezingsky, Antlerstrike, Fawnbriar, Milkweedleaf, Crow-watcher, Hollowthorn, or Shadowpaw. Alternatively, reflect on your position as a code-breaker, mixed-rogue, or mixed-blood cat and discuss fears or aspirations to prove loyalty.
- Train with a den-mate(s) in preparation for battle as the fight for Bear Stones continues. Focus on strength-building exercises, team-fighting maneuvers with a battle buddy, tree climbing and fighting, and bulk up on prey.
- Patrol the border alongside the ThistleClan markers at the Bear Stones and watch for rogues. Skirmishes with ThistleClan warriors and rogues are encouraged!
- Prepare for the oncoming frigid temperatures and impenetrable snowfall by hunting to replenish the fresh-kill pile, gathering herbs for Asterstorm, and reinforcing nests with warm bedding materials.
- Whisper about the tunnels among den-mates and consider a venture into their depths to aid the tunnelers. Is Finchstar right to dismiss Firstar's claims? Or is there something dangerous lurking underground, responsible for their missing den-mates?
THISTLECLAN
ThistleClan characters can engage with the following prompts:
- Deter all trespassers with tooth and claw! Deaths in the Clan, aggression with rogues, and sightings of Tribe cats have stretched patrols thin as cats recover from the dark influences of the underground and further attention is directed north. Continue warding off those aggressors and crazed lunatics at all costs!
- Continue guarding the Bear Stones, even as it becomes more difficult to protect! Something's brewing on the horizon and ThistleClan needs to be on the defense! Practice camouflaging techniques and defensive maneuvers in the snow.
- Explore the strange symptoms and side effects of venturing into the tunnels with Meadowshine and other den-mates. Maybe there is a cure for the visions cats have been seeing and headaches... or maybe not.
- Seek out the warm embrace of a loved one or a much-needed break in the medicine cat's den as sickness begins to boom, and the herb stores fall under stress. Cats are seeking any form of relief from their sniffles.
- Prepare for leaf-bare's unforgiving nights and impenetrable frosts by going out on hunting trips to pad the Clan's larders, digging out the dead tangled brush to encourage new-leaf herb growth, or reinforcing the bramble wall to ward off the cold. But watch out for predators! With resources so low, there are greater dangers than just hunger to stave off.

LICHENCLAN
LichenClan characters can engage with the following prompts:
- Confide to a council member, Quickstar, Emberscorch, Deadeye, or Ghostface, or a den-mate, about the mounting tension in LichenClan. Despite Quickstar's compromise, traditionalists continue to meet in secret, concerned about their customs. Conversations can be secret meetings, agreements, full-on arguments, or attempts to change another's mind.
- Venture out of camp and into the cold on a hunting or exploratory territory patrol under the council's new compromise for queens. Queens are encouraged to leave camp with their mates or a trusted friend or family member.
- Search for missing den-mates or family members by either sneaking into the tunnels alone, despite the warnings or posted guards, or gather a formidable group of at least three warriors. Experience an unwelcome and uncomfortable presence lurking in the shadows, one that is never seen, but felt. Hear the thump thump thump of a heartbeat, a hot breath on a nape. Escape...or not.
- Seek out Foxglovefire for the strange symptoms after going into the tunnels or the oncoming of a leaf-bare illness, only to receive incorrect or an inadequate healing session. This can later lead to a concerning injury and/or illness. Question Foxglovefire's position as a medicine cat or reinforce Caveflower's vision that she was chosen by StarClan.
- Brave the treacherous winds and blowing snow to stock the Clan's fresh-kill pile and dwindling herb stores. Large hunting expeditions can band together to drive out prey from the brush in the birch forest, or smaller ice fishing pairs can spend hours out of Lake Superior, waiting for fish.
TRIBE
Tribe of Floating Stones characters can engage with the following prompts:
- Travel across the treacherous Estuary and spread Foxtail's prophecies (dm captain for a vision) to whoever will listen, braving inclement weather, hostile animals, and potentially dangerous outsiders and warriors. Tribe-mates can also hunt for information, refuse to deliver the message, and/or discuss the dangers of sharing these omens as well.
- Seek out Foxtail or a trusted Tribe-mate over the symptoms of venturing into the tunnels or a cold-related illness, or gather the remaining herbs before the heavy snows and frosts kills them.
- Organize a big game hunt in the snow and take down an nontraditional source of prey, such as a predator, to help replenish the Tribe's food stores. Ice fishing on the frozen lake for large trout or digging for hibernating frogs and toads are also popular food sources during the Time of Frozen Water.
- Clear snow and debris from the grave-sites on the Stone that Never Ends and pay homage to the ancestors, praying for them to guide Foxtail and the tribe during the Time of Frozen Water.
- Request the help of a stone-guard to make warmer improvements to a den, and shut out the cold! The cold season gives the Tribe a chance to show off their ingenuity through coziness.

OUTSIDERS
Outsider characters, including Celandine rogues, tunnel cats, and unaffiliated rogues and loners can engage with the following prompts if applicable:
- Try to find shelter before the worst of winter begins and brave the unforgiving land for prey, even if this means venturing into Clan or Tribe territory. The Abandoned Campground and its standing two-leg cabins offer the safest dens, but watch out for predators and any lurking Clan cats, hungry for a fight and desperate to ward off any outsiders.
- Struggle to hunt in outsider land, risk a fight by hunting in clan territory, or feel the effects of starvation due to a lack of resources (Celandine)
- Seek treatment from Mercury for an illnesses. Struggle to hunt and fight due to sickness and injuries, or hunt for other weakened rogues on Poppy's orders (Celandine)
- Murmur among each other about the mysterious rock Icesong found with Meadowshine, and the growing tension above. Is it all connected to the unsettling presence lurking through the tunnels? Where did the rock come from and what does it mean? Is StarClan still here? (Tunnel cats)
- Seek out any missing Clan or Tribe cats in the tunnels and guide them safely home. Offer them reprise from their lingering tunnel-related symptoms or a comforting shoulders—as many encountered unspeakable horrors, including apparitions and visions. (Tunnel cats).
