Appearance
Crocuscloud was named as such for his long fluffy fur. He has red and white mackerel tabby markings and his white-spotting is snow-white and still as soft as it was when he was a kit. His face is rounded with a short muzzle and he inherited his mother's folded ears. His eyes are a bright amber, also just like his mom.
While of a tall stature, you almost would not know it. Often slinking into crowds or into the shadows to remain unseen, Crocuscloud comes across a lot smaller than he really is. While his unique appearance can seem striking, Crocuscloud is often shrinking in on himself to avoid attention.

Personality
Gentle and Kind-hearted: Crocuscloud is a gentle soul with a kind heart and has eyes that light up with laughter. He is sweet and friendly to those who know him though he rarely goes out of his way to make new friends unless someone chooses to befriend him. He loves to laugh and spend time with the friends he does have and he cherishes them greatly.
Shy and Soft-Spoken: He loves being other cats so long as the attention isn't all on him. He would much rather be at the edges of a group. He also benefits from being with cats one on one and better forms relationships in quiet moments together as he's quite soft-spoken and reserved.
Family-Oriented and Avoidant: Spending time in the nursery is simultaneously one of his favourite things to do and this most nerve wracking as he likes to avoid most traditional leaning clan members and relatives - though he loves to play with the new kits whenever he can, regardless. He avoids traditionalism and the loyalists as much as he can and dislikes obsession with status and image.
Anxious and Insecure: Crocuscloud is insecure in his own abilities and traits and has a lot of generalized anxiety about the world. He also has the habit of being a pushover who would rather suffer in silence than admit he needs or wants something. He'd much rather go with the flow than speak his mind and garner any extra attention.
History
Kithood: Crocuskit was born in Greenleaf to Rotflower and Driftfeather. He was born into the prestigious 'flower family', one of the last pure and traditional families. Crocuskit was far from the only kit in the nursery around this time. Alongside his siblings, Vervainkit and Gustkit, there were several other litters of kits born to LichenClan around the same time after the floods.
Very soon after the kits were weaned, Rotflower left the nursery and spent as little time with her kits as possible. The kits were then raised by their great-grandmother Caveflower and Driftfeather who each had differing ideas on the way the kits should be raised. Caveflower wanted the kits to be raised traditional, and Driftfeather wanted to raise them with a revolutionist mindset. This dissonance often had Crocuskit mute and in the shadows, just wishing that someone would come play with him rather than argue over top of him.
The first six moons of Crocuskit's life were a bit lonely, despite being surrounded by so many cats of his own age. Crocuskit was often found on the outskirts of the nursery, he would watch the other kits play and interact and only join in if he was directly invited. When it came to family, Vervainkit drifted to Caveflower, and Crocuskit spent most of his time with his father Driftfeather and thus the two began to drift further apart. Kithood took a sudden turn when during the family baptism, Gustkit nearly drowned. It wasn't long before the little kit grew ill and passed away, leaving only Crocuskit and Vervainkit.
Apprenticeship: In his sixth moon, Crocuspaw was given his new name. Apprenticeship was tough for Crocuspaw due to his anxious nature and impatient and unsupportive mentor. He spent a lot of time avoiding having to interact with his mentor and going above and beyond in his duties to avoid getting into trouble. There were so many apprentices around the same time that it was easy for Crocuspaw to slip by unnoticed.
More tragedy struck and not long after becoming an apprentice, his mother Rotflower died from falling off of a cliff. Crocuspaw did not witness this event, unlike Vervainpaw, but despite not being close with his mother, Crocuspaw felt the loss deeply.
Warrior: Crocuscloud received his warrior name alongside Vervainroot and many of the other kits who had been born around the same time he was. While many of these cats have started being paired off into family betrothals, including his brother, Crocuscloud has managed to avoid this and is happier that way. The last thing he would want was an unhappy relationship borne only out of duty like his parents had.
Crocuscloud has mostly kept to himself when it comes to clan politics up until this point. He does not agree with traditionalism and the loyalists but neither is he a full revolutionist, though this is mostly due to him disliking conflict. Once pressed, Crocuscloud will pick the side of the revolutionists, but until then he's happy to be seen as neutral in the clan conflict.
He likes the current leadership of Quickstar and Emberscorch, though he has seen a few iterations of each position already even though he's only a young warrior. He agrees that the tunnels and the moon cave should be off limits and that everyone should be contributing to the clan - even the queens, who in his opinion gossip far too much and put too much importance in the family lines. In regards to StarClan, Crocuscloud is pretty neutral. He believes in StarClan but he doesn't go out of his way to pray for them outside of moments of desperation.
