RIDGEPAW
THISTLECLAN
rusty black ticked tabby tom with pale green eyes
apprentice
cis male (he/him)
9 moons
Appearance
Ridgepaw, when fully grown, will be slightly taller and larger than the average cat, but be of fairly average build. He leans on the stockier side in terms of muscle mass. He will be a force to be reckoned with once he’s full-grown. He walks with a swagger in his stride, appearing very comfortable in his own skin. Although relaxed and confident, he will puff his chest out and hold his head and tail high occasionally.
His fur is of medium length, giving him a fluffy chest, underbelly, and tail. While not a diligent groomer, he does make an effort to look presentable for she-cats he finds attractive. Most of his pelt is red like red clay soil. He also smells like dirt and pine. He has a thick black stripe on the top of his head that runs down his back to the very end of his tail, and black ticking found throughout his fur. However, he does have stark white patches in his rusty fur. His muzzle is mostly white that comes to a peak between his eyes, and connects to a wide patch on his neck. There is another white patch that covers most of his belly and is vaguely heart-shaped, and all four of his paws bear white socks. His pawpads are black.
Ridgepaw’s face is a bit wider than most cat’s with a round muzzle. His thick neck and cheek fur helps give it a bit of a round shape. His ears are a bit pointy and of average size, and his eyes are round and pale green like the algae that covers a bog. Usually, his features are relaxed. As he ages, his face will become slightly sharper and less rounded.

Personality
Ridgepaw has a carefree and optimistic demeanor, although he is frivolous and flaky with his relationships. He does care for his Clanmates and the cats around him, and doesn’t wish anyone harm. He’s loyal to ThistleClan, although his loyalty is shaky, especially when it comes to cats he’s romantically interested in.
+Easygoing: On the outside, Ridgepaw is incredibly easygoing and content. He’s rarely upset or stressed about anything, and tries to avoid conflict. He is relaxed and relatively flexible with unexpected changes. If he happens to lose a spar or some other competition, he carries good sportsmanship and it’s hard to catch him talking down on anyone. However, he sometimes dislikes cats who are always grouchy. He takes things in stride and generally, it’s really difficult to get on his nerves. This makes him really open-minded, more so than some of his stricter Clanmates, which may lead to him being friendlier to outsiders and cats from other Clans.
+Happy: Because he’s so relaxed and calm, Ridgepaw’s generally a really happy tom. He’s content with himself and his life. He’s enthusiastic about challenges, especially competitions and duels, and completing his training. He smiles often, and wants the best for his Clanmates (even though some of them get on his nerves). This tom is a great cat to go to if you need to relax after a hard day of training.
-Irresponsible: Despite all of Ridgepaw’s enthusiasm, he tends to be irresponsible, especially when it comes to other cats. He’s slightly more responsible about his apprentice duties, if only until he becomes a warrior. When a cat tries to complain to him or argue with him, he has a bad habit of brushing them off and not taking them seriously. This can lead to even more inflated conflicts. His cause for shrugging other’s off is because he wants to keep good vibes. He feels like conflict of any kind is bad and tries to avoid it– to his and others detriments.
-Flirty: Ridgepaw is one of the flirtiest cats on the island. He’s confident and charming and lets she-cats know if he’s into them, whether she wants to hear it or not. He lacks a certain self-control when it comes to being flirty, unfortunately. If they happen to voice discontent with his lust, he doesn’t understand why. Who wouldn’t want to share a nest with him?
History
2024: Ridgekit was born to two ThistleClan warriors in the early leafbare of 2024 as a single kit. His parents didn’t hold much true love for each other, although his mother loved him very much. She spoiled him and defended him from anyone who tried to punish him for his antics. This led to an inflated sense of importance on Ridgekit’s part, but his mother tried to squash this when she noticed it, and emphasized generosity and friendliness toward others. His kithood was also filled with stories from battles he didn’t get to be in, such as RedwoodClan’s raid on ThistleClan that happened when he was a tiny kit, and ThistleClan’s retaliation, but these never led to a sense of ill-will toward RedwoodClan cats. He thought his Clan already had everything they could need. Instead, he wished to be a part of the battles for the thrill.
With Firfoot now their leader after challenging Stagstar to a duel and winning, Ridgepaw thinks he’s pretty cool. He was too young to realize the enormity of Firstar’s actions at the time, but now that time has passed, his opinion of Firstar isn’t really negative at all. He doesn’t remember much of Stagstar, but does think Firstar is much cooler than him– he even perhaps looks up to the older tom from time to time, and generally hopes that one day he can be as strong and awesome as ThistleClan’s older warriors.
Once he became six moons old, Ridgepaw was apprenticed to [mentor]. As a young apprentice, he got to watch, but unfortunately didn’t get to participate in the Tournament. It was the most exciting thing he’s ever seen, but didn’t especially envy those who participated. He thinks he’d be more suited to participate if he was a warrior. In the meantime, he’s been diligently training and challenging his denmates to friendly fights.
