Not too tall, not too short, Star stands at 9.5” at the shoulder. She’s of and incredibly average height. The same goes for her build. With a long body and a skinny build, it’s pretty dang easy to see which path she will take once completing her to-be training. Despite not being overly tall, she is also fairly gangly, with long legs and a fairly long, feathery tail.
At the end of her long legs sit four small, almost dainty paws. Couple that with pink paw pads and toe pads, and soft fur, her paws are honestly adorable.
Her pelt is long, soft, and fluffy. Plush white fur covers her frame, helping to hide just how skinny and gangly she really is. However, it’s not just white fur that covers her body. Star is a calico, and as such, has a mixture of red and black patches of fur on her. Mostly clustered on her tail and head, though there are a scant few on her back, these patches break up the otherwise solid white.
Faint classic tabby markings swirl on her larger ginger patches, though they end abruptly when reaching her solid black patches.
Ginger and black patched ears sit atop Star’s head. Her forehead is pure white, as is most of her face. Her muzzle is narrow, yet incredibly strong, and ends with a dark, dusty rose colored nose. Her face itself it fluffy and round, giving her a very youthful appearance.
Like her sister, Star sports heterochromatic eyes. Both small and walnut shaped, her left eye is a beautiful yellow-green, while her right eye is a gorgeous azure blue. Starting between them and covering most of her muzzle, sits a small ginger patch.
The most eye catching part of her looks however, are her burn scars the patchy fur that litter her back and left side.
The most obvious of the scars covers most of the left side of her face. No fur grows there, and due to the extend of the scarring, she has incredibly weak eyesight in her left eye. While her hearing was luckily unaffected, her left ear is ragged and wavy, pinched oddly due to the mass of scar tissue.
Starting at her left shoulder and reaching to her left elbow is another large burn scar, one that causes her stiffness in that limb due to its presence around the joint. Further down on her left leg sit a few patches of burn scars. On the lower part of her back left leg sits another large scar, encompassing most of the lower limb.
Starting around the middle of her left side and reaching towards her stomach is the largest of her burn scars, and the second most obvious after her face. Smaller burn scars sit on her tail. All in all, around 20% of her body is covered in visible scars.
What remains of the fur on her left side is patch and thin, barely hiding even more burn scars underneath them.

Personality
+ Altruistic- While she may come off as disinterested in others, Star has an incredible sense of selflessness, and often wants nothing more than to help others.
+ Sweet- While often unfortunately hidden by her shy and skittish nature, Star is a very sweet, very genuine cat. She will go out of her way to do things such as create little pieces of art to make others happy.
+ Creative- With the first season and a half of her life spent alone in a cave with her mother, Star was forced to become creative. When Sky left to hunt or gather herbs, the scarred molly had to come up with ways to entertain herself. As such, she’s become very creative.
+ Empathetic- If there is anything Star knows about, it’s how awful living can get from day to day. Because if this, she finds it incredibly easy to empathize with others.
+ Soft-spoken- When it was just her and Sky, being quiet was always incredibly important in order to stay safe. This quietness was never really something she grew out of, and something she probably never will grow out of.
+ Analytical- While she may be quiet and kind, Star is by no means unintelligent. Forced to figure out how certain things worked on her own due to it just being her and Sky and due to the fact that Sky wasn’t there to answer every question she might have, Star is very analytical.
+ Fiercely Loyal- The most surprising trait she has, Star is a fiercely loyal cat, despite her being a shy, skittish loner. While not a good fighter, she will defend those she cares about to her final breath.
- A Loner- Due in part due to the fact that she spent so much time on her own when young, and in part due to her never truly being extremely outgoing, Star is a loner. She finds it hard to talk to others, and aside from her family, she will really only have a small pawful of friends. Not only that, but she just prefers to be on her own. Often times, she can be found doing solo hunting patrols or just being on her own in the wilderness.
- Shy- A symptom of her being a loner, Star is very shy. Despite how kind of a soul she is, and despite how much she would love to interact with her tribemates without fear, she just… can’t. Being around too many cats scares her.
- Skittish- To say that Star is skittish is an understatement. Stemming from the trauma she experienced as a kit, she is incredibly easy to scare. All it takes is someone coming from her bad side suddenly or speaking up suddenly for her to end up spooking.
- Insecure- With so many intense scars, Star has a hard time believing herself to be anything but ugly. No matter how often her family tells her she looks fine, she refuses to believe it. And her insecurity doesn’t stop at her looks. Due to her status as the eldest tribe-born to-be, Star thinks she’s less intelligent.
- Indecisive- Aside from knowing which path she wants to follow, Star has a hard time making decisions. This is a symptom of her insecurities and skittishness, as she often doesn’t trust herself to make any kind of decisions.
- Standoffish- Despite her kind and demure nature, Star’s nature often makes her come across as standoffish and harsh. She doesn’t want to be, as she doesn’t like being seen as mean, but she really finds it hard appearing more welcoming.
- Easily Overstimulated- Spending her first season with just Sky for company left Star as a cat who can get very easily overstimulated by multiple conversations going on at once.
History
Born to Flint Beneath Rushing Water and Sky Where Thunder Roars (blitzen) alongside her sister Moonlight Broken by Burning Branches (lightning), Star’s memory of her first moon is scant. She holds no memory of her sister, and the only one of her father. That first moon was fairly normal, well, as normal as it could be.
When Fog received his vision of Star and Moonlight’s life, it was not a happy one. It was of a tree, bathed white by moonlight with stars on it’s branches that held within them the light of the stars. The tree had stood tall for a moment, before bursting into flames. The flames had swallowed the tree, burning its branches and blackening the petals of its flowers before the moon was completely swallowed by the smoke and flames. Yet, despite the smoke and fire, the stars continued to shine, refusing to die.
It was a vision of death. Of the two kittens, one was destined to die, while the other was destined to live. And so, they were named as such. Star Shining on Blackened Petals was the one who was to live, while Moonlight Broken by Burning Branches was the one who was to die. No one could’ve imagined the vision would come to fruition as fast as it did.
Star, Moonlight, and Flint had been in their den when it first started. Star doesn’t know if Sky was leaving or returning to the den when it happened. All Star knows, is that Sky was outside of the den when suddenly, the tree next to their family’s den exploded into flames.
Before anyone could react, the tree collapsed, crushing the den… and changing everything.
When the tree fell, fire jumped to the family’s nest. Flint and Moonlight were not in it when this happened, but Star was. She had been sleeping when the crack of the tree had woken her up, and she had just started to try to leave the nest when it hit the den, lighting the nest, and in turn her, ablaze.
Star will never remember the excruciating pain she felt when the fire touched her skin. She will never remember the scent of her own charred flesh or the sound of fire in her ears. And she will never remember the way Moonlight had shoved her towards a small hole in the side of the den.
The moment she reached the side of the den, the calico collapsed. The pain was too much for her mind to cope with, and she passed out. Sky managed to grab her, pulling her from the blaze and putting the flames out before the damage became too much to heal from.
Sky had tried to save Moonlight and Flint, or, at least that what she tells Star, but right after Star had the flames on her body put out, the small hole that the kit had been rescued from caught fire. And Sky was forced to make a decision a mother never should be forced to make.
Sky abandoned the den, taking Star with her.
Star was taken to the northern end of the island, where she and Sky hunkered down until the fire burned out. When the fire finally died down and Star and Sky were finally safe, Star finally had her injuries assessed, and it was immediately clear that she was in critical condition.
Approximately 75% of her body had been burned, with even more of her fur being scorched. Miraculously, only about 20% of her body was covered in third degree burns, with the rest of it being second degree burns. The lack of the third degree burns reaching through her entire body is the sole reason she survived.
Too unstable to be left alone and too unstable to be moved, Star was touch and go for a long time. Had Sky not had the knowledge she did, Star would have perished that night, most likely succumbing to the shock that set in. But she didn’t.
The Tribe of the Endless Hunt had been watching over her, as somehow, despite her extreme injuries, she survived the first night. Then she survived the next night. Then the next one. She was completely unconscious during these days, but she survived.
From there, she began to stabilize. It took moons, but her wounds began to heal. It took a couple moons, but she was able to move again. She has a few memories from this time, but not too many.
Her first true memory is from when she was around six moons old. It’s not special, as it’s just a memory of her waking up and eating with her mother, but it’s the earliest memory she can regularly recall.
Soon after that, she started walking on her own. Her leg, while stiff, was strong enough to support her, if only for a few moments. Around this time is when she first remembers asking Sky when they will go home, and, if they’ll see dad and Moonlight again.
She was told they’d return when she was strong enough, but the latter question was never answered.
She continued to heal for another two moons, and eventually, she became strong enough to start to train. Sky taught her the basics of hunting and herb gathering, as despite her fur finally starting to grow back, not every burn she had was fully healed.
She was not allowed to leave the cave by herself, though Star doesn’t mind. She started grabbing berries she knows aren’t poisonous and have no real use and used the juice to draw designs on her good side, the cave floor, the cave walls, stones… anything she could. She started weaving what few flowers she could into rudimentary crowns. She found herself happy when being left alone, and she greatly enjoyed showing her mother what she had worked on when she was gone.
One day, during newleaf, Sky told Star that she was going to leave to see if the tribe is healed enough for the two to return. Star was ecstatic, and eagerly told her mother goodbye, anxious to see this home she had heard so much about, yet had no memory of.
But then a day turns into two, then to three. Star got worried and had just decided to leave to see if she could find her mother when Sky returned. All she told Star of what was going on, was that they would never return.
Star was devastated by the news, but she pushed past it. For the next nine moons, she continued to heal, until eventually she was fully healed. Sky continued to teach her how to hunt and a little bit on how to fight, and their life was fairly quiet.
Then, one day, they were discovered by a tribe patrol, and Star realized that there are a lot of cats. Even the small patrol seemed like too much. Names got thrown around, ones she’s not entirely familiar with, and Sky, after some convincing, agreed to return.
Terrified of the thought of living alone, and still wanting to see the tribe, Star followed. She was brought to the cave, where she meets with her sister, who she didn’t even recognize at first.
Due to her not knowing how the tribe truly worked, she was made a to-be. Couple this with her learning that she has a niece and the tension between her sister and her mother, Star feels like the world has tilted beneath her. But… everything will fix itself soon.
