Cranefeather
Lichenclan
A lithe, regal longhaired lynx with icy blue eyes
Warrior
Female
29
Appearance
In true longhair fashion, Cranefeather’s stature is hidden by her long pelt. Underneath she is strong and muscular, softened by her fluffy exterior. She isn’t much to look at, an average she-cat, at least in terms of her body.
Most of Cranefeather’s pelt is a mix of soft browns, golds, and white, with gray fur around her head and her tail. This darker fur is accented with even darker stripes, the most prominent on her forehead. The tip of her tail is the darkest, a beautiful gradient making its way up. Her legs have gray stripes that stop abruptly, her snow-white paws a stark contrast from the color. Her pelt is long, hanging like feathers around her. It flares out around her chest and her neck, sometimes creating a ring of white around her darkened face.
In the middle of her head, a collection of markings look almost like a crown, complementing her regal stature and movement. Her icy blue eyes are her most memorable feature, on a clear night they shine with the reflection of the moon’s light. Despite the defined markings, Cranefeather’s face is soft, her wide blue eyes are in perfect combination with her short snout and perfectly-sized nose.

Personality
Conscientiousness
Cranefeather's loyalty is to the clan, and her steadfast longing to make her father proud dictates everything that she does. Well-organized and dedicated to her work, Cranefeather does not allow the shame of her situation stop her from going above and beyond for her clanmates. There is purpose in everything she says and everything she does, even if others cannot see it.
Obedient
Her father as her primary rolemodel, she learned quickly the place of a she-cat in Lichenclan. While she remains lighthearted and kind, she is fast to follow orders, especially those from toms. She finds honor in making the clan proud, and wants nothing more than to be seen as an asset to her clanmates.
Repressed
Cranefeather learned fast to bite her tongue and listen to the toms. Despite her quick thinking and intellect, she remains quiet, often keeping her thoughts and ideas to herself. Her full potential will never be reached, and she knows this deep down. She folds up her hopes and fears and hides them away, willing to do anything to hold up her mask of contentment.
Resentful
Cranefeather feels as if she's not asking for much in life. She longs to have kits of her own, and she quietly resents the queens that she cares for. After losing Boulderstep, her resentment and unhappiness grew, her whole existence clouded by her lack of a family. While she will rarely express her feelings out loud, she feels her discontent sitting in her stomach like a rock.
History
Brought into the world amidst tragedy, Cranekit was the sole survivor of her mother's labor. Both her littermates and her mother lost, she grew up with her father, Aspenshade, as her role-model. A true traditionalist, Cranekit grew up with an understanding of her place in the clan, and yearned to make her father proud. Being half-raised by other queens, Cranekit grew to be poised and quiet. She made fast friends with another kit, two moons her junior. The only time Cranekit could let her guard down was with Azealakit, when it was just the two of them.
Cranepaw longed to have a place as a true warrior, and she trained as though it was a possibility. She wanted to make her father proud, but she quickly learned that a warrior for a daughter was not what he was looking for. He wanted her to marry up, find a strong mate and bring more kits into the clan. While she took her training seriously, she quickly resigned herself to the fact that her true role was not as a warrior, at least in Lichenclan. She enjoyed training while she could, still dedicated to being the best she can be to bring honor to her father and her clan. Her sense of pride in her accomplishments stayed tucked away, as she quietly improved herself. The only she-cat who truly knew her is Azaelapaw. Cranepaw makes a promise that they can become warriors together.
Cranefeather was proud when she received her warrior name, and was even prouder when her best friend earned a warrior name of her own at only 12 moons. Soon after the ceremony, Cranefeather learned that she was to marry Boulderstep, a large burly tom who her father chose. One afternoon near the water, Azealamask and Cranefeather were catching fish, when she decided to tell her best friend about her betrothal. It was this moment when Cranefather learned of Azealamask's love for her, which began the process of a wall forming between the two of them.
Cranefeather watched her best friend grow distant, becoming engrossed in training. She had a cordial relationship with Boulderstep, but after moons of trying, it was decided that Cranefeather might be unable to have kits. Feeling disgraced and betrayed by her own body, she became distant and cold. She fulfilled her duties faithfully, though her father had little concern for her after her failed attempt at being a mother. Cranefeather loved kits, and her work in the nursery led to deep despair, as she believed she would never fulfill her true duty to the clan.
The war took a toll on the whole clan, and left Cranefeather with no family. Having lost her father in the war, she was more dedicated than ever to make a name for herself and make her family proud. She worked hard in the nursery, doing her best to make friends among the queens in the aftermath of the chaos.
When the flood came, Cranefeather's first priority was the queens and their kits. It wasn't until later, after the water had subsided, that she looked for her mate. Finding that he was lost, she was heartbroken that he was gone, and even more devastated that her chance at being a mother fell farther away still. Now a single she-cat, she has thrown herself into her work, convinced that with enough tenacity she will be able to make something of herself.
