Buckpaw
RedwoodClan
broad red tabby with white
apprentice
male
7 moons
Appearance
A solid sort of cat, Buckpaw has wide shoulders and long, muscular legs. While it is evident he still has some growing to do, he has filled out from a pudgy kit into an impressively tall frame. At his age he is still lanky, which renders him a bit boyish and awkward, but it's almost certain he will broaden given the breadth of his white paws.
His ginger coat is a dark, rusty sorrel. In adulthood it will eventually develop a more rugged aspect, pelt thickening and rumpling, and growing shaggy where it hangs from his belly and hindquarters. His cheek fur is dense, distinctively widening his face where it flares either side of the white thatch under his throat. He has a broad skull and a strong facial structure, snowy chin adding to the squareness of his jaw. His ears, funnily, are rather small.
Buckpaw considers his eyes his finest feature, whenever he stoops over a puddle and sees their grey-green shining back at him.

Personality
Laid-back, good-humored.
Buckpaw is gregarious. The apprentice is not always very adept at conversation and may not be particularly quick-witted, but his relaxed nature makes him easy to get along with, and his earnest awkwardness endearing. Both secure in himself and a bit dense, insults tend to roll off him like water off a duck's back. When he engages in arguments it's rare that he's truly offended. He does so either for his own amusement, or because he failed to take something rude at face value.
Thickheaded, candid.
Buckpaw is poor at presuming upon the intentions of others, a little lacking in intellectual skepticism. He's not very interested in conflict and prefers to compromise where he can. Naivety and general desire for cooperation with others makes him try to see the good in most cats, even when it might not exist. This can make him prone to being taken advantage of. He also tends to speak without considering his words, and can step on toes and delicate sensibilities with his ignorant honesty.
Indolent, complacent.
Buckpaw's work ethic is not particularly impressive. He relies heavily on his brawn, and being blessed with size, doesn't always see the point of training things he thinks he's already good enough at. He is motivated by praise however, and his ego is easily appealed to. Self-satisfied, he struggles to understand why some cats might find his physical prowess irritating, and enjoys showboating.
Sensible, straightforward.
Buckpaw thinks more than it probably appears. His thoughts may not be groundbreaking... but he isn't reckless or overly stupid, and generally makes good choices. When faced with difficult decisions he's not someone who acts hastily. He doesn't make things more complicated than he needs to, and when he speaks his mind, he does so frankly and is fairly good at distilling problems into simple variables. When he's foolish, it's usually because he naively didn't consider something as important as he probably should've.
