Wildflower that
Grows Freely
Tribe of Floating Stones
long-haired dilute tortie with bright yellow eyes
PREY-HUNTER
SHE-CAT
THIRTY-SIX MOONS
Appearance
At first glance, Wildflower seems a large she-cat due mostly to her long coat and taller extremities. If one were to take a longer look, however, they'd see that she was simply a taller than average cat with somewhat of a longer body and tail. Slightly disproportionate, her head is a bit smaller than the rest of her which allows for a unique and dainty appearance.
Wildflower's pelt is long and fluffed; while not obsessive about it, she keeps her coat well groomed as often as possible as it is a matter of pride to her. Habits that she learned from her mother. True to most cats of her coloration, her coat sports a mixture of smokey gray, creamy beige and nutmeg brown with a few areas being lightened by white.
Though symmetrical and proportionate to her small head, Wildflower's smokey gray face is brightened by large and bright yellow eyes that make it difficult for any cat to overlook her when she is around.

History
Wildflower was born to two Prey-Hunters of her Tribe along with her litter-mate brother named Shade that Hides Injured Coyote; they were Butterfly Sunning on Stone and Flight of Startled Bird. The two young cats had made their union official as soon as they received their callings within the tribe. They had grown up together and were absolutely inseparable from early on. It was clear to every cat but them they would eventually become mates. Not long after they became full-fledged members of the tribe, their union was declared and not long after they became official they had their first litter.
Flutter of Butterfly's Wings and Journey of Falling Dewdrop were their absolute pride and joy and they doted on their first kits every chance they got. They were a happy family for a time. It was when Flutter and Journey became to-bes that Butterfly discovered she was to have another litter. The young parents were overjoyed and the moons passed quickly in their excitement. Her second litter was even smaller than her first, however, and only one kit was born to her. Butterfly Sunning on Stone named the single kit Wildflower that Grows Freely… and did she ever grow. Around this time, there was another tom that had begun vying for Butterfly’s attention. He was a large gray and brown tabby stone-guard that was called Grouse Drumming Wings on Log. Of course, young Wildflower was naïve to anything going on in her family and she grew just as quickly and as happily as any other kit would. At first, her mother didn’t pay the larger tom any attention. Flight noticed his advances however and grew jealous of him. Her parents soon began to argue in whispers. Butterfly would swear to her mate that she had no desires for the other tom and Flight, noting how big Wildflower was growing which was very unlike either of her parent’s statures, began to accuse his mate of having an affair with Grouse and that was his kit after all. Once that idea came into his head, he decided he wanted nothing to do with Wildflower. So, just as she was growing old enough to form her own opinions, play, wrestle, and learn, her father abandoned her.
Wildflower grew only to know the love and caring of her mother. Butterfly was left heartbroken but still she did not turn to Grouse. The nursing mother turned all of her attention to raising Wildflower and it wasn’t until her lone kit became a to-be that she turned to Grouse for comfort and healing of her broken heart.
Having finally captured the attentions of Butterfly, Grouse also tried to impose himself upon her kits. Flutter and Journey had only just become full members of the tribe by this time and though their mother’s new mate wasn’t their favorite cat in the Tribe, they weren’t disrespectful and they fell into a friendly acquaintance with the tom. Wildflower’s take on him was entirely different. Being the free spirit that she was, she more freely expressed herself while she was a to-be and did not hide the fact that she didn’t have much of a liking for Grouse. He was short and gruff with her and got annoyed when she was only being herself with him. The young cat only knew one way to be and that was completely and blatantly honest. It was a trait of hers that he did not like and he was constantly complaining about her lack of tact and manners. It was this that slowly began to drive a wedge between Wildflower and her mother. To please her new mate, Butterfly began to discipline her daughter for her wild spirit and free tongue. In response, as only a rebellious adolescent could, Wildflower began to speak out on her dislike for the tom and as they argued more, their relationship slowly but surely diminished. With Grouse, Butterfly had another litter of two; Splash of Fallen Stone in Pond and Minnow Swimming in Shallow Pool.
If it hadn’t been for another young to-be that was as every bit as bold and rebellious as she, she most likely wouldn’t have survived the feeling of loneliness that tore at her insides due to her familial separation. When she was with him, she didn’t have to worry about what she said, what she did, or how she felt. Cardinal Perching on Snowy Branches accepted her for who she was and that is what she appreciated most. It was often that she sought his company and though he was explosive with others he seemed to enjoy her company as well and, if she were being honest, more than friendship bloomed in her heart for him. Cats had begun to avoid Cardinal because of his tendency to lash out but it made not matter. Wildflower was quite happy for some time, even without her family by her side….that was until she noticed that cats were not only avoiding Cardinal but they were beginning to avoid her as well. When she realized it was because of how close she was getting to Cardinal, she grew troubled. Though she still felt for the blazing tom over the next moon or two she found herself spending time with another tom that seemed to fancy her. He was pretty much the exact opposite of Cardinal. He was calm and level-headed. Above all, he was patient with her and the more time she spent with him the more tame she became. Before long, she was spending more time with Moss that Covers Stone than she was with Cardinal. Cats found her more approachable that way and the pit of loneliness filled again slightly. By the time she became a full-fledged prey-hunter for the Tribe, though she did not feel for Moss the way she felt for Cardinal, she was content with him and so she decided to meet with Cardinal in private one last time to tell him of her decision to accept Moss’ proposal. He reacted the way she expected which only strengthened her resolve and reassured her that she was making the right decision. There would always be pain in her heart for the loss of him, she felt that it was right for her to commit herself to Moss and for quite some time she was a shell of happiness.
More recently, Moss has begun to press her for kits of their own. It’s not an idea that she hasn’t thought about but she isn’t sure that she is quite ready….or willing entirely, at least not with Moss. Due to his persistence and pressing, Wildflower has drifted from what little feelings she had for him and now she finds herself thinking of Cardinal again. From what she’s seen and heard, he isn’t as explosive as he used to be and…well, she can’t help but wonder now.
