Appearance
Caveflower is a small, perfect LichenClan cat. She's below average height with no muscles. From a restrictive diet, she stays thin and light. She stands on small paws, with claws that are always dulled.
Her fur is luxuriously soft and lovely to touch. It's long and always well-groomed. Despite her small body underneath, her fur makes her appear much larger than she is. But at least it makes her presence more intimidating. Her fur is primarily white but is covered by delicate spots. What would usually be black and orange, are made lighter by the smoke mutation. Both her ears are completely black.
She was considered cute back in the day, but age has worn down her features. Her face is narrow with a short muzzle and tiny nose. Her blue eyes are wide, but you'll usually see her with a narrowed glare and irritated expression. Atop her head is long, triangular ears.

Personality
Devote
Caveflower takes her teachings seriously. From a young age, her parents taught her to pray and she's never forgotten those lessons. Her dedication extends to other parts of her life. She'll never give up on someone who shows potential and when she puts her mind to it, she'll see it through.
Motherly
While Caveflower fully believes she-cats are meant to be queens, she won't let it get in her way of caring for others. She takes care of every kit like they are her own, encouraging them to play and have fun. Meanwhile, she's teaching them any lessons they need to be a proper LichenClan cat.
Stubborn
Caveflower is stuck in her ways. She's always believed in StarClan and the divine Heron line and has a hard time changing her mind. It took her too long to doubt Minnowstar and she's now suffering the consequences. She's stuck to the same old ways of praying that her father taught her and is resistant to change.
Manipulative
Caveflower has learned from a young age: that to get what she wants as a queen she needs to work for it. She has a keen way with words, and is always twisting situations to benefit her the most. She’ll lie and manipulate to get what she wants. Not even her children are safe.

History
The real story starts with Cavekit, not her daughter. Her first memory is of her father taking her to see the mooncave. It was dark and they snuck out while her mother slept. At the entrance to the cave, he leaned down to tell her to keep quiet, then he walked in. Following at his paws, Cavekit entered the den, her eyes growing wide. She let out a small gasp. The water twinkled with stars, welcoming her. Leaning down to place his head atop hers, Dusklily whispered: "This is what we named you after. The Moonpool and the cave that protects it."
As a kit, LichenClan was already in the middle of a war. Led by Sagestar, they were destined to win. Cavekit's parents told her about the will of StarClan, the importance of bloodlines and how to be a faithful servant. She did not wrestle with the other kits, instead, she mimicked her parents praying.
Cavepaw is apprenticed to a family friend. The queen was eager to teach her how to be polite, respectful and loyal to StarClan. Cavepaw occasionally went out hunting and fighting with the other apprentices, but she much preferred taking care of the elders and camp chores. In that way, she was the perfect daughter and Dusklily had no doubt she would continue on their family. When she became of age, Cavepaw was named Caveflower in honour of her family.
Not long after she is named, Dusklily approaches her with news. He's decided on a tom for her. Pigeonheart just five moons older than her, was a suitable tom. He was of good blood and faithful to StarClan. So they were engaged. They spent a few moons together, talking about their future and clan politics. Whenever Pigeonheart spoke, Caveflower's heart raced. He made her feel beautiful. But Pigeonheart was young and foolish. He wasn't ready to settle down. Fed up with him spending time with other she-cats, Caveflower cut off the engagement, demanding her father pick a new, more suitable tom.
Wetfur was his name. Not well known in higher circles but a devoted believer. Caveflower never found her heart flutter for him, but he was fun to be around. They quickly settled down, bringing a single kit into the world. They named her Waterkit. Caveflower raised her with stories about StarClan, and assurance that the heron-line was absolute. But Waterkit never seemed to listen. She always ran off catching butterflies. Still, Caveflower had hope. Waterkit would carry on her legacy.
One day, Caveflower took Waterkit to the moonpool. It was dark, just as dark as the night Caveflower first saw the moonpool. She showed her the pool, saying that "This is what we named you after. The Moonpool and the water within it." Like her, Waterpaw was apprenticed to a fine queen. But she often snuck out, always finding trouble. It took longer than most, but Waterlily finally got her name, in honour of her grandfather. As was tradition, Caveflower introduced Waterlily to her future mate. But Waterlily could not be controlled. She got together with her sweetheart, Sweetbee. Caveflower never liked him, finding his intentions were far from pure. She had a feeling he only wanted Waterlily for status, but by being with her he was dooming Waterlily to the life of a peasant. The only positive out of Waterlily's mateship was the children. Rotflower especially is doted on by Caveflower, the old queen enjoying how dedicated she is.
While the battle with RedwoodClan raged on, Caveflower was safe in the camp. But her family not so much. Wetfur died in battle to a RedwoodClan warrior and Dusklily in a border skirmish turned deadly. He was honoured for his courage, but Caveflower started to doubt the war. She'd lost so much and feared the worst was yet to come. As Minnowstar held a mass confession, and Caveflower willingly confesses to doubting the cause, blaming her status as a queen and weakness of heart.
Rotflower becomes a warrior, and Caveflower is quick to start looking for a mate for her. But she's distracted by rogues joining their ranks and Minnowstar turning her eyes on ThistleClan. Caveflower had enough of the old leader's ways. It all comes to a head when RedwoodClan launches an attack. Rotflower is woken up in the middle of the night to screams and cries. She grabs Waterlily and hides in the den to wait out the fighting. She sees Rotflower out fighting, whisking when the battle pauses. She waits, knowing a new era is coming to the clan and praying that they won't get lost in the chaos. Her grandson Tickfur dies in the fighting.
In a post-Minnow LichenClan, the clan is ripe for the taking. Yarrowstar and Quickstrike rise to power, electing a council to handle major decisions. Caveflower is furious she’s not included. She does not see her family represented in the powerful cats in the clan, and that must change. Her legacy will not die with her, Caveflower is certain of that.
Caveflower rekindles her love for Pigeonheart. She is hesitant to accept him back into her life after being betrayed before. But her heart still longs for him, and under the stars they promise to StarClan to be faithful mates. In early spring when the great flood hits the island, Caveflower discovers she’s expecting kits. In her old age, she’s anxious about their health but is nevertheless excited. The kits are born in foreign land. Dustkit, Applekit, Hemlock-kit and Foxglovekit are welcomed into the world as the highest of blood and purest of souls. Caveflower mourns for the moon cave, wishing she could bring her kits to see it. Despite that, she begins seeding thoughts into the little ones' heads. She tells Dustkit and Applekit of the great things they are destined for. To them, she promises the entire clan. One day, she expects one of them will rise as LichenClan’s leader. For her daughters, Caveflower makes quick work of teaching them how to act as proper ladies. She gives them strict lessons on how to stand and speak. To all four kits, she tells them of the rotten blood in the clan and who they should and shouldn’t talk to.
Not long after the kits are born, Hemlock-kit acts off. She’s brought to Briarfall and is diagnosed as mute. Caveflower’s smallest daughter will never speak. Caveflower is horrified, but tries to see the positive side of things. But her young daughter unsettles her. She fears Hemlock-kit’s muteness is StarClan sending a message. Though perhaps her ancestors are cursing Yarrowstar by harming his namesake.
When her kits are a few moons old, Rotflower confesses that she too is expecting kits. Caveflower is overjoyed and hovers around her granddaughter, making sure she knows what to do. But when her kits arrive, Rotflower grows distant. She refuses to look at the kits and can barely stomach prey. Caveflower steps in, nursing the kits when Rotflower is away and raises them as if they were her own. When the kits are weaned, Rotflower leaves entirely. She refuses to step foot in the nursery. Caveflower is forced to pick up the slack and struggles to manage seven kits on her own.
Briarfall's dislike of the moonpool causes Caveflower to seek out Lilacpaw instead. She arranges a baptism for each litter. First she brings her four kits to the glistening pool. With Pigeonheart at her side, she tells the kits of their grand destiny and of the competition they will face during their apprenticeship. For the first of many times, Dustkit and Applekit are pitted against each other. They must fight for heir. Next, she arranges for Rotflower’s kits to be baptized. But it doesn’t go so well and Gustkit falls ill and dies soon after.
When her kits reach apprentice age, Caveflower starts to look for suitable mates for them. She arranges Darterpaw and Foxglovepaw behind Littlestream’s back with Tinyblossom’s blessing. And as a favor to Perchwhisker, she arranges Vervainpaw and Anemonepaw. She also takes on a new apprentice in Doepaw, a young noble she-cat who’s parents Caveflower was fond of. Her maneuvering is interrupted by sudden tragedy as Rotflower is found dead on the eve of Vervainpaw and Corcuspaw’s apprenticeship ceremony. Not long after, Pigeonheart falls ill as well.
Caveflower deals with the grief of losing her granddaughter and she knows it’s only a matter of time till Pigeonheart passes. She does her best to take her mind off of the grief by finding more arrangements for her kits. Hemlockpaw and Dacepaw would suit each other, but it would be risky. As for Applepaw and Dustpaw, she likes the look of Fireflypaw or her own apprentice Doepaw.... It's time to put those two to the test to see if they can win a mate.
