Sparrow that chirps at dawn
Tribe of Floating Stones
Lanky tortoiseshell w/ vibrant green eyes
to-be
she-cat
6 moons
Appearance
Even from birth, Sparrow had always been lengthy and lanky. That gangly awkward stage never left her, unlike the beauty that is her sister. Her legs are long and skinny, coated in a noticeable layer of muscle which led to small dainty paws. As a young cat she was not much to look at but as she grew it became obvious that the she cat was built for strength despite her small stature. Everything about Sparrow is long and narrow, from her slim pointed face, down her elongated neck; across her thin body and narrow hips to her bony tail. Due to her thinness - her chest almost seems too large, pigeoning out when crouched.
Her pelt was the complete opposite of her sister Melody's. Instead of a beautiful pale yellow and cream coat, Sparrow has a dark dappled tortoiseshell pelt. Instead of the long flowing fur that coated her sisters body, her was short in length and clung to her skin so tightly the muscles could clearly be seen. She is deceptively soft, her fur almost the texture of kitten fluff.
Sparrow has a narrow face, like everything else. Very triangular and sharp in shape with a small pointed muzzle. Similar to her sisters except it ended with a dark brown nose. Though... Whether her face was smaller than Melody's or her ears were bigger - no one could quite tell. Her head is adorned with two very tall and very wide ears, set quite spaciously apart. These massive ears were often seen half pinned back as she tends to stalk around in some sort of mood. Along with the rest of her, she had lengthy black whiskers that twitched regularly. Unlike her sisters seed shaped eyes, her were perfectly round and a vibrant mossy green.

Personality
“People are going to disappoint you, I get that, I kind of expect that but, what happens if one day you wake up and realize you are the disappointment?”
-Rebellious and Headstrong |+Protective and Loyal
Sparrow has had a hard kit hood. Her mothers death and her fathers endless grief has led her to have a bit of a rebellious streak. Always skipping out on training and back-talking her mentor, giving her sister hell and causing her uncle heartache. Even when she is called out on her behavior, she is in their face challenging them. Her sister isn't quite like her, she softer and thus needs more protecting... more love and care. Anytime her father decides to speak up to them, Sparrow is there ready to head off the insults. Which is not usually what her sister wants, yet she does it anyways knowing Melody deserves better. This feeling of protectiveness extends to those who she becomes close to. She cannot help it. She may talk a lot of smack but she is always the first to come to some ones defense.
-Self Critical and Depressive | +Deeply Emotional and Kindhearted
Sparrow is incredibly self critical. Despite the words of any others she is hard on herself. She wishes she could have saved her mother or found a way out or managed to get through to Breeze but instead she views it as having just stood there... too frightened to do much. Despite her trying to dig out Dawn, despite her attempting to find an exit. She still thinks she did not do enough. Thus her mood shifts downward often. With ears slightly pinned and a perpetual cloud overhead kind of attitude, she is not one to usually lift the mood. She is who she is and she likes what she likes. She’s not a “typical” cat and refuses to just follow along with what everyone else is doing. She’s true to herself and doesn’t try to please anyone. She enjoys self-expression. She can’t talk about what she’s feeling, so she trains as a way to revel on past experiences and release emotions. Sparrow has her ways of dealing with her issues and though she does not speak much on it she listens great. Always willing to lend a paw to her sister or a ear to listen to the complaining and pestering, or a shoulder for her to cry on.
-Jealous and Self-absorbed | +Romantic and Sensitive
As much as Sparrow loves her sister, she cannot help being jealous of her. Melody makes friends easily, doesn't cause too much trouble, reminds everyone of Dawn... even all the toms seem to fawn over her. It irritates Sparrow. She may not be as pretty but she was stronger, trained harder... maybe not with her mentor but still. Why did Melody get the attention? Granted Sparrow believed Melody deserved more attention, it did not keep her from experiencing a deep rooted envy. Despite this, Sparrow is not exactly the most friendly. She tends to have this sense of unrealistic romance, imaging this magical, fantastical type of romance. A tom to whisk her off her paws while understanding her trauma. She tries very hard to have a solid unbreakable exterior, but she is often feeling overwhelming emotions. Sometimes she can take the insults like a champ and other times the slightest remark can trigger a defensive response.
History
Mother:
Father: Breeze the Carries Petals
Sister: Melody of a Meadowlarks Song (rp'd by lightning )
Kithood: Sparrow and Melody's kithoods began so happy - fairytale happy. Their parents, Dawn Breaking Beyond Arbored Hills and Breeze that Carries Petals adored each other, they were madly in love and expecting kits was the epidemy of their happiness. Fog was the newly named teller and his vision led to their names. Both in affiliation with their pelts and their voices - they were named Sparrow that chirps at dawn and Melody of a Meadowlarks Song.
Despite the coyotes and the famine, the two were always well fed and always surrounded by their family. They knew nothing of struggle, only that of pure love. It was not until they'd grown a few moons old and a fire broke out that things changed. Fire ravaged the land, engulfing everything in sight. The bush above their den, the one that had given them such protection over their first few moons began to cause the den to cave it. Their mother had just managed to shove the girls out when the ceiling collapsed. Dawn begged them to go but Sparrow just knew she could save her. She had just begun to try to dig Dawn out with her own tiny paws when her mothers begging turned to a blood curtailing screaming as her pelt caught fire and began to lick at her flesh. Sparrow could only watch in horror, her sister silently beside her knowing neither could do anything.
It was not but a moment before their father, who'd been her hero came upon the scene. He threw himself onto Dawn. Begging out loud for her to hold on, that she was fine, that she'd be ok and be free soon. His paws scorched and tears streaming he continued to dig and continued to beg even after her voice had faded, he continued even as Melody cried and screamed and begged for his help to get out. Her cried had broken Sparrows trance enough for her to try her best to find an escape route but she was too small and everything was on fire. Smoke was filling the air rapidly and her lunged had began to burn. Somehow Melody had broken into Breeze's grief filled actions, enough to get him to pick them up racing them across the waters and back to the survivors.
From that moment on, Breeze was a broken tom. From the second their paws touched dry, safe land his eyes betrayed him. He spent the entire night and most of the next day staring out across the water to where smoke streamed from the ground. To Melody's delight, he finally returned to them... yet Sparrow knew he was not the same. From then on he'd sulk about, refusing to look at either of them. And when he bothered to do so, his gaze held such anger and spite. It infuriated Sparrow. They still needed him and he turned his back on them. He would have left them to die. And poor Melody - forever seeking that attention, craving it. That almost infuriated her more. Yet... she'd do anything for her sister. Their father may have left them but she'd die before doing so. She felt like Melody's protector from then on, even if she was the biggest bubbliest annoyance.
