Butterfly who
Dances in Wind
Tribe of Floating Stones
white and blue tom with green eyes
stone-guard
tom
20 moons
Appearance
This male is quite a broad shouldered cat with a strong build. He is of average height for a cat however his muscular body as well as his thick, long coat gives the impression he is bigger than he looks. His length and weight is standard and normal for a healthy young cat.
Butterfly is a solid grey and white cat. The majority of his underside is completely white, with this white colour stretching up to cover his muzzle, the space between his eyes and the nape of his neck. All his paws are white. His grey patches cover his back, head, tail and some of his legs, except for her front left leg, which is entirely white. The texture of his pelt is soft and well-kept with the length being very long and thick. His nose, skin and toe-beans are pink in colour.
As a youthful cat, Butterfly is fortunate to have relatively a scar-free complexion, except for the nick on the top of his right ear. His face by nature is broad and short-snouted. His eyes are green and slightly big for his face, however aren't distracting. Butterfly's nose is average in size but has a slightly darker pink under-half. His ears are average.

Personality
Since Butterfly could crawl, he's been a lively cat. His energetic attitude and composure is the reason he earned his name as he couldn't sit still to save his life! As an adult he uses this energy to motivate himself to be the best help to his tribe that he can be. His animated character did come across as 'too much' in the past so he has began to calm it down and actively focuses this energy towards practise or exercise which has definitely benefitted his physical strength as a stone-guard.
Butterfly's active mentality allows his imaginative mindset to try new ways to solve problems. He has the type of mindset that won't let an issue go unless he has figured out the optimal solution. This can benefit in both interpersonal and problem-solving situations as the goodness of his heart wouldn't like to put another cat in a negative position if he can help. Despite his lack in experience he benefits the tribe with sometimes wildish fixes that can be toned down to something realistic to come to a good conclusion.
The overly confident attitude Butterfly can give off can be extremely grating, especially if an older tribe-member is trying to explain something to him. Butterfly can come across as narrow-minded or ignorant in his confidence however he doesn't mean bad by it. How he sees it, he's giving the tribe her best advice and the tribe should consider it, but the tribe could take this as some young cat thinking he knows better.
With his imaginative and lively attitude, comes having to deal with it. Butterfly being somewhat scatter-brained with so many thoughts running through his head can lose track of what he was planning on doing that day if something more urgent or interesting pops up. This can be extremely irritating for his fellow stone-guards who could instruct him to go fix some erosion on one side of the island and on his travels there could get distracted by something and fix or do something completely different, then return home with the wrong task completed.
History
The kit from a litter of one, Butterfly was the last kit born from Night Who’s Eyes Glow Bright and Larkspur Clasping Rainfall.
From the moment he was born, Larkspur doted on him and told him stories of how he would grow up to be the best and strongest stone-guard, just like her and his father! His mother's adoring attitude towards him meant she never disciplined him harshly and allowed him to act quite rambunctious as a kit.
The teller spoke of him as an adult in a meadow full of plants, insects and flowers, but the cat remained fixated on a brown butterfly. Without warning the butterfly was blown away, with such speed and force, all the tom could do was run after but couldn't catch up.
Butterfly wasn't old enough when the conflict between his parents and Burrow Where Foxes Hide had occurred but from only a few moons old he had been aware of the conflict regarding his older brother's role.
It was from the vision and his ongoing energy his parents decided to name him Butterfly who Dances in Wind.
As a kit, he was told the horror stories of the ongoing coyote attacks, however he was told he would be safe in the new leadership of Fog. Despite these scary times, the kit felt safe, knowing his strong tribe would protect him!
As a stone-guard to-be, Butterfly excelled, in everything but swimming. Perhaps he was destined to be a stone-guard or all the hype from his mother caused a placebo. Butterfly performed well in fighting, understanding the logic and methods of repairing the island however would very easily distracted by small things.
The famine meant Butterfly was expected to hunt more than a usual stone-guard would however he struggled significantly at this. His energic character would cause him to get restless and leap early or attempt to just chase the food down which obviously never worked. After multiple scolding from his teacher he eventually (and reluctantly) became somewhat calm enough to hunt.
A few times while out patrolling, Butterfly would see coyotes, but wouldn't feel fear. He felt anger. Retreating from multiple coyotes, despite understanding why they would need to, sat wrong with him. These feelings grew during the sickness at leaf-bare which caused even more cats to pass.
In his late to-be stage, Butterfly noticed a shift in loyalty between Fog and Sumac. As a kit, he was told Fog would be a 'saviour'. In a time of such strong emotions, the young cat didn't know what to think, and still doesn't. After all, so many older cats had just passed and cats are squabbling about power, with the threat of coyotes still lurking. It was against tribe beliefs to fight amongst ourselves, especially with a common enemy. Right?
A newly appointed stone-guard, Butterfly is excited despite the ongoing conflict surrounding him. He's sure his attitude and his verified skills will guarantee a positive future for the tribe if he works hard! At this time of his life, he's happy to annoy his brother or cousin and tries to stay away from picking a side between Fog and Sumac. Perhaps with the conflict between Fog and Sumac and coyotes being such a major part of his life, he's became accustomed to it. With the 'death' of Fog, Butterfly pretended to see it as a good thing. Less conflict in the tribe! However his gut was telling him that Sumac as leader just wasn't right...
