Appearance
From birth, Pigeonheart has been a lean and lanky cat. Now in his older warrior stage of life he's still tall and slinky. He is aware his age is starting to wither his abilities and muscles. Once a cat that could run after a hare and have some chance of catching if he leapt close enough, he now struggles to keep up with the ambition driven apprentices.
Similar to his mother, Pigeonheart has a pretty tabby coat with colours of white underneath his belly and eyes, and covering his muzzle. In his youth the tabby pattern would have been more predominant but age has tamed the darker patterns in his fur, with the last remnants of his darker markings still present in his tail. His fur has became rougher and more wiry as the moons have progressed. His body and pelt is ticked with small cuts and scars any warrior would get along the years but thankfully no major ones have lingered.
Jabs made by past enemies particularly situate upon his front paws and legs where the majority of his attacks where thrown. His neck and maw have patches of fur missing from scratches earned from battle. On the lower half of his left ear there's a deep cut that never healed properly.
Pigeonheart's large ears are probably his most notable feature, followed by his long white whiskers that extrude from his muzzle and above his eyes. He has a dainty chin and muzzle underneath his pink nose. His oval amber eyes can look intense with the thin line that is his pupil, even when he's fully relaxed.

Personality
The son of two devoted LichenClan warriors, it's no wonder Pigeonheart turned out how did; a tom with a deep pride of his clan and StarClan. This cat has an unwavering love for his clan and secretly believes they are StarClan's chosen above all other clans. He would never show this bias deliberately. This tom would go far and beyond to benefit LichenClan, including giving his life, if it came to it.
As his name may suggest, Pigeonheart is one with his feelings and light-hearted. What was a flirtatious attitude in his youth, has now developed into a more playful one. Teasing, banter, flirting without any expectation, whatever, Pigeonheart is up for it. He's the cat who would leave a spider in your nest or put a sticky cleaver on a cat's back.
Surprisingly, this older cat still hasn't learned the age-old life lesson of "look before you leap". A short-sighted thinking tom, he will do and say things without thinking about the consequences. A main reason for this is he can be easily angered or enraged, especially when it comes to his clan, which can cause him to do something he would later regret. On the other hand, his emotions could easily lead him to say or do something he later couldn't commit to or take responsibility for even if he said he'd be fine with it previously.
Due to his short-sightedness, Pigeonheart unfortunately can be very unreliable. In the past there have been events, responsibilities and opportunities the tom has had to regrettably walk away from. This was either because of his nerves getting to him or him feeling unable to the task he had previously agreed to. If he was for the good of his clan, he would likely force himself to do something, but if for one cat he would be unlikely to do it. If it was to avoid hurting someone's feelings or to commit to plans this tom would easily abandon it to do something more beneficial.
In short, emotional. For good and bad reasons.
History
Pigeonheart was the second-born to a litter of three kits. His high class LichenClan parents were affectionate and attentive to him and his two brothers. Status and superior ideals were engrained into the kit from youth. Being 'above' other cats would initially confuse him, but after some careful explanation as to why from his mother, he began to comprehend the mindset behind the classism.
From his kit-hood, Pigeonheart can vividly remember the stories told by the elders of the two-legs and their 'great dens' that fell to the unruly tide, and now the dens remaining occupied by dangerous rogues. His father told him these rogues are cats StarClan's forsaken for living in the two-leg homes, a powerful notion that stuck with him. StarClan has always been an important part of his life. Stories of the powers of the dead cats filled his imagination to the brim!
At first, Pigeonheart's mentor was delighted to get such an elite apprentice, however Pigeonheart was just trouble. His religious upbringing was mostly discarded as an apprentice. As an adolescent he would have been quite flirty but it seems it never went anywhere.
For hunting, Pigeonheart sometimes mess around instead of taking what his mentor said seriously. Focus on that mouse? Nah, watching the female apprentice nearby stalk was much more appealing. Wrestle with an old warrior? No thanks. The situation got the point that his mentor sat him down with the leader and his parents to discuss his attitude. Despite all this, he did care about knowing how to hunt or fight. He would practice off his brothers and benefitted more off them than his mentor.
His mentor tried to warn him multiple times about knowing how to fight, especially with all the thick air between RedwoodClan and LichenClan and a few times he paid attention! All Pigeonheart was truly worried about was being a good fighter, not the best. Same with hunting.
After his vigil it was no surprise that he was named off his personality than his hunting or fighting skills.
Once a warrior, Pigeonheart felt like a new cat. A cringeful past, he was boastful, proud and conceited. He would often flirt and annoy the mollies of his clan just for fun. One day, around 25 moons, a she-cat lacking in patience rightfully smacked him across the parietal area of his scalp with claws unsheathed. It hurt. It was embarrassing. A small humbling did no harm and he quickly changed his attitude to be less of an annoyance.
Strong feelings regarding the politics of his earlier days still wreck havoc in Pigeonheart's being. His conscience is screaming at him that the stories of grandness of LichenClan has fallen since the days of Sagestar.
Rationale is telling him Minnowstar is a fine and noble leader, after all, she is the heir. Sagestar was a fine leader he wouldn't have chosen an incorrect deputy. The leader obviously cared for LichenClan to the point he wanted Mooncave for them.
His soul compels him Sagestar's death was crooked. The death of Smokemask then Molefur and ascent of Minnowstar and THEN the death of Sagestar. How it seemed far too... perfect. These feelings have been growing in Pigeonheart throughout his adulthood only being fuelled by Minnowstar's seeming descent into barbarous rule.
Although the molly doesn't want kits, Pigeonheart has always had a bitter feeling regarding Minnowstar's reluctance to have them. Heron's bloodline has died with her. Pity. He can't help but feel it's something a truly devout noble would never do on purpose.
A key memory was when around 48 moons old, Minnowstar annouced her plans for war with RedwoodClan. Previous to this he had no serious doubts about Minnowstar, and this didn't even register at first as a problem but it was the seed that planted his suspicions about the leader.
He remembers now only the bitter memories; condemning of cats for conversation at Gatherings, her absence from the Gathering in favour of a mass confession, the assumption of Hemlockheart's death with a list growing exhaustive as her reign continues.
Within recent moons, Pigeonheart has been uneasy to act against Minnowstar. He doesn't support her, but doesn't support a rebellion either. Neither situation sits right with him and he feels lost. However, not much would push him over the line into joining the rebellion.
With a suffix like 'heart' perhaps it's no wonder that Pigeonheart has had a fair few flings in the past. Originally betrothed to Caveflower, part of the 'flower family', his wandering eye and the temptation of all the fine mollies of LichenClan led to undesirable arguments between the two. There's still a part of him that aches when he thinks about what could have been between him and Caveflower however would never blame the she-cat for discontinuing their betrothal. Unaware at the time, this secretly grew to be his biggest regret.
Unable to face up to his past cheating, Pigeonheart still checks in with Caveflower's troubled granddaughter Rotflower. To him, the small chats they have is his penance and mending on behalf of Caveflower, that he'll socialise with her lower class granddaughter. Plus, it turns out, she's a pretty nice cat!
