SALmonFUR
LICHENCLAN
tall black ticked tabby tom gray-green eyes
warrior
tom
thirty two moons
Appearance
salmonfur is first and foremost has a narrow, handsome face coupled with a long muzzle. his lean muscles also compliment the thin features, but his tail seems to devolve from the collection of smooth framework, instead taking on more of a dense approach with a plume like fluff. in terms of size, he's rather tall, but his lankiness makes it seem like he's still growing into his pelt.
a stripeless tabby all except his head and arms, he instead textures his almost ruddy brown fur with ticked hairs. his chest and chin are the only survivors from this palette, a creamy white contrasting with the dirtier hues. his eyes are a dull grayish green, not pale but not vivid in hue.

Personality
good-natured|open-minded|// +
on surface level, the first thing you will probably notice is his amiable presence. the less comfortable he is, the more friendly he is, always willing to at least put on a good show before his flaws shine through. he tries not to make it an act, but it seems more impossible the more he tries to be perfect. he at least isnt stubborn or set in his ways, willing to change and prone to it.
honest|assertive// +
salmonfur cannot tell a lie to save his life, being honest almost to a fault. even if he wanted to, he isn't clever enough for it anyway, finding the truth to be easier anyway. but with telling the truth also comes confidence, and salmonfur is quite assertive when he wants to be. he isn't afraid of taking charge or speaking up, and it can come with a sharpness that can hurt feelings.
impatient|selfish// -
as much as he tries, salmonfur cant help when the impatience creeps in his pelt. he finds himself getting frustrated if he doesn't understand something right away, whether that be advice, instructions, or even other cats feelings and perspectives. this tends to pair tragically with his selfishness, tending to favor his needs and perspectives over most other cats in a heartbeat, especially if they waver his patience.
reckless|naive// -
salmonfur, fitting of his intelligence level, is not prone to thinking before he acts. he is reckless not only in preparation, but in action as well. through this self-encouraged ignorance to introspection, a naivety is born, making him prone to not giving time into seeing other cats' perspectives.
History
Kithood:
life had always been him, his mother violetshade, and his sister shimmerkit, or as far as he remembers. around his second moon of living his father salamanderfoot had been killed in battle, but salmonkit had not felt his loss, satisfied in the careful coddling of his mother. their family unit was close and generally without complaints, although his relationship with his sister wavered depending on how bossy she was being that day. she would still become his best friend and most trusted confidant next to his mother, often using her voice of reason for advice.
Adolescence:
it was a bittersweet time, the transition into apprenticeship. his first challenge had been not his own adaption but his mother's, having to balance between the excitement of his own freedom and dividing that same time to a worried and lonely mother.
his other challenge also is an unexpected twist, his frustrations not being in the training itself, but his tensions with his mentor. the moment salmonpaw had found himself in the apprentice den, he was causing mischief with the other apprentices, not very often taking his training very seriously.
his sister on the other hand was taking training very seriously, which caused them to drift from their kit days. in fact, her success drove her to become a rank ahead of him before he even finished training, although a delay in his apprentice ceremony involving some expensive herb losage in the medicine cat's den would not help matters.
now, how does this wrap around to salmonpaw's tensions with his mentor, stoatstripe? well, let's just say these two were not getting along during these prankster times. stoatstripe had been patient, but it was his lack of respect and atonement that would end up turning her much more serious in just a moon of training. on top of his session-interrupting shenanigans, he just wasn't listening, and he wasn't patient enough to ride through his frustrations of being unpracticed. that was, until she made him a deal.
"if you don't start listening i'll tell bristlefur to give you a much less understanding mentor."
she had never been more serious than in that moment, and salmonpaw knew. he recognized it from his own mother. and with this brand new start, salmonpaw started trying, his behavior improving as he focused more on his training. and then, stoatstripe and training became more fun than the lonely pranks. in fact, the more he tried, the more he found he wanted to try, thanks to stoatstripe's own improved attitude. he respected her. but he wouldn't come to admire her until the day he genuinely messed up.
he wanted to prank her, but this time as a way to show off his skills. a true personalized sign of affection too, i might add. but this would become his last prank, and not because it backfired. it was quite an embarrassing event too, which was just supposed to be stoatstripe falling for his ambush of flowers, a perfect display of both hilarity and appreciation. but it was only hilarious for a second when he succeeded in his plan, for the flowers would start a sneezing fit that would end up sending her into the medicine cat den.
salmonpaw thought he was going to be set back for moons and never be a warrior after plaguing her with his stunt, vowing to never prank again. but when stoatstripe had approached his passionate apologies with just a light lecture and an even funnier joke of her own, it was then salmonpaw trained harder than ever, feeling all the more invigorated by their bond.
Adulthood:
salmonfur came out of of his apprenticeship not only with a little more patience under his belt, but a friend as well, now in his warrior moons finding stoatstripe to be more and more of a cool aunt than his ex mentor. but he's also stepped into his warriorhood cautiously, not entirely sure who to trust. after minnowstar instilling her brutal lessons in his youth, as well as feeling shimmerscale slip away with her maturity and hard work for a clan he didnt sure how to feel about. and with the rising tensions with redwoodclan, all he saw in his simplistic perspective was blood. he wouldn't leave lichenclan for the stars, but minnowstar made his feelings of distrust all the more practiced in her war hungry strategies.
but yet, with all these tensions, its within the clan that has caused him the most. his first issue is with his mother preparing his eternal mate with Shrikesong. even though he had absolutely no want to have a mate, he did try, but it only made tensions in his relationship with his mother for even causing this to happen. it would never come to any sort of resolution unfortunately, as her death in the great battle would not only cause great confusion on what he should do for his future, but also great emotional distress due to his love and closeness to Violetshade. his greatest comfort seems to have come from a strange place, Pikefur becoming his closest friend and now making sparring sessions their frequent hobby together as they work on both their mental and physical weaknesses.
