Hawk Courting the Bones Of Prey
Tribe of Floating Stones
a long-haired silver classic tabby with green eyes
Stone-guard
male
61 moons
Appearance
Hawk is the larger sibling to his brother, Talon, and never caused his parents any worry. It is easy to become lost or entranced in the safety of his calming green eyes. The teller interpreted his birth vision as being viridescent orbs having eyesight worthy of a hawk, earning him his name. He possesses a white wispy mane around his muscular neck flowing into a similar mix of colors for his underside. The dark streak of gray along his back that leads to his tail is silky but otherwise very average for a long-haired cat.
The tabby stone-guard is a very long muscular fighter grown into the large paws needed to watch over those and fight for their safety if so be. His head and muzzle are solid in shape, making him appear nothing but a brutish knight consumed in duty. Hawk is well versed in meditation and has taught himself how to control his breathing, earning him practiced yet admirable stamina.

Personality
Nobly[+]: Hawk breathes like one of blue blood in his appearance and qualities. Finding his sense of belonging in righteous gestures and words. Despite the cold face of a stone-guard willing to lay his life to protect, Hawk is very welcoming and morally sound. A properly practiced master of chivalry and modesty. And yet occasionally satisfaction can twist his usual demeanor if the speaker's words are to his cravings. However, much like his brother, he can be easy-going and looks for ways to serve members of the tribe with their tasks if he is free from duties to assist.
Valor:[+]: Hawk has received the strength of spirit that enables him to encounter danger with personal bravery. It’s either me or my enemies, and I am of little regrets in dealing with evils. His heroism in the face of calamity is not to be confused with recklessness. Hawk honors control but occasionally can get carried away. But through it all, the stone-guard is selfless, and sees the value in protecting life as most important.
Stoic[-]: With Hawk’s deep love for his role in his tribe, there is still a responsibility he must carry on his back. The silver tabby can appear detached and even depressed at times when it is not the case at all. He can be caught speaking in a very matter-of-fact fashion which can upset some. The stone-guard can appear reluctantly uninterested in talk of politics, but overall he is unambiguously cool-headed. However, those that know him well understand that Hawk is a sucker for a subtle delivered discussion of the very politics that torment them all. He has a fine eye for pretty presentations that may require further discussion.
Subservient[-]: He may have lost the conquest for head stone-guard to his brother; but Hawk overcame jealousy quickly. It is simply destiny unfolding that Talon received the role, and wouldn’t want to lose his favor. More or less, Hawk has come to the conclusion that he wasn’t up to the task, that Talon deserved it more. Through his more outward traits, deep down Hawk is a desperate pit for inclusion and affection. There is an oddly condemning perception that if he cannot serve in a meaningful way then he is incapable of happily existing.
History
In his first instances of understanding his two paths, Hawk was instantly drawn towards being a stone-guard. Giggling at the praise of both his parents for his fitness and large build, he was simply born to be a stone-guard without a question. Hawk is the non-spoiled brother, not needing extra care to be kept alive like his brother. The young cat was mischievous and did little to smoother the words of those who perceived Talon as spoiled. Furthermore, he has even laughed at him spitefully in their boyhood, but that quickly was put to a stop by his parents.
Hawk watched with an invisible eye roll as Talon cut ties with their parents for spoiling him; he thought it childish and not a proper solution. They were inseparable to-bes only, separated for training by their mentors. As they matured their competitiveness also grew, and lots of silly competitions of who could protect better arose out of the silliest of things. During Hawk's time as a to-be leading up to his becoming of a full-fledged stone-guard, he witnessed Lark's exiling from the Tribe after murdering Owl. As a young, impressionable to-be, Hawk remembers this cruelty as shameful to everything the Tribe strives to be. It is disgusting to him that one of their own would cannibalize another, similar to how they suffer attacks from coyotes.
Hawk received the ultimate slap in the face when he lost the title of head stone-guard to his brother after the previous tribemate to hold the position passed away. Hawk felt himself self-loathe, like no other soul was capable of, unable to sleep and unable to comprehend how his brother had bested him in the manner.
Hawk now knows how narrow his perspective was in his youth. Talon is a better head stone-guard than he could ever be. More pressing threats loom over them as the Tribe even now continues to struggle, and death is everywhere they turn. There simply isn’t time to continue their brotherly rivalry to the extent it once was. Currently, Hawk carries out his role as a stone-guard amid Fog as the new stone-teller. It’s become second nature more so for Hawk to blame himself for the beginnings of defiance that ensued after numerous tribemate deaths. His honor in protecting the Tribe comes first, above all, and while he is no vision interpreter, Hawk holds a very optimistic mindset that things will get better.
Hawk has contently worked with RedwoodClan warriors and is forever grateful to them. Sharing culture with them are some of his fondest memories, as their ways proved to be more intriguing than he initially believed. It is in his opinion Tribe owes its life to Orchidshade's. For even if Swoop still lost his life to sickness, it is the thought and charity of the clancats that counts to Hawk.
It is in Hawk's subservient nature to be content with who is in power, as long as it is under thoughtful circumstances. He is a Fog supporter, wanting nothing more than to simply support Creek's choice. It is his belief that Fog and the visions he interprets cannot be all to blame for their misfortunes. Hawk has strived from his very first moments of understanding that diligence and courage will see the Tribe through.
