Burrow where foxes hide
Tribe of Floating Stones
long-haired black and white tom with yellow eyes
Prey-hunter
male
63 moons
Appearance
Born to two stone-guards, Burrow had a strong build and large frame. He's fluffy and bulky and is almost double the size of his oriental clanmates. He stands out like a bit of a sour thumb, his pelt as black as night and body large and cumbersome. He tends to come across as intimidating, looking more threatening than he actually is. Despite that he tends to have pretty bad posture, usually slouching low to try and appear smaller than he is.
Burrow's fur is long, thick and very soft. The bravest of cats who are willing to get close enough to him to touch it claim it feels like soft clouds on a warm summer's day. His fur is a deep black, with only a few white markings. His most distinct marking is a little strip of white on his chin. Other than that he has a white chest and white toes.
Burrow's face is rather intimidating. He has a hard time expressing himself and tends to look mad all the time despite his actual feelings. He's constantly frowning and looks ready to kill someone at the slightest insult. His face is round and his nose is rather flat. His eyes only make him more intimidating. They are a piercing yellow that haunt the nightmares of kits.

Personality
Despite his meek nature, Burrow is rather determined. When he puts his mind to something he'll see it through. As a to-be when he decide he would be a prey-hunter, there was nothing that could stop him.
Burrow is a kind soul. He loves his clanmates and always does his best to make sure they are cared for. He will do his best to go out of his way to give small gifts to others and secretly check in on those who are sick.
Burrow is a bit of a coward. He tends to avoid direct confrontation and will often hide his thoughts and beliefs if they could cause trouble with his clanmates. He takes insults and bullying without standing up for himself. He doesn't like pain, avoiding physical fights as much as possible.
Burrow has never been the best at speaking up. He's a quiet sort and enjoys pleasant silence and peaceful nights. Since he never really spoke about his interests, it took his parents by surprise when he became a prey-hunter. He still is rather hesitant to open up to others and struggles to make connections.
History
When Burrow was born, the teller saw nothing but a dark, empty den. The world was still around her, and eerily silent. But when Rain peeked closer, she saw a bright red fox glaring back at her from deep within the den. The fox stood protectively over three fox pups who mewled at her side.
Born to two stone-guards, it was obvious the huge Burrow would take after his parents. His father Gloom gathering beneath the branches was a strong and well-respected stone guard. And his mother, Larkspur clasping rainfall was much the same. They both came from long, respected lines of stone-guard and had the builds to match. Burrow was their only kit in their first litter and took after their large builds and intimidating demeanour. If kits didn't run away after seeing his mother's face, they would after seeing his. So, Burrow had a bit of a lonely kithood in the nursery. His closest friends were his parents and the has-beens too blind in their old age to see his face. This never bothered Burrow, he loved his parents and hearing stories about the past.
When he became a to-be, his denmates weren't as scared of him as they were before. Instead, they chose to avoid him often whispering petty insults behind his back. Burrow didn't care, he trudged on as his parents had taught him and was determined to be a strong asset to his clan. While he learned as a to-be, Burrow quickly took up an interest in hunting. Despite his size and legacy, he loved hunting and did whatever he could to make up for his lack of speed. He'd never reach the heights of the other prey-hunters who were fast and lithe, but Burrow wanted to hunt. It was as simple as that. When it came time for him to graduate to a fledging, he worked hard to convince the Stone-Teller to make him a prey-hunter. His hard work and love for hunting were enough, and he got the rank he wanted.
Burrow's parents were less than pleased. As a to-be, they dismissed his interest in hunting as a phase and always thought he would wake up one day and realize what he was built for. Even after he was named a prey-hunter for the clan his mother was sure he would one day switch to being a stone-guard like he was supposed to. Gloom did not foster such hope.
As a prey-hunter, Burrow kept working hard to prove his rank and support his clan how he wanted. He's learned to use his size to his advantage, often taking on the task of hunting large prey and protecting his fellow prey-hunters. He's become fond of fishing, as it doesn't require as much agility as other prey.
Burrow's only gotten more intimidating. Despite not taking part in many fights, he's gotten a few scratches and scars from large prey but he wears them with pride. He's still the closest with his parents, never quite figuring out how to make friends. Despite that, he loves spending time with other prey-hunters and hopes to make a few close friends.
Sickness overtook the tribe again and again, taking Burrow's grandfather with it. But it brought other changes as well. Gloom and Larkspur decided to have a second litter, and Butterfly who Dances in Wind was born. Still living in the family's den, Burrow was around to see his brother grow. Gloom takes a keen interest in his second son and starts training Butterfly into the proper Stonegaurd Burrow failed to be. Burrow grows distant from his family as Gloom ignores him and focuses on their new, better child. Despite that, he still does his best, bringing the three of them prey.
With a strained connection to his family, Burrow starts to spend time with Laurel from where raven perches. His father had always disavowed his sister for her choice to become a prey-hunter and kept Burrow away from her and her son. But now with his parent's attention elsewhere, Burrow finds he has much in common with Laurel and the tom turns into his closest friend. At the same time, the tribe is ravaged by starvation and coyotes. While Burrow does his best to hunt and aid the stone guards, nothing seems to be working. Only an older preyhunter named Sumac seems to be capable enough to help. Burrow starts to admire the tom and builds his confidence enough to be an open supporter.
Fire hits the tribe, and emerging from it Sumac steps forwards as their new leader.
When a blizzard hits, Burrow is forced to abandon his den. Once his family is safe, he goes looking for a cute she-cat who's occupied his thoughts. He and Cloud, stay together and weather the storm.
