DAWNLIGHT
REDWOODCLAN
pretty ruddy ticked tabby she-cat with green eyes
warrior
she-cat
29 moons
Appearance
True to RedwoodClan form, Dawnlight is tall with long legs and powerful muscles. She's distinctly feminine, with a lithe, narrow frame and long spine. She holds herself well, head up, ears forward, her beautifully plumed tail held over her spine with dignity. There's a spring to her step, a lightness she just exudes in her presence. She's a cat that takes pride in her appearance and it shows in her immaculately groomed coat.
Her pelt is a mottle of rich auburns, russets, creams, and even black, all perfectly ticked in a stunning tabby pattern. There's sharp counter shading along her spine, boasting a dark stripe that runs from the base of her neck to the tip of her tail. Her fur is medium length and rather feather-like in texture, but has a thick undercoat.
Her face is very angular, with a narrow muzzle and a thick set of white, wide sweeping whiskers. Her ears are a bit wide set, giving her head a wider base at the top. Her eyes stand out in sharp contrast against her russet fur, a startling, brilliant shade of green. If one looks at them long enough, which is rather hard because she's always moving, one can see the lines of brown, more prominent in her right eye, that form shapes like tiny scales.

Personality
Energetic & Kind
Dawnlight is as her name suggests. She's a bright, bubbly thing and exudes this in everything she does. She sees the good in everything and takes life punches with a grin. She's warm, one can't help but feel good around her, and if they are having a bad day, Dawnlight makes it a point to make sure they have one good thing about their day. Dawnlight is friend to just about everyone in the clan, jumping from cat to cat like a bumblebee bobbing from flower to flower. She's a sociable cat and loves to be surrounded by others and to be mean to anyone is simply unacceptable to her. She's even been known to bow out of lesser, milder border skirmishes and fights, refusing to fight anyone other than the meanest, most deserving of a swat or two.
Dedicated & Amiable
Despite being a bubbly, bright she-cat, which often times leads other to believe her as frivilous, Dawnlight is dedicated to the task at hand and loyal to her family. Even if someone dislikes her, (as she knows sometimes her brightness can be a bit blinding) she makes it a point to get to know everyone at least on some personal level. Dawnlight completes her tasks with a vigor that is almost frightening. If someone needs her to be quiet and just sit and listen, she can very easily do that. Dawnlight puts almost an exhausting amount of energy into her relationships.
A Dunce with ADHD
Let's be honest, okay. As sweet and kind as this girl is, she's a bit of an idiot. She has her moments, but overall, she is not the sharpest claw on the paw. Her mouth and body tend to run away from her brain, so when she gets flustered, she rambles, and when she rambles, she's like to trip over her own words, which then leads to her tripping over her paws. Dawnlight is quite frankly, a bit of a mess. A fun, harmless mess, but a mess none the less. She has trouble focusing on more than one thing at a time, and has been known to forget certain things if someone pours a lot on her at one time.
Anxious & Autophobic
Dawnlight does not function well alone. She gets panicky when left to her own thoughts for too long, and tends to be a runner when things get hectic. She doesn't know why, but when she's alone, it's like the quiet is trying to eat her alive. She's okay on short excursions like hunting parties and such, but she cannot function without some type of social interaction at some point during the day. She's also afraid of being a burden to anyone, so she's not one to come out with it and say what she wants. She's a cat that's all about giving, not taking, so when it comes to her own needs, she is most certainly lacking. She's been said to be too happy a lot of times, but she's very much a character who doesn't like to be sad. She's happy all the time because she's a firm believer that if you act happy, despite not being so, long enough, you will be happy.
Conflicted
In recent events, with the threat of LichenClan and war looming over her clan's head, Dawnlight has become conflicted in her loyalty to her clan and her mate. More than once, she has envisioned running away with her mate to escape the threat of war and endless fighting, for she cannot bear to lose more family and friends. Yet, as time passes, Dawnlight finds herself at odds with her clan members, some finding themselves thirsting for the war ahead, others wanting to run. Dawnlight feels strangely out of place among her clan, and often wonders if her clan will ever unite under one cause again. It no longer feels like a family to her.

History
KITHOOD
Dawnkit was born to a large litter, the middle child, and from the start, was easily overlooked due to her meek, amiable nature to agree to anything and everything. She grew up surrounded by her family, loved, but easily forgotten. She didn't take it to heart, her mother had many boisterous kits to look after, so she took it upon herself to be the ideal child. She never spoke out of turn, strove to never cause trouble, and even found herself mitigating many disputes if only help her mother gain a moment of peace. Her kithood was a simple time, one of peace, growth, and play.
APPRENTICESHIP
Dawnpaw's apprenticeship started off with no grand fanfare or lasting memories. She was a decent student the first moon, though her meek, overly-friendly nature made it hard for her to fight. Eventually, tragedy made it was into her life, like it does for everyone at some point. Two moons in her apprenticeship found Dawnpaw on hunting evaluation alongside two litter mates, Foxpaw and Thrushpaw. Her brothers proposed a challenge among themselves; whoever fetched the largest piece of prey with the least damage done to the fresh-kill's corpse, would be the winner. Foxpaw and Thrushpaw, being brave individuals with an arrogant nature, made the the competition a one-sided thing between the brothers. Dawnpaw stood no chance, she knew this, but she decided to play along.
What should have been good fun ended with two dead apprentices and a traumatized Dawnpaw. The brothers' friendly competition turned heated and before they knew it, they found themselves too close to Bear Stones. They'd been there plenty of times before, being the toms that they were, only to discover that the bear was more often rumor than truth. But this time, the bear was most definitely there.
When the three apprentices did not show up that night and their mentors could not track them the next day, the Clan grew worried. The second day, the clan grew desperate. For two days, Dawnpaw hid in a crevice nearby the Bear Stones, with nothing but the ravenous, angry bear and the bodies of her two brothers for company. The bear left the second night, but Dawnpaw was too frightening to move, too in shock. She'd spent the first night comforting her brothers, who struggled through grievous wounds. Their deaths were not quick, nor were they painless. Her two strong brothers spent the night mewling for their mother like lost kits and Dawnpaw could do nothing but lick them, too frightened to even find venture out of their hiding place to find a poppy seed or two near by to ease their journey.
Dawnpaw was never the same afterward. For two moons, she walked around camp like a ghost, unresponsive, frightened of her own shadow. She would not eat, would not sleep, and would not venture outside camp unless she had her mother or at least two warriors by her side. She did not even speak, only spent most of her days and nights sheltered in a corner of the medicine cat den, staring into the open air in front of her. The night terrors were horrid; her clan could only handle her screaming and thrashing for a quarter moon before they begged the medicine cat to give her poppy seeds and chamomile to sleep and calm her down.
No one is quite sure what made Dawnpaw come out of her stupor. One morning, she just stood up, attached herself to a dawn patrol, and feel right back into her duties without a care in the world. She was clingier, jumpier, and refused to be alone, but she was learning quicker, retaining more, and applying herself well, so no one thought anything of her sudden recovery or bright, cheery demeanor. They left it as it was, as things were heating up between LichenClan and RedwoodClan once more. And warriors were needed.
WARRIOR STATUS
Not long after her recovery, Dawnlight came into being. She was named for her adversity to always see the light in others despite the bad times. She took care of her clan like a mother would a kit, content to provide and never making herself stand out in achievements. She made it her personal goal to never again fall into the pit of despair she had fallen into when her brothers died. She vowed to never again let her clan down. Dawnlight still struggles with the night terrors, but she manages to keep it secret. She fakes her happiness long enough to believe she truly is happy, and she is. She really is.
Dawnlight continued in such a manner for moons, seeing her first apprentice through his training, proudly being the first to shout his warrior name of Hazelberry. She sometimes struggles to view him as a capable warrior, for she remembers his gangly, uncoordinated self as a youngster, but she will never express this to him, because she does not ever want him to doubt himself. She is proud to stand beside him as an equal.
Over time, Dawnlight found herself drawn into a strange dance of a sort with Loudstorm. What started off as a training session to work on her abysmal fighting skills ended in a silly game of tag. From that point on, the two found themselves sneaking off to play games of all things, flirting shamelessly with each other through hide and seek and snowball fights like little kits. It was a bit of a shock, and not, to many in the clan to find out that the two would become mates.
Now, Dawnlight struggles with her weakening faith in her clan and, as old demons begin to crop up within her head, it's only a matter of time before something breaks.
