REED THAT GROWS
BY RIVER
Tribe of Floating Stones
long-haired cream tabby tom with brown eyes and a crippled hindleg
stone-guard
male
31 moons
Appearance ; no i won't wait much longer
other possible names: peak where eagle soars, crag where nest lies, ember of dying flame
Reed isn't as large as many would believe stone-guards to be, but he still is slightly bigger than the average cat, both in height and in mass. A lot of his size is fur, but underneath, he still has well-sculpted muscles, ones created more for speed rather than strength.

Personality ; cause these walls they're crashing down
+ Charismatic, humble, selfless, purposeful, calm
- Unquestioning, shortsighted, passive, insecure, cautious
Reed is a well-known cat within the tribe, but not for his skills in battle, or his swiftness in hunting. Rather, he's made a reputation for himself through his charming nature. Ever since he was young he had a friendly and outgoing disposition, one that made it easy for him to make friends. The right words come naturally to him, as if the Tribe of Endless Life themselves blessed him with a silver tongue, though there are still those tribe-mates who dislike him. His aversion to conflict and confrontation can be an annoyance to some, who may even view him as a pushover.
He doesn't object to such claims, of course, not wanting to cause a fuss. Instead he takes the criticism and adds it to the list of things he's already self-conscious about. While he's well-liked by his peers, he still has many insecurities, the biggest being his crippled leg. His biggest fear is that he isn't anything but a burden to his family and friends, or the tribe in general, so he does his best to work hard and prove that he's capable. He's reluctant to admit to needing help because of this. He tries his best to carry burdens on his own, all while pretending he's fine.
Speaking of, Reed is a good actor. He can be considered a 'worry-wort,' overthinking and stressing himself about little things, all while projecting an outward sense of calm, masking his feelings so that no one worries about or gets upset alongside him. Hiding his feelings has become a bad habit of his, to the point that only family and close friends can get to see past his facade of levelheadedness. He's used to being the voice of reason, so he feels that it's his responsibility to stay rational and calm, even in moments of crisis.
Said loved ones are probably the most important thing to him. They're the staple of his life, so much so that he's willing to throw his life away if it means keeping them safe. Really, he would endanger himself to protect anyone in the tribe, or even someone outside of it. He cherishes life in all forms, as he was brought up to do, though it can be questionable whether he extends this to his own life or not.

History ; and i keep coming up short
MOTHER;
FATHER;
SISTER/BROTHER;
MENTOR; Puddle From Falling Rain (deceased, killed by sickness)
relatively uneventful time growing up. when he becomes a to-be he and his sibling(s)/friends sneak out one night, encountering a fox that wandered over the sandbar and onto the island. he distracts it while they go to get help. he manages to find a burrow where it can't get to him, though not before it horribly wounds him, leaving one of his back legs crippled. his self-confidence is ruined, but with the help of his family and friends, he ends up getting through the rest of his training and becoming a stone-guard. also has some head trauma (frequent headaches, sensitive to light and sound, has trouble falling and staying asleep)
