Southern Star that Fell from sky
Tribe of Floating Stones
lanky and longhaired cream rosetted tabby cameo molly with low white and dull yellow eyes
prey-hunter
transgender molly
43 moons
Appearance
i know this will mess things up tonight
Somewhat of an oddity, South is sandwiched in between the average prey hunter and average stone guard. Given that her parents are one of each, it makes sense that she is a fine blend of the group's traditional features. She is tall but not gigantic, about 10 inches (25 cm) at the shoulder due to lengthy legs. She has a slim build with exaggerated angles, more lithe and lanky than hulkingly muscular. Though due to her recent ill health, she looks considerably more gaunt than normal. She only weighs 9 lbs (4.0 kg).
With a semi-long and dense coat, it is a blessing from the ancestors that she sheds during the warmer moons. She appears much slimmer than many longhairs because her fur clings close to her body. South has a waterproof outer coat and a soft, dense undercoat which aid her in keeping warm when she fishes. Overall, her fur is silky smooth and falls off her body like water. Often darkened with dust and other debris, it is a challenge for her to keep her coat clean.
At the first glance, it may look like South has simply a white coat. But her fur is creamier than that of the typical white cat, the first sign that she is more than what meets the eye. Her silvering gene makes what would have been an already pale cream coat even lighter. But she is indisputably a tabby due to the faint markings on her face and rosettes on her sides. In the center of her forehead, there is a small dash of darker ginger. She bears snippets of white spotting on her chest and toes, though they are hard to spot.
South has fine facial features, including angular eyes, a longer muzzle, and high cheekbones. There are small tufts at the tips of her ears and she has a peach colored nose. Her eyes are a dull yellow, nearing the color of brass or mustard. South moves elegantly and confidently, though as of late her head is often bowed. Her voice is soft and youthful, a little nasally but pleasant to listen to. She smells of distant petrichor and honey, and has only a couple unnoticeable scars crossing her skin.

Personality
but god it feels so good to close my eyes
+ inquisitive, caring, witty
A naturally curious cat even having left her youthful innocence far behind, South can't help but be interested in the things going on around her. She's always down to learn new things and will get excited about fresh experiences. Sometimes she's a little nosy, but means well, and will back off and apologize if you express discomfort. Because at the center of it all, South is an extremely warmhearted cat. She will treat all cats with compassion, even if she know she won't receive it back. Having so many siblings taught her the importance of empathy, and she is the glue that held her friend group together.
Though sometimes she seems a little ditzy, South is a fun and witty molly. She will always have a wise one to crack or a dad joke to offer when needed, and prides herself in making others smile. When others are hurting, she's always willing to shine a light and some humor on the situation if they need it.
- flirtatious, reckless, melancholy
Since South is naturally a social butterfly, her charisma comes with a healthy dose of flirtatiousness. She'll poke fun and flirt with friends, and pretty much any cat, though most know she's just a tease. It can come off as overbearing and she doesn't often notice when she makes other cats uneasy. If it's communicated to her, she'll certainly cease her advances. Despite her position as the family's rock, South isn't exactly the one to rein in the group. On the contrary, she often supports rash behavior. It's gotten her into a couple tough spots, but she remains the fun-loving and act-before-you-think type.
Though most of her life has been carefree, South's personality has recently taken a big shift. Though flickers of her old self are still there, the loss of her sibling has dampened the flame of her spirits to embers. A haze of melancholy rests over her now, and it's up to her friends and family to start to build her back up again.

History
i'll say that i've been trying to move on
South was born last in a fairly large litter to mother Rook who Nests High Above and father Hail Falling During Thunderstorm. It was their first litter, and all their kittens were healthy which was a joy. The vision the teller saw when they laid their eyes upon South was of a star. It was distinctly off of the south side of the island, and plummeted from the sky down into the water before vanishing with a flash of light. And so, Southern Star that Fell from Sky was her name.
South's grandmother Honey likened the pale kitten to her son when he was young, with a light coat and both names referencing things fallen from the heavens. Hail joked that it must run in the family. With four siblings to run around with—as well as her parents, uncles, two grandfathers, and a grandmother to boot—the kits were well cared for and very used to a large and loving family.
They were also used to being somewhat of an oddball family, as most cats tended to stick within their role when picking mates. But their mother was a stone guard and their father a prey hunter, and the siblings were variable in body shape and size—not just coat color. But they were happy, and told they could choose whichever role they felt they fit in best when they were to-bes. Both parents would be proud, no matter the path they took.
The five had a pretty carefree kithood, and were all made to-bes together. It was then that South really started to explore for friends outside her siblings, and that was when she met Lilac. Lilac that Blossoms after Rainfall was an only kit, and a moon or two older than she was. The molly was instantly smitten, though she didn't realize it right away. Lilac was kind and smart, and laughed at all of South's jokes that even her siblings found unfunny.
Needless to say, they were quick friends and Lilac was very swiftly adopted into the sibling's friend group. Not far into their trainee moons, South and her sibling Leaf encouraged the gang to venture out after dark to sit on the beach and watch the stars. Some were reluctant, but all were eventually convinced. But they were intercepted on the way to the shore by a trio of foxes. The group of inexperienced to-bes were no match for the predators, and South's sibling Reed told them all to run while they distracted them.
They hesitated, but at Reed's insistence, the group raced back to camp to gather help. When they returned to the scene with an entourage of stone guards, there were no foxes nor Reed to be found. After searching, they found them crammed into a burrow with a painfully broken leg. Thankfully, they was not injured enough for the Teller to fear they might lose their life, but they would have a limp in that leg that remained forever.
That was a bit of a wake up call for the to-bes, but they found pride in their work. All of them together supported Reed so that they would be able to join them when the time came for them to become hunters or guards, regardless of any injury. South became a prey hunter, some of her siblings chose the same as her and others opted for the other path. Lilac had obviously been built for a stone guard, with a stone colored coat and a strong, solid build. That combined with the pressure from her parents and the fact that she was their only offspring... forced her paw a little.
But she didn't mind at all, she had liked hunting but always found herself to be better at battling and shows of strength. And all she cared about was that she could still be friends with everyone... and no way in the Stars was Lilac going to give South and her friend group up. No matter what her parents said. Many cats spoke of friend groups dissolving after cats were given their adult positions, but South and her siblings and rag tag group of friends didn't seem to grow apart.
It became very quickly evident that Lilac and South were built for more than friends, though South's family was very close with Lilac and supported their courting, Lilac's family was a lot more conservative. The pair are simply so smitten with one another that nobody was very surprised when they announced they were to be mates. Some might have said they were moving fast, but anyone with eyes could see that the two mollies were made for one another.
The pair of new mates settled in well with one another, finding a new den to begin their loves together just before leafbare struck. And sickness once again hit the clan hard. Though South's family was unaffected, she and Lilac both became sick. Lilac moreso than herself, but with herbs from Redwoodclan they were both able to recover. They made it through, though the whole tribe had been left weakened by their losses.
Though no one in her family had been lost, many of South's tribemates were and Lilac's lungs had been left weakened. Thankfully, the warmer season spelled a more hopeful time as South's parents announced that they would be having a second litter. She and her littermates were excited to welcome new siblings into the world, and it was then that South discovered her longing for a family of her own.
But before she could speak with Lilac about that, the greenleaf heat settled in on the island, and one of South's siblings Leaf was lost in a storm. The tribe assume that they drowned, as Leaf had loved hunting along the beach and South often joined them, but their body was never found. It was a hard pill to swallow that the family couldn't bury Leaf next to their ancestors and deceased tribemates, but they would return to the earth no matter where their body's resting place was.
The loss of Leaf hit South very hard, as she was especially close with them as both prey hunters often went out together. She never would have expected to lose any of her family after the leafbare passed, and lapsed deep into grief. Her mate and remaining family are the things that keep her going each day, but there is a lack of light in her eyes after the loss of Leaf that she must figure out how to reignite.
we both know i'm not
