CREEKSHADE
LICHENCLAN
Weedy, lilac spotted tabby tom with green eyes.
warrior
Tom
17 moons
Appearance
Build -
Creekshade's physical characteristics are unmistakably that of a LichenClan cat, his body slimmer and less bulky than average. His build could even be seen as weedier than that of your average LichenClan cat, limbs appearing somewhat spindly and rather short, leaving the tom less than intimidating to others. His features are surprisingly rounded in places rather than gracefully accentuated, leaving the tom with a semi-elongated snout and a rounded head and streamline body. His tail is thin and short much like his other limbs, while his ears are thin and pointed. Rather unfitting in relation to his aloof personality, Creekshade's eyes are large and rounded, a vibrant green making the tom seem a lot more curious and approachable than he wishes to be.
Pelt -
Creekshade boasts a coat that fares well within his Clan, lilac base blending in rather well with the sand and his paler chest and muzzle working as a highlight. Head, tail and legs shaped by the telltale tabby striping common to most cats, the rest of Creekshade's body is coated in pale spots of the same colour. Creekshade's coat also carries sandier, deeper tones much reminiscent of his brother's more striking colours. Creekshade's coat lacks the common feathering within his Clan, though is short and smooth, making it easy to dry off after a swim.
Misc. -
- Creekshade's nose is rosy in colour, his paw pads a light pink.
- Creekshade has maintained several large, visible scars from a fox attack on his hindlegs.

Personality
" If I must have blood on my paws to meet this end, then so be it."
Traits -
|| Observant | Clever | Decisive | Studious | Methodical ||
Though aiming to seem quite distant and cold to his peers to avoid needless interaction, Creekshade is surprisingly well-versed in treating important cats with respect and knowing how to act around others. He isn't one to talk back needlessly, whether due to self-preservation or a lack of dedication to his own complaints. Being rather content with simply being safe and protected, he finds he has little to complain about, and what he could complain about would only put him at risk to mention as such. As a result, Creekshade has taken to being an observer, aware of his surroundings, how others interact, learning strategies and daily occurrences at a fast pace due to his concentration. Creekshade is a quick learner in a visual sense, though excels in tasks of thought and puzzling situations, methodical in his approach to solving problems and decisive in times where quick decisions must be made to save his hide.
|| Unsentimental | Solemn | Solitary | Quiet | Deceptive ||
If there is one thing that Creekshade always fails to understand on a personal level, it is sentiment. He is well aware of its impact on other cats, how usually meaningless things can gain meaning to just a single other, yet Creekshade sees no use in attaching himself to sentimental objects and acts. Though this allows him to distance himself emotionally to avoid harm, it also distances him from fellow cats and adds to his struggles of kinship. As such, Creekshade is solitary and quite used to it, finding it easier to trust himself than the cats around him. Serious and expectant of trouble or danger, Creekshade emotes rarely and instead chooses to remain quiet and solemn. Relying on reservation and being able to keep to himself while still relying on others, he has adapted to be rather deceptive in his social endeavours, too distrustful to remain truthful and not hopeful enough in others to do much more than use them when needed.
|| Uncharitable | Expedient | Paranoid | Nihilistic | Aloof ||
Being so distrustful of others and paranoid of possible betrayal, Creekshade is uncharitable to others, if on a subtler level. As far as he is aware, Creekshade has a debt to pay to his Clan for survival, though all else is free for him to choose. As such, he is aware of give-and-exchange as a proper method to his survival, yet also relies on expedience to have his way. Creekshade works on the assumption that given the chance, his clanmates would turn on him at the drop of a hat if they needed to, so he is free to act the same. As such, Creekshade is a nihilist and is quick to assume the worst if he can manage to shield himself from it by his own means. Aware of his own beliefs and the weight they carry, the tom is aloof in his approach to those he'd usually consider his equals, whether by choice or simply second nature. This demeanour is mostly an act, however, as Creekshade is a coward at heart and chooses to avoid conflict and risk where possible. Though quick to act defensively, Creekshade does not willingly express fear unless useful for a cause, though quite a few stimuli can cause him to inadvertently express his true cowardice.
Beliefs -
Like most LichenClan cats, Creekshade's belief in StarClan is engrained into his very being, though his approach to this belief is rather different. Rather than seeing StarClan as an ally, Creekshade fears them as a destructive and powerful force, more worried about their possible wrath than their blessings and protection of the clans beneath them. Creekshade believes that StarClan is to blame for his brother's jealousy, and often sees the tom's behaviour towards him as a divine punishment, of sorts.
Goals -
Creekshade's goals remain simple, all driven by two simple needs; staying alive and keeping himself safe. Creekshade wishes to overcome the dangers that supposedly surround him, to one day surpass his brother in ability and to prove himself a force to be reckoned with.

History
Prior to birth -
Creekshade's parents, devout believers in StarClan had united after a lifetime of shared experience with each other in LichenClan's ranks. Values aligned, their romance had carried on since early warriorhood, where the two would often complete chores and tasks together and share friendly banter while away from prying ears. As time progressed, the two became inseparable and began to share deeper thoughts and ideals, before finally declaring their status as mates. When Creekpaw's mother finally announced that she was with kits, the two saw this as StarClan's blessing and were all too excited to meet their kin.
Kithood -
The two were rewarded with a pair of kits, Creek-kit being the second-born. Scrawny at birth, the firstborn was surprisingly larger than he was, being dubbed Riverkit as a way to visualise the future strength he'd carry. Though the difference in size was worrisome, both seemed healthy and responded well to their mother's care. As such, the pair's wish had come true, two healthy sons were now a part of their family and with luck, both would thrive.
Whilst growing, differences between Riverkit and Creek-kit became more noticeable. Riverkit was living up to the expectations that his parents had inadvertently pushed onto him with their pride, an outspoken and bold young cat who knew how to stand his ground. Creek-kit, however, was less sociable and playful. He stayed to himself or often retreated back to his mother rather than playing with the other kits, seemingly shy and quick to escape from any play-fights or games in general. Whether meaning to or not, his parents only worsened this by directing their attention to him and casting his brother aside.
The pair didn't mean to leave Riverkit behind in their endeavours, but it was inevitable. They only had so much time to give and Creek-kit wasn't improving his asocial behaviour, causing Riverkit to become more and more frustrated with his family's neglect of his needs. In spite, at times, Riverkit's frustrations were vented onto his smaller brother, the larger tom often roughing him up from time to time in guise of play. Creek-kit grew more and more wary of the treatment, distrustful of his family as a result and evasive regarding contact for fear of situations turning violent.
Apprenticeship -
Happy to see their son finally playing with his brother, and Creekpaw's nature disallowing him from speaking of its true nature, rather confused and disorganised, himself, the pair saw no issue when Creekpaw began to drift away from the family as a whole. They'd attributed it to his growth, not wanting to hold him back any further than they already had. Creekpaw's lack of control of his brother's actions was like a manifested fear to him, causing to attribute Riverpaw to a threat from StarClan itself. He despised such vulnerability, though as his brother grew stronger, Creekpaw was well aware that he'd have to deal with the situation and control it in his own way.
Appointed to Nightclaw, a warrior already under the watchful and suspicious eye of their leader, Creekpaw struggled to maintain what little reputation he had, while his brother trained under Minnowstar herself and only improved further. Once Nightclaw was punished, the young tom spent the majority of his training time with their deputy, Hemlockheart, resulting in a close tragedy that would haunt the tom for moons.
Hemlockheart had assigned a mock patrol in which he was to lead, made up of the sole trio of Creekpaw, Hemlockheart and Riverpaw. They encountered a fox on their trek towards RedwoodClan, and the young tom put together a plan to drive the predator into their neighbouring enemies. Planning to lure the fox to Riverpaw in order for the pair to drive the creature away, Riverpaw 'mysteriously' missed his cue, leading the fox to out-endure Creekpaw in his run and wound him harshly. Hemlockheart's appearance saved the young tom in the attack, though he was unable to train for quite some time.
In the meantime, Riverpaw's strength and prowess only built, until Creekpaw had fallen too far to catch up to his growth. As a last effort, he pushed his training harder, maintained his loyalty and provided his services in battle, though when the time came for them to earn their warrior names, his failure was clear.
Warriorhood -
Creekshade, as opposed to Riverblaze. His leader regarded him with a mix of suspicion and disinterest, while his brother was regarded with pride. His repentance and vigil were served without joy, and only days after the battle against RedwoodClan that had earned him his name, he returned to the Mooncave to reflect on his beliefs. His faith in the clan had faltered, just as they always had with StarClan.
