SETTING THE SCENE
The Islands are currently in the season of New-leaf (Spring). With the return of the sun, and the recent snow melt and rain, the island has slowly started to come back to life. Trees are sprouting tiny, flowering buds, while the forest floors and moors are returning to their lively, green color. The lake and rivers are swollen, abundant with water and food.
Prey is easy to find on the Islands. With the abundance of returning resources, prey has started to become plentiful on the island.
Note: Due to the season, there are no current modifiers for hunting accuracy.
There are no current weather alerts.
Mother nature is a ruling force, her moods and swings will dictate the lives of many including colonies of feral cats isolated on a lone island such as The Apostles. The site provides simple weather information to help establish the atmosphere on the island and to foster a creative environment and inspiration for members as they write posts. There have been many questions about what liberties members can take with the simple weather information given, and the guidelines that follow are an attempt to establish a boundary between minor and major weather events.
1. Minor weather events are events that do not need staff approval. These can include weather phenomena such as rain and thunder storms, small snow storms, wind storms, sunny weather, cloudy weather, fog, etc.
2. Within these minor weather events members are welcome to take creative liberties with how the weather will affect the course of their thread. Damage can occur to the environment or the member's character. For example, if during a thunder storm a member would like for a branch to fall from a tree while their character is out in the forest, they are free to do so. However, damage that would affect the clan as a whole (such as a tree falling in the middle of RedwoodClan camp, or flooding in ThistleClan, or a rockslide in the LichenClan caves) must have staff approval.
A general rule of thumb would be: Does this only affect the character(s) in this thread, or is this something that would affect characters outside of the thread and last for a longer period of time? If the event you wish to explore in your thread fits with the former, then feel free to use it. But if it would fit with the latter, then seek out staff approval before posting.
