ICEPAW
LICHENCLAN
graceful all white tom with ice blue eyes
MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICE
TOM
TEN MOONS
Appearance
Considering the fact that Icepaw already stands out by having a taller and slightly stockier frame than most of his Clanmates within LichenClan, Icepaw does not need another reason to stand out even further. But he does and others always know when Icepaw is near, even if he does not realize this himself fully. For Icepaw, he has always been this way, this graceful, this fluid; even for a LichenClan cat. Never mind the fact that Icepaw has a pure white and completely unblemished pelt. The tom does not even have a speck of other coloring within his fur. His fur is thin enough to be perfect for the environment that LichenClan finds themselves calling their home, next to the sea. His tail is moderately longer than usual but no one else usually notices that because of Icepaw’s natural ability to move so gracefully that his paws barely seem to register the ground beneath his paws. He is even more impressive when he’s in the waves of the ocean. Another attention-grabbing aspect of Icepaw’s appearance is his pure ice blue eyes. His whiskers are also very long, and Icepaw takes extra time making sure that each one is in its proper place. His claws are kept sharp are also well taken care of, thanks to the caves that make up his home.
Personality
This tom has always been talented as well as a quiet one. He's always been gifted in being able to show a gracefulness that most would never even dream of. Icepaw is elegant in everything he does, from fighting and hunting, to the way he moves and speaks; it simply oozes out of his very being.
Icepaw is quite sociable when the times call for such things and he does enjoy keeping up with what is going on in his Clan. The white tom is very kind-hearted and loving, which drips into his words easily. Even though he is still quite young, Icepaw has learned that most of the time it is better to be quiet and listen than it is to constantly be speaking. Oddly enough, this was one of the reasons why he was chosen as LichenClan’s medicine cat apprentice. He never expected such an honor, especially with his slightly unorthodox way of becoming a medicine cat apprentice. His Clan is already starting to trust his judgement on when to speak and when not to when it comes to hearing the voice of StarClan and interpreting any signs that StarClan might be showing the Clan.
This also means that Icefall is extremely adept at keeping secrets. He will tell no one else if someone comes to him in confidence, no matter what; even to his mentor, Cinderface. Though this also means that he also has secrets of his own that only a very few close friends have even come close to understanding. Icepaw is a quick learner and is constantly looking for ways to improve himself, the be a better cat for his Clan. He enjoys being alone but knows that in order to be an active part of the Clan, he needs to actually be part of the Clan. So, Icepaw has been doing his best to socialize with at least one cat from the Clan every day in order to improve that side of himself.
Icepaw has a small quirk that sometimes gets him in trouble when he’s not paying attention; the young tom daydreams a lot. The white apprentice has his head in the clouds whenever he does not have to be with other cats and he is also known to go take walks all by himself at night if there has been a particularly stressful day.
Another interesting avenue of Icepaw’s personality is that he has an intensely powerful sense of social justice and empowerment for the cats of his Clan. Though this sense of social justice also expands to those outside of his Clan as well. Icepaw takes the Warrior Code and everything that StarClan tells him to heart. He believes that compassion for all cats will only strengthen all of them. Icepaw knows deep in his very being that while the four Clans may be separate, they all deserve equal treatment so that they may all remain strong in order to get through life. As far as outsiders are concerned, Icepaw believes that while they aren’t necessarily supposed to join in Clan life, they should also be respected as cats and shown the same compassion and empathy as everyone else.

History
In the middle of leaf-bare, an older tom hissed anxiously as his mate let out another scream. Something was very wrong, and the Medicine Cat, Cinderface, was already doing everything he could. His mate had gone into labor early because of the harsh conditions this leaf-bare had placed on the Clans. She was barely alive, each scream getting weaker and softer. At this point, the Medicine Cat was just trying to save the kits. There was supposed to be three but none of them had arrived yet. Finally, just before his mate took her last breath, the Medicine Cat was able to save one of the kits. He was very handsome, a snow-white kit born with no blemishes. Dogfur loved his youngest son just as much as he grieved his mate. Icekit was suckled by a she-cat named Lilyshade. He had two older brothers and an older sister who has just been made apprentices. Icekit was very close with his father as a kit and even though Lilyshade was not his real mother, he always felt loved by Lilyshade as well.
When the time came for Icekit to become an apprentice, Dogfur and Lilyshade were both very excited to see what he would be capable of. Icepaw was given a mentor named Cloudwave. Cloudwave had been given a few apprentices before Icepaw but she wasn't quite old enough to be considered a senior warrior yet. Cloudwave had also been good friends with her mother and was still good friends with Lilyshade.
Throughout his apprentice training, Icepaw advanced quickly. His gracefulness and agility made him quick on her feet. He confused many with how he would twist and turn, never being in the same places more than once in battle. Icepaw found some aspects of hunting to be difficult for him to grasp with his fluid movements. The white apprentice had no problem hunting birds, especially when they took flight. But grounded animals like mice and voles were difficult to find the footing for. Icepaw had to learn how to be connected with the ground long enough to hunt properly which went against his very nature. Cloudwave also worked with Icepaw intensely to help him focus instead of daydreaming. She taught him that while it was good that he daydreamed, that there was a time and a place for such things. She taught him that daydreaming is good for the soul and to find inner peace but that too much would leave him feeling disconnected with everyone around him. Cloudwave continued to be a patient and understanding mentor to Icepaw as he was expected to learn how to defend his Clan.
At around nine moons old, tragedy struck LichenClan when a terrible storm started. The winds were the strongest that many of the Clan had ever experienced. The clouds made the sky as black as night. The rain pelted down harder than any cat could have ever imagined. One of the caves flooded by the nursery and in an attempt to save some of the kits; a few of the warriors tried to save them. Cloudwave was among one of them and was almost killed by drowning and Icepaw had been shoved hard enough by the water to cause his head to hit a rock hard enough to put him into a coma. The apprentice was told later that a couple of the other apprentices had jumped in to save him from drowning. During this coma, StarClan sent a she-cat to visit Icepaw. The she-cat was beautiful and Icepaw felt like he knew her, like she was part of him somehow. The she-cat told him not to be afraid and that StarClan was watching over him and had been for some time. She told him that his destiny was not to be a warrior and that he was destined to become much closer to them than any other cat within LichenClan, including their current Medicine Cat, Cinderface. She told him that they would continue to send signs to him from now on and would be patient as he learned his new purpose in becoming LichenClan’s next Medicine Cat. Icepaw tried to protest and asked who she was but with a soft smile, the she-cat replied that he already knew who she was before she disappeared.
When Icepaw woke up from his coma, it was revealed that he had been in the coma for four sunrises and many of the Clan were worried that he would not make it. Icepaw immediately told the Cinderface about his vision. Cinderface immediately went to discuss the vision with Minnowstar and Cloudwave. After some time, it was decided that Icepaw would now be receiving mentorship from Cinderface as his new apprentice. Cloudwave was very upset by this decision and refused to visit Icepaw afterwards, despite her recovering from her near death as well. Icepaw has taken Cloudwave’s silence rather hard even though Cinderface has wasted no time in starting to train Icepaw. Icepaw has already proven to be equally, if not more, talented with herbs and healing just like his fighting, hunting, and fishing skill. Icepaw is trying to do his best but he’s starting to see that Cinderface has some slightly weird personal customs. He’s trying to be open-minded but he can’t shake the feeling that something very wrong is on the horizon and he’s praying to StarClan that his new mentor will be alright and make it through.
