Beavergaze is an unusually large cat (even for a RedwoodClanner) that seems to hulk above others. The way he carries himself renders him unmistakable even from a distance, and his thick coat only furthers the impression of his formidable size. A thick, scarred hide covers a tough layer of fat that belies the rippling muscle underneath.
Beavergaze’s distinctive black mask transitions into a fluffy off-white mane and cowl. The chocolate saddle that so often seems to attract burrs and matts melts into a forest of darkening fur along his hindquarters and bushy tail.
Beavergaze seems to always hold a scowl, his brows creased around his icy blue eyes. His seemingly boundless whiskers are rarely drawn forward in greeting, preferring instead to flatten against his fluffy cheeks. With his eyes narrowed in passive judgement of his surroundings at nearly all times, Beavergaze is visibly perceptive.

Beavergaze’s love and patriotism for his clan is so great that it falls squarely into the realm of Jingoism, and can be seen in his aggressive and often hostile policy for dealing with any cat outside of Redwood Clan. In fact, it could be said that Beavergaze is Xenophobic due to his treatment of anyone deemed an outsider to him. He will rarely take time to make a second analysis of another living being. In his behavior and rapid formation of gestalt impressions, Beavergaze’s Severity is made apparent. He is strict and rapid with redress and restitutions. Perhaps due to his upbringing Beavergaze is quite Precautionary in that he prepares not for failure, but for the inevitability of loss of control and unpredictable factors. He seeks to always be prepared, and tries to impend this behavior upon his fellows and peers. Because of this, Beavergaze is kept busy preparing for what could be.Stoic, Dedicated, Romantic, Unorthodox
Acrimonious
Other cats rarely see the struggles that Beavergaze experiences within his being due to his Stoicism. Though he may seem to always be perturbed, it can not be said to be for any one reason. And though he may be perturbed, he never passes abuse onto his clanmates outside of training. And though he may seem to be severe to outsiders, Beavergaze has the utmost Dedication to his clan and the cats within it. Beavergaze quietly adores every cat in Redwood Clan from kit to Elder and performs his silent services and late-night hunts without complaint strictly for the betterment of his clan.
It is no secret that the ever-ardent Beavergaze is also a romantic. Not only is he romantic in his interactions with his love interest, but he seems to romanticize life in the clan itself. Every struggle is a battle against evil and an early death, and every act of heroism from his comrades is immortalized in his mind. Despite his seemingly traditional nature, Beavergaze is actually quite Unorthodox. He will consider novel approaches to challenging situations, and is unafraid to bend rules to achieve desired results- especially if the stakes are high enough to include the lives of others.
However, despite his love of his clan and the cats within it, he has earned a caustic degree of acrimony. His thoughts and ideas towards the leadership of Redwood Clan has left him bitter and outspoken to an almost warlike degree, and his Acrimonious speech and rhetoric can be polarizing for his clanmates. Or perhaps it is his own regret eating him away. Beavergaze was forever changed after the death of his apprentice, after all.

Beavergaze’s kithood was quite happy, though he remembers exactly none of it. His parents were loving and ensured that he was raised plump and active, and quickly passed him on to his apprenticeship to focus on their own duties.
Apprenticeship under Raggedthroat was an abrupt shock compared to his kithood. Beavergaze remembers nearly every moment of his intense and sometimes appalling training under the cruel cat, and it took him long after his apprenticeship to be grateful for any of it. The grizzled old tom ensured that Beavergaze was thoroughly prepared for any dangerous scenario, and taught him many a dirty trick. He was taught that rules could sometimes be skirted as easily as a clumsy blow, and that results were imperative. Beavergaze developed a mantra from the mangled veteran, one that he would carry into his senior warrior days.
Just before he was to be named a warrior, Beavergaze participated in the battle in which Bluetail lost his life. After the battle, Beavergaze was prematurely named a warrior and bestowed with his duties. Aided by a younger apprentice named Drizzlepaw, the newly minted Beavergaze tended to his wounds and sat his vigil with fresh injuries. Amid rising tensions, Beavergaze participates in more battles with Lichenclan and watches Gorseheart fall to tactics that he would later employ himself. Beavergaze watches several other warriors die in the same battle, warping his sense of duty and his relationship with the Warrior's Code.
Beavergaze was passed over for appointment to deputy in favor of Finchtail despite his qualifications and merits, causing the roots of a bitter seed to spread. Not long after, Heatherstar loses her last life and Finchtail is named Finchstar. Finchstar's appointment of the soft Minkfur over more loyal and proven warriors causes a sense of distrust to deepen within Beavergaze, and he watches with secret relish as the new deputy dies to a landslide.
Beavergaze's dissatisfaction only grew as Finchstar welcomed an outsider into the clan, and he announced publicly that the move would bring only disaster. His outburst was met and perhaps placated with the presentation of his first apprentice, a young molly named Willowpaw. Using the only example he had, Beavergaze employed the same training techniques that his mentor Raggedthroat had used on him. During one particularly perilous training exercise on the coast, the Apprentice Willowpaw was lost beneath the waves. Struck with abject grief, Beavergaze committed himself wholly to his duties and to uphold his idealized version of the Warrior Code, so that he may protect the entirety of RedwoodClan where he failed so utterly before.
Perhaps because of his frenzied state, Beavergaze refused to accompany Finchstar to the tribes and consequently participated in the raid on the RedwoodClan camp. Beavergaze managed to assist many cats, including his lifelong friend Drizzlepelt, and the assault was repelled at great cost.
Beavergaze is now a senior warrior, one of the few remaining in Redwood Clan. Starvation and war have sharpened Beavergaze into the keen point of a spear, and his early warrior days taught him as many lessons as his grueling apprenticeship. He now focuses his gaze on the task ahead that he has prepared for himself and follows a compulsion to protect his clan and force it to be better than ever before.
