CHARACTER RETIREMENT RULES
1. A character can enter a hybrid-non-playable-character (NPC) status, meaning they no longer occupy an active character slot in your roster and can be "retired", after they complete their narrative arc on the site, which can happen in 1 of 3 ways:
4. Once approved, your character will receive an "NPC" stamped on their bio and a notation in the allegiances, and enter a hyrbid-NPC state.
a. Reach 120 moons and retire to the elders/has-been den.2. You are not required to retire your character once they reach 80-120 moons. You can continue to roleplay them as an active character on your roster, and request for them to be moved to the elder/has-been's den (allegiances section) without "retiring" them. This includes warriors who receive major injuries. You can do this through a regular #maintenance-request.
b. Reach 80 moons and complete 30 in-character threads and retire "early" to the elders/has-been den.i. The 30 ic threads are a grand total of all of the character's threads on the site. It does not matter if they were redeemed for kits, ceremonies, stats, or all reached 6 posts in length. This also applies to the 50 threads below. We just want to see that they lived a rich life on the site.C. Complete 50 in-character threads and become an NPC in the allegiances.i. Character who become an NPC before reaching 80 moons must show "proof" of completing their arc. This is a written paragraph. They do not have to move to the elder's den.
a. Elders/has-beens can also continue to be created if you want to have an active elder on your roster.3. To submit a Character Retirement Request, fill out and submit the form in the tab above by replying to this thread and tagging staff in the the #maintenance-request channel on the discord for review.
4. Once approved, your character will receive an "NPC" stamped on their bio and a notation in the allegiances, and enter a hyrbid-NPC state.
This means the following:
7. You can opt to have your character peacefully pass away (or non-peacefully if you're a freak like that) at any point after their retirement. Simply submit a formal Character Archival Request.
8. If you have any questions about the retirement process, please reach out to a staff member for more information.
a. They cannot leave the NPC state.5. As stated above, Hybrid-NPC can only participate in 1 thread per year, and follow the NPC thread request process:
b. They no longer occupy a character slot in your roster.
c. They can no longer participate in site contests/events or request a litter roll to have kits (this includes surrogacy).
d. They can only participate in 1 thread per year.
a. Request an NPC thread via the #maintenance-requests channel for staff to review and track. You can do this by simply posting your thread starter link in the channel. Staff will track threads in an off-site spreadsheet.6. You can earn additional threads with your NPC characters by redeeming an NPC Thread Prize. You can redeem the prize in the #maintenance-requests channel, and it will be reviewed and tracked.
b. The thread(s) must be non-major plot related and low-key in nature, such as threading with a family member or friend, torturing an apprentice, or doing elder/has-been-related activities.
7. You can opt to have your character peacefully pass away (or non-peacefully if you're a freak like that) at any point after their retirement. Simply submit a formal Character Archival Request.
8. If you have any questions about the retirement process, please reach out to a staff member for more information.
