LILACmist
LICHENCLAN
a blue-and-cream tortoiseshell with green eyes
medicine cat app
female (she/her)
24 moons
Appearance
Lilacmist is smaller than her siblings. She is lithe and thin in shape. She will tower over none, instead staying no taller than the most average of LichenClan's ranks. Much of her small stature is hidden behind her long pelt, that which ties her to her parents in appearance the closest. She has the appearance of a frail, dying leaf, about to blow away in any wayward gust of wind.
Deep blue and pale cream mottled pelt cover Lilacmist's body. She has long, thick fur that grows wooly when not attended to, catching leaf litter and dust as she moves through the forest and caverns and forcing her to spend a great deal of time grooming as to not look too disheveled. A great mane of fluff extends around her neck and towards her chest, fur tufted into strands.
Lilacmist's nose is a dark salmon color and is small and petite in her face. She hosts long, graceful whiskers and pointed tall ears, and lacks the broader forehead of her parents in favor of a smaller, delicate head. Her eyes are yellow-green and almond-shaped. Moving up her face along the bridge of her nose is a streak of ginger. Cream dominates the left side of her face both under her eye as well as at her muzzle, whereas the right side is primarily blue except for a scattered arrangement of ginger hairs.

Personality
+ meticulous & fanatical -
Careful is a word too subdued to describe Lilacmist's attitude. She is precise and delicate, mind suited for detail work rather than big, spontaneous actions. She has a keen eye, and notices details others might not. While her ability to focus on the small picture can be to her benefit in some situations, she has a tendency to become pulled into obsessions. Though they aren't always long-lasting interests, when her focus narrows, she can have a hard time noticing or thinking about anything else. Often these little obsessions are about things that don't align with her tasks as a clanmate, distracting her from her duty with thoughts of StarClan or wildflowers or whatever piques her interest. When she is distracted in such a way, she can come off as being somewhat air-headed, when in actuality she is inherently quick to retain information (especially if it pertains to the thing she is taking interest in). + charming & sweet +
Lilacmist's general disposition lends her to be a very charming child. Should she desire attention, she can usually gain it, as she is particularly pathetic when young. She has a way of speaking that can be simple or eloquent depending on the moment and is generally disposed to kind glances rather than those of annoyance. Combined with a sweet, innocent personality, Lilacmist will have no issue finding friends when she wants them, being a kitten that is generally able to get along with everyone.- fearful & shy -
Though Lilacmist might be skilled with people, she finds utilizing such things often difficult. She tends to be a shy individual, rarely speaking up when given the choice to remain quiet and passive. She has a tendency towards being fearful as well and is easily swayed about what might have the potential to be frightening. She believes others implicitly unless it is proven she should think otherwise. Many of her core memories have set her up in this way, creating tension between herself and some of her clanmates at her mother's instruction. - impatient & determined +
There is little that will stand in the way of Lilacmist achieving her goals when her mind is set. When she takes an interest in something, specifically if it involves a specific task or effort, she is drawn in to complete it. She is determined by nature, though she can verge into being impatient with her insistence to find achievement. The only time she might snap at another is due to her impatience and a need to succeed faster and faster each time. She has great potential when it comes to completing the tasks, she sets herself to achieve, but her desire to do grand things can hold her back, as tasks that require waiting make her particularly frustrated.History
Father: Flashfang (me)
Mother: Sturgeonstone
Siblings: Rosebriar (wolfie) & Riverheart
Lilackit was hardly be a lonely kitten, surrounded by a great number of family members of all ages and interests. With a loyal, StarClan fearing Sturgeonstone as her mother, and the powerful but charming Flashfang as her father, her future has already been destined for success. While she shields herself from the world in her first few moons behind her mother's pelt, she will one day emerge as the spring flower she is and fulfill her great purpose (or at least that's what her mother tells her.) Despite persistent nightmares and night terrors, she is stubborn in her desire to exist and will continue to do so despite the state of Leafbare in which she was born.
Lilackit never appeared to have all of the lights on in her head. More often than not, sleepless nights left her woozy and distant, murmurs of StarClan and mysterious dreams never leaving her tongue. Her kithood was filled with coddling, her mother desperate to suppress Lilackit's terrifying dreams. Yet, for some reason they persisted, intent to cause her fear.
Lilacpaw was named an apprentice at six moons and was assigned to Falconfire as a mentor. The tom was notorious for his skills on the battlefield and his intense passion for LichenClan's betterment. Immediately, he and his apprentice clashed. Sleeplessness left her unable to focus during training, and she spent a great deal of time offloading her duties onto her friends and distracting herself with learning and study of more interesting matters.
Simultaneously at this time, Lilacpaw was told that she was to be betrothed to Copperpaw, a promising young tom near her age. The pair were an awkward pair, both too young to truly understand what their parents wanted of them. Before anything beyond awkward companions could come to fruition, StarClan began to call Lilacpaw to change paths.
Briarfall, the clan's medicine cat, began to receive visions of wilting lilacs in her dreams. Upon consulting with StarClan, it was determined that Lilacpaw was destined to be her first apprentice. Lilacpaw was eager to begin learning herbs and healing, a topic that had always interested her far more than the physical pursuits Falconfire attempted to teach her. The pair began their training, and, not many moons after joining her new vocation, war struck.
LichenClan was attacked from the inside, secret rebels fighting against the regime led under Minnowstar. The war brought outsiders, RedwoodClan, ThistleClan, LichenClan loyalists and rebels, and mysterious felines from the lagoon together in a great battle. When the blood had spilled and the tides had turned, Minnowstar was dead, and Yarrowstar, a cat unfamiliar to Lilacpaw, took his role as leader.
After the battle, Lilacpaw continued much as she always had, following in Briarfall's footsteps as best she could no matter how tiny her feet were. She is determined to gain as much knowledge as she can and to strengthen her ties to StarClan, so much so that she will one day be free of the nightmares that still plague her.
After facing a blizzard and a flood, Lilacpaw learned a great deal from Briarfall about herbs, but always found that it seemed as though her mentor did know enough about StarClan to truly inform her about them. Briarfall avoided questions and dodged around topics of conversation, much to Lilacpaw's growing annoyance. She searched elsewhere for answers, finding them in the elders den and among the older, wiser queens.
It was when LichenClan was displaced and in the birch forest that Lilacpaw finally was summoned into what remained of the moon pool to learn. StarClan visited her in the form of Coyotecall, a handsome tom that spoke wisely. He told her about StarClan's destiny for her, and how Briarfall had fallen as their faithful. Suddenly, it made sense why Briarfall would not perform the traditional ceremonies of LichenClan past and was afraid of the moon pool. Her mentor had been tainted by the dark forest.
Lilacpaw slowly grew more and more angry with her mentor, a mixture of knowing Briarfall's failings in combination with her mentor not allowing her to inform the leader bringing a great deal of resentment to their relationship that culminated with her abandoning a half-moon to speak to Coyotecall at a gathering. She delivered his messages dutifully, once to Orchidshade, and then to Briarfall, and then to Shadepool.
One after the next, they all went missing. Only in Briarfall's disappearance did Lilacpaw understand the truth. her mentor had broken the medicine cat code and become pregnant with a RedwoodClan warrior. Under the threat of her secret being revealed, Lilacpaw convinced Briarfall to abandon her clan. She communed with Coyotecall, who finally named her the sole medicine cat of LichenClan. She was named Lilacmist, for she would clear the fog of doubt and uncertainty that troubles the land, and usher in a new era of salvation.
And yet, despite all she had done to put herself in a place where Yarrowstar could hear her, the ancient leader still spurned her, turning her away and forbidding her a seat at his council. Silently, Lilacmist vowed that, if he continued to ignore her, she would do to him the same that she did to Briarfall.
