kitestorm
thistleclan
small long-haired black and white she-cat
warrior
she-cat
13 moons
Appearance
Kitestorm is built on the smaller side. She stands shorter than your average ThistleClan she-cat. Her pelt hides a lean, muscular physique of a she-cat in her prime moons.
She has a long-haired coat. It is a shiny black that can look somewhat brown in the direct sunlight. A skinny white triangle with a fat bottom runs down between her eyes and colors the top part of her muzzle, while her chin is that same black. White continues down her chest and both front paws are mitted white; her back toes, too.
Her nose is black and contrasts with the white of her muzzle, accented by pink corners. She has long, white whiskers. Kitestorm has green eyes that have a yellow tint from some angles.

Personality
observant -- Kitestorm rarely misses a beat. She pays attention to things most cats ignore. She caught that weird glance between you and your friend. She picked up on a subtle shift in your relationship with your mom. She noticed her leader’s brand new tension at a gathering. It’s hard to slip something by her or dupe her. Kitestorm’s eyes see a lot and she recalls details others may have long forgotten.
meddling -- Kitestorm has never and will never mind her own business. It isn’t enough to just spread juicy gossip around and talk about it over and over (but she does that, too.) If she hears about it, she’s gotta be involved. Extremely personal conflict? Too bad Kitestorm witnessed it or it reached her on the breeze. Now she’s trying to solve your dysfunctional drama and play mediator. You’ve got a crush? Don’t worry, she’s your totally-inexperienced-in-love wingwoman. At the very least, she’s pestering you for more details until you snap and tell her to screw off and stay in her lane.
gullible -- Kitestorm is easily swept up in what’s going on around her. She camouflages herself in current Clan politics and attitudes. If ThistleClan’s leadership is hostile, she’s got her hackles up. If ThistleClan plays nice, she’s an angel. She’s a common victim of peer pressure, too, and caves to the status quo. She wants to be cool, she wants to fit in, and she’s okay sacrificing a bit of herself to slide in there.
dishonest -- Kitestorm has a penchant for telling white lies. Nothing huge, nothing insane, nothing too consequential. Just little white lies that make her look better or get her out of a spot of trouble. She thinks of them on the fly and obviously, they won’t always hold water. She backtracks quick if you call her out on one and her tongue stays honest for a hot minute after getting caught, but she ends up back stretching the truth next time she’s telling an otherwise uninteresting story. This has many of her clanmates side-eyeing half the words that come out of her mouth.
hotheaded/explosive -- Kitestorm’s temper runs greenleaf-sun hot. She is extremely quick to grow frustrated over everyday inconveniences, like missing a piece of prey or getting drizzled on during a patrol. Small issues put her in a foul mood and then she explodes out of seemingly nowhere hours later. It’s a lot of swearing, stomping her feet and raised fur along the spine. When she’s mad at someone, she goes for the throat and has said some pretty hurtful things she regrets.
self aware/self conscious -- Kitestorm is keenly aware of her greatest flaws, her temper and her lying. She won't deny them if they're brought up and she won't blame anybody for judging her over them. Kitestorm is very conscious of how others perceive her and holds their opinions in high regard. She wants to improve her image and work on her less desirable traits.
History
Kitekit and her sister, Goosekit, were born to Featherfox and absent father Starlingstep. Starlingstep had disappeared from ThistleClan before his daughters’ birth, any reasons why remaining a mystery to Kitekit and her sister. Kitekit’s relationship with self-obsessed queen Featherfox started with nursing and ended with her first piece of prey. She never went without love or playmates, between her sister and a large extended family occupying the nursery with her; she just wasn’t close to her mom and dad wasn’t around. ThistleClan’s crowded nursery made a she-cat that needs a busy social life.
Kitekit wasn’t blind to the judgmental eyes that followed her, her sister and her mom around when they ventured out into camp. She just didn’t know why they looked at her like that or why it made her skin prickle. Maybe these early assumptions made about her and her small family contributed to her hyperawareness of her reputation and what everybody thinks of her.
Kitepaw remembered her apprentice ceremony coming in the wake of the holy war’s end and Minnowstar’s dethronement and death. Her early training days were muddy with politics and uncertainty, all leadership and warriors around her holding their breath as to what came next.
Kitepaw threw herself headfirst into her training as moons passed. She showed early promise in battle training, but was held back by her whisker-trigger temper going off if she lost sparring sessions or couldn’t master a move demonstrated by her mentor. This made her an undesirable training partner for her fellow apprentices and she was lonely fighting with just her mentor. Her hunting skills needed work and patience, something she was luckily awarded; she ended up hunting down ground prey best, yet she wasn’t reaching the hall of fame anytime soon.
Kitepaw reveled in the freedom and opportunities apprenticeship brought. She spent her free time socializing with young and old alike. Kitepaw realized fast she made friends quicker and they stuck around longer if her stories were that bit funnier or more dramatic, leading to a tendency to exaggerate that ended up in full on embellishments. She often took her friends up on stupid dares to make herself look cool. Consequences ended in shouting matches with her mom, mentor or the deputy or bold-faced lies that might or might not have paid off.
Her relationship with her sister was a rollercoaster. One minute, they were seen happily catching up on the latest and the next, they were yelling over each other and name-calling. They wouldn’t let a soul badmouth the other, though, and defended each other from any rumors.
She was an apprentice when a blizzard blanketed ThistleClan’s territory in heavy snow and ice. Kitepaw struggled with the rest of her Clan in finding prey and staying warm in the coniferous forest. Kitepaw had a strong respect for nature and the destruction it could cause; this was driven in further when a flood chased ThistleClan from the shadows and they took shelter in RedwoodClan territory.
Her warrior ceremony was given among the Bear Stones. Named Kitestorm for her wrath, she was given a constant reminder to mind her anger and keep from freaking out over life’s tiny trip-ups.
