Hollowheart woke up as he was after being looked at by Bouncefire; now slightly less of a bloody mess. He rose up befuddled, staring at the somber tone camp held as snow fell. His body reminded him he was sore and needed rest even as he staggered to manage to stand under the mouth of the warrior's den. Only when he saw her slender visage slip out of camp did Hollowheart realize he longed to speak to her.
As he trotted barely outside of camp to follow her, his muscles were already tired. His warm breath was in a slight pant that could be seen fading into the cold atmosphere. Bouncefire had told him to rest for a reason, and he ignored it. I miss our conversations. A part of him yearned despite the carnage and events he experienced just the other day.
Eventually he came to find Icesong by the border where his bewilderment as to why she chose to stop reached a summit. He wondered how she was doing, but guessed she was doing some variation of passably due to never being one to show weakness. Hollowheart understood he was probably the last thing on her mind in the aftermath with all of her responsibilities. But it didn’t stop him from approaching the elegant she-cat, who seemed to acknowledge him with the usual glance.
The silver warrior sat next to her, and for a moment his form was stoic, as if he was content. Then he remembered that there was little to be content about in the grand scheme of things regarding his situation. And in an instant of that realization, Hollowheart lowered slightly to plant his cheek into her shoulder affectionately. She was soft and warm to lean into and helped his aches. “Did you have fun?” He asked quietly, with only half of his mouth opening and the other half pressed into her.
