Standing at 8.75”, a quarter inch taller than her mother, Streamwhisker is around the average height for a ThistleClanner. Not too small, not too tall, she doesn’t really stick out in her clan. However, compared to rest of RedwoodClan she’d quite short.
Not only does she stick out in RedwoodClan due to her size, she also stands out due to her build. She’s built like the average ThistleClanner as well. With a hardy build that’s good for the harsh, rough fighting style of her birth clan, and strong shoulders good for digging, it’s quite easy to tell that she has ThistleClan blood running through her veins.
With a brown spotted tabby coat, Streamwhisker blends in quite well with her surroundings, especially during leaf-fall, when all the leaves are brown. Her coat is short, but not extremely so. It’s thick enough to push out a good amount of the cold that seeps in during leaf-bare, and it’s also thick enough to protect her skin from things like thorns and sticks when she stalks in the undergrowth. This thickness also leads to her coat being extremely soft and plush with an almost velvet quality, making her quite comfortable to lie on.
While her pelt is good for blending in, it’s not perfect. Her belly and muzzle are both completely white. A white dash sits on her chest, and a white blaze reaches from where her white muzzle turns to brown to her forehead. Like her mother, her front paws are white, while her back legs are white up to her heel. Because of this, she’s gotten quite comfortable with mud, as she uses this to help disguise her white spots like most of ThistleClan does.
Her pelt doesn’t get as messy as it did when she was a kit, she still isn’t the most well groomed cat out there. Especially after hunting, when she’s got mud all over her. It’s not unusual to see her fur sticking out in multiple directions, however she does take better care of it now, compared to when she was a kit.
Streamwhisker’s eyes are large and round, a perfect copy of her mother’s in shape. Her eye color, too, is very similar to Cinderfeather’s eye color, a brilliant green only a few shades darker than her mom’s. It’s to the point that it’s only really noticeable when they stand side by side.
Another point of similarity between her and her mother, is her face. Their facial structure is extremely similar, with a short, stocky muzzle and fairly average sized ears. However, unlike her mother, her nose is almost an upside down shape. Her face is also where where gets one of her most obvious traits from her father as well. Her face is round and unassuming, with a touch of fat.
Like other ThistleClanner’s, her paws are large and wide, great for digging, though she was never really able to do much digging, as, by the time the ground had thawed, the flood hit, turning the ground to mush and forcing ThistleClan to abandon their camp. However, she has quickly discovered that her large, wide paws are good for another thing- tree climbing.
White currently scar free, Streamwhisker does have a small bald patch on her tail from the blizzard that took her entire family away from her. It’s where she had gotten frostbite, and while the tail made a full recovery, her fur never recovered fully, leaving a patch the width of a claw on her tail.

Personality
+ Optimistic- Despite all she’s gone through and how bitter towards her family she has become, Streamwhisker has kept her streak of optimism throughout it all. Always believing that somehow, someway things would get better. She no longer believes it may happen overnight, and she’s well aware that not everything will get better to the point of being good again, but she still keeps her head up. Because after every storm comes the sun. Though, sometimes, you have to get yourself out of the rain in order to see it.
+ Resilient- Despite not even being two seasons old, Streamwhisker has gone through a lot and it shows. No longer the soft cat she once was, she has been forced to harden herself. To ignore the heated insults that less friendly RedwoodClanner’s throw at her and the betrayed looks she gets from ThistleClan, she’s had to force herself to grow apathetic. To keep getting back up and to keep going. No matter how heavy the blow, she’ll get back up, even if the only cat who believes in her is herself.
+ Determined- With everything Streamwhisker has gone through, she has never once lost her unwavering determination. She no longer cares about proving that she can do everything a hearing warrior can, instead, she now focuses one proving herself to be loyal to RedwoodClan, and making sure she is happy. Her determination is specific. Focused. She’ll accomplish what she wants to do, not what others want her to do.
+ Self-sufficient- After being unable to speak to most her clan, and after she was forced to be the only kit in her litter in ThistleClan, Streamwhisker has become incredibly self-sufficient. She taught herself how to lip read so that she could be able to understand others without them signing. She taught herself how to speak a select few phrases. She’s fine sleeping on her own and gathering her own prey, although she still prefers to be with others, enjoying the company.
- Tired- At less than two seasons old, Streamwhisker has already given as much of herself to relationships as she can. From fighting tooth and claw to salvage the crumbling relationship she had with her father, to trying to keep her mother from self destructing, she’s just tired when it comes to fighting for relationships. Don’t get her wrong, she wants to have more relationships, but she just doesn’t have the ability to fight for them anymore. Either they work, or they don’t.
- Bitter- After finally escaping the toxicity of her family, Streamwhisker has become increasingly bitter about them. Not only that, but she’s just become bitter about her past in general. After becoming aware of how toxic that family is, there’s no care left to her parents and sister. A resentment towards ThistleClan has built, as she, wrongly, puts some of the blame on them, as the clan never really stepped in to try to help her situation. It doesn’t matter that it wasn’t the job of the clan to do that, not to her.
- Stubborn- There’s very little that will sway Streamwhisker once she gets an idea in her head. She will often refuse to budge on her ideas, tired of not being heard by others or stepped on. She refuses to let anyone dissuade her from her ideas- not anymore. It’s something that comes in handy when cats don’t believe in her. Because she’ll make them believe in her.
- Defensive- No stranger in cats looking down on her for one reason or another, Streamwhisker is tired of keeping quiet about it. She has become defensive of herself and others, being more than willing to snap back when necessary. She’ll explain why you’re wrong and will do it immediately.
History
The second born of Cinderfeather’s second litter, Streamkit was born at a tumultuous time. With Stagstar less than a season into his leadership and with her mother still broken-hearted over her breakup with Blazingstorm (wish), Streamkit will immediately be thrown into the middle of a chaotic time.
Seemingly born to both Cinderfeather and Thunderfoot (Aria), Streamkit’s kithood was seemingly perfect. She spent her days with her littermates, Snailkit (captain), Slushkit (Aria) and Sandykit (adoptable), her “half-sister” Lightningflash, and her half-brother Fernfeather (rain). Her other half-sister, Foxclaw (maxx) never really interacted, despite Streamkit’s desire to interact with her older sister.
Despite being born during the the height of the war with LichenClan and Lily’s Gang, Streamkit’s kithood was actually quite peaceful. Though, this could very well be due to the fact that, most of her kithood involved being fretted over due to her deafness and being taught pawspeak. She never really got a chance to understand what all was going on outside of camp.
Two moons after Minnowstar’s death and the end of the war, she was apprenticed to Turtledove (captain). Despite the language barrier between the two, the pair quickly get to training.
One day, after sneaking out of camp on her own, Streampaw ends up at the sandy creek. And that’s where she ends up meeting a deaf RedwoodClanner named Coldpaw (lightning).
The pair hit it off immediately, quickly becoming good friends, despite Coldpaw not knowing much paw-speak. For the first time in her life, Streampaw feels her heart skip a beat. She doesn’t understand what it means, but she knows that she genuinely enjoys spending as much time as possible with her friend, and suddenly, she has someone else to worry about.
So, when a moon later, a massive blizzard hits the clans, Streampaw starts to fear for her friend. This leads to her making a decision that would change her life for good. She sneaks out of camp to go try to find Coldpaw to make sure she is safe. This leads to Snailpaw following her, who is then followed by Slushpaw, Sandypaw, and Lightningflash.
She ends up finding Coldpaw, and the pair hide out in the tunnels, staying safe and playing mossball until Coldpaw’s mother, Icesong (captain) finds them. Unfortunately, not who came to look for her ended up safe.
While Snailpaw and Slushpaw were both taken back to camp safely, Lightningflash froze to death in the snow, and Sandypaw went missing, presumably succumbing to the cold as well.
To say Streampaw is horrified is an understatement. For both her sister and half-sister to die looking for her… it’s nearly impossible for her to wrap her head around it. And, unfortunately, she’s not able to grieve for long.
Because a moon later, Fernfeather leaves to the tunnels, and Streampaw is left to try to pick up the pieces of her rapidly crumbling family.
That’s when Blazingstorm has his second litter, this one with Willowshine (@catalysta), and Cinderfeather snaps. Streampaw watches in horror as her mother and father’s relationship completely disintegrates over this. They begin to fight with each other, and eventually, Cinderfeather breaks up with Thunderfoot.
Streampaw’s family had officially broken, and she was left to cling to her littermates for support. She starts to learn how to lip read, but she’s not given much time to do so, because a moon after the breakup, she and her littermates are caught up in a flood, and, despite the efforts of Thunderfoot, she and her littermates are all swept away.
Separated by the current, Streampaw ends up being swept towards RedwoodClan, where Coldpaw and Forestflight (lightning) rescue her.
When she is returned to ThistleClan, Cinderfeather has completely broken down, and Thunderfoot refuses to talk to her. Worst of all, Snailpaw and Slushpaw are both missing and presumed dead, leaving Streampaw as, presumably, the only surviving member of her litter.
And Cinderfeather latches onto her with a vengeance.
For three moons, she is alone in ThistleClan’s new camp at Bearstones. Thunderfoot refuses to even look at her or Cinderfeather, and her mother swings between extreme depression and overbearing overprotection, leaving Streampaw basically alone. None of the other apprentices are willing to come near her due to her mother’s overbearing presence, leaving her friendless.
Slowly, a bitterness towards ThistleClan starts to form, and she finds herself drawn to the RedwoodClan border more and more. Turtledove starts spending more and more time with Sparkspirit (Silverfire), which gives her more time to wander near the border. She’s constantly on the lookout for Coldpaw, who is soon named Coldnose.
She keeps thinking about the how much she liked being in RedwoodClan’s camp. How much she dislikes ThistleClan camp.
It isn’t until Snailpaw returns that things start to change. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly for the better.
She learns that Slushpaw has left the clan, opting to stay with the rogues, and that gets the gears turning in her head. After two moons of trying and failing to get herself to find comfort in her clan, she tries one final time to talk to Thunderfoot, only to be told that he isn’t he father. In fact, her father isn’t even a clan cat. He’s a rogue.
With her world completely rocked, she starts thinking more and more of RedwoodClan, and eventually, she goes to visit her sister, learning that Slushpaw now goes by Sleek, and asking the question she had been about for two moons now.
Should she leave?
Talking to her sister, she realizes that yes. She should. There’s nothing left for her in ThistleClan. Nothing but toxicity. She learns her father is a tom named Honeybun (captain), and that Sleek knows him due to him being a part of Poppy’s rogues, but she’s told by Sleek that she can’t join the rogues.
And so, she makes the decision. Once she and Snailpaw gets their warrior names, she will leave. And, a few days after her discussion with Sleek, they do.
The next night, after their vigil, she goes to the newly named Snailtail, and says goodbye.
The next morning, she’s in RedwoodClan’s camp, pleading her case.
Due to the rising tensions between RedwoodClan and ThistleClan, she’s not fully accepted immediately, instead being taken in on a trial basis.
Currently, she’s still in that trial phase, though she knows that this is where she belongs. She’s happier here, away from all the toxicity of her family. And while she does miss Snailtail, she knows that she can never go back.
And she’s more than okay with that.
