character stature: ambersight is a big cat, standing a bit taller than their average clanmates, and this can be attributed to their genes. their muscles are lean and their legs are very long, but they have the proportional muscle volume to complement their stature and their tail length measures out to just longer than their height.

character pelt: ambersight's fur is a soft rusty brown hue that matches the wood of the forest their clan calls home. their fur is medium length and double coated, but lays sleek over their form, fluffed out around their chest and tail and very thick around their shoulders, giving their already impressive sillouette an arched, looming disposition. though tabby striping is evident from the facial markings, the markings blend ambiguously across their body, only showing distinct stripes around the lower limbs and in colors over the tail tip. they do not have any white markings, but their coat displays many shades of browns ranging from dark chocolate brown to reddish hues to light creamy brown countershading around the eyes, muzzle, cheeks, inner ears, neck, belly, inner limbs and tail underside. a few scars are visible around their fore and hindlimbs, while most of the other scars are hidden by their fur.

character face: ambersight has a broad head and big paws, but their muzzle is comparatively slim. their ears are large and tall and tufted at the tips, and their medium length fur gives their head an angular shape. their golden eyes are of a gentle saturation.

[+] gentle - ambersight is very concious of themselves around others and makes every effort to keep their presence modest and unintimidating to those they consider a friend or ally. they will stay their claws and endure most internal conflict directed at them, displaying a patient and controlled temper. they love kits and apprentices and instantly become mentorly around young cats, even if those cats are not their own apprentice or kits. yet while a gentle giant, soft of heart, they know when it is necessary to be firm with those around them who decide to push all of their buttons.

[+] loyal - ambersight enthusiastically lives up to the image of the model warrior as best as they can, honorable and loyal above all else. they uphold ideals of justice, support the clan, its future, and its leader's decisions - a trope that is often seen as ideal within clan structure, but a social failing from those who criticize clan life. similarly, pride can be a morally ambiguous trait. ambersight's own pride as a warrior of redwoodclan would fit the stereotype, and they are willing to speak in defense of their clan's honor and their clanmates' dignity at any given time. but perhaps it is in the way ambersight views their clan as a family dearest to them that their undying loyalty has roots.

[-] insecure - the way they are viewed in their clanmates' eyes is a point of social anxiety that plagues ambersight's psyche on a regular basis, not debilitatingly, but enough to where they consider others' opinions a bit more than the fellow clanmate actually cares to comment, much less remember. ambersight is aware of their own efforts to be a warrior of good character, but this backfires immediately into them worrying too much about being approved by their clanmates and leaders.

[-] self neglectful - in their futile quest to be seen as a good warrior in the perspective of their clanmates, ambersight overworks themself frequently, always trying to bring one more fresh kill back from a party, join one more patrol, and then entertain kits or take apprentices out for training practice on top of that. sleep deprivation is a constant, and they numb their emotions to their work. they can't seem to ever let go of the need to prove themselves in everything they do in clan life, and this has always extended to the battlefield where ambersight has allowed themselves many injuries and even close calls if it meant fighting for the sake of their clan. their regard for their own wellbeing is severely compromised in a trade off for their own insecurity about doing enough.

kithood: when ambersight was born, they were a tom and considered themselves so. they were full of energy and spent nearly all of their waking hours pestering their littermates and any nursery visitors to play with them until they were finally apprenticed at 6 moons.

adolescence: as an apprentice, ambersight got up to more trouble than they would be unashamed to admit nowadays. sometimes they snacked on the prey they caught during a hunting patrol, crushed on another cat and got rejected, or got into a few too many arguments with their fellow apprentices that ended in a few blows given and taken. they were scolded many times for getting into petty fights about whether they would be a good warrior at the end of their apprenticeship. yet after such a turmultous youth, the tail end of ambersight's apprenticeship was when they began to dramatically mellow out. they told their surprised mentor that they were not a tom, but a she-cat, and were met with mostly acceptance. after the notice made rounds through the clan of ambersight's gender identity, they suddenly began working at their apprenticeship with blossomed vigor, and quickly met the goal of passing their warrior assessment.

adulthood: throughout ambersight's life as a nonbinary transfemme warrior, they never stopped working hard to serve their clan and fit into the model of an honorable warrior. they always voiced their support of the warrior code and the clan as a whole. they would throw themselves into the heat of battle without a moment of hesitation, eager to fight for their clan, and most of all eager to prove themself in everything they do. the war between redwoodclan and lichenclan provided just that opportunity in which they showcased their fearless warrior's spirit which they became reputed most for by their clanmates. in ambersight's eyes, the actions of lichenclan were unjustified for the standard which they considered ideal: peace and respect between all of the clans, and they fought ferociously to defeat what they perceived as selfishness. when redwoodclan helped the tribe during its time of need, ambersight felt immense pride for her clan. now after enduring the worst leafbare of her life, losing several of her own kin to the illness that struck redwoodclan, ambersight finds the threat of lichenclan's advances on their territory a bigger offense than ever, and is eager to teach them a lesson every chance she gets. the endless war frustrates her and she wonders if there's something going on with lichenclan's leadership to make them so eternally aggressive.
