Heronkit
Lichen Clan
Long Furred Solid Blue Tom with Green Eyes
KIT
TOM
1 MOON
Appearance
Upon approach, Heron’s appearance holds only faint hints of ideal masculinity. The solid blue tom is light and small compared to his siblings, a favor in speed rather than strength. Long wisps of fur have started to grow off his slender body forcing him to groom it regularly. He hates mats or tangles in his fur so it is rare to see him in such a disheveled state. He has an angular shape to his features, especially his long muzzled face where two bright, green eyes settle. When locked with, it feels like he’s silently judging a feline and weighing their worth.

Personality
These are the most dominant traits in his personality, each with a positive and negative side to them. Based on his story, what side he leans to will depend on the moment and events that happen.
+/- Compassion/Vengeance: For those who earn his compassion and show him no ill will, Heron will value their company. He’ll grow emotionally attached and desire their happiness as long as it doesn’t conflict with his goals. They are the first to come to his mind whenever he is about to make a decision or follow on a goal. It also means jealousy is likely to follow him whenever he feels his position in their life is being threatened.
Any injury to him or those he cares for will often be taken personally and that cat will reap the consequences. His obsession to take revenge will seize him and push Heron to target the things most dear to the cat. Be it family or reputation, it won’t matter to him. He will prove he’s not a cat to cross in the end.
-/+ Obsessive/Determination: When Heron sets his eyes on a goal, it is never forgotten. It becomes a bright light in his mind and drives him onward to pursue it until the end.
On the negative side of things, this trait will drive him to obsess over his end goals. Heron will develop an ends justify the means mentality often ignoring the moral and consequences of his actions toward those he cared for. The goal will always be at the back of his mind like a whip cracking him onward.
On the bright side when this trait is nurtured right, he will often consider how to obtain the goal in the best positive way. His focus will widen from just him and to those he values or wants to protect. He will refuse to give up and patiently wait for the right time to move forward, focusing on those around him a bit more.
-/+ Fragile Trust/Loyalty: Growing up in a competitive family, it’s hard to trust who’s being honest or not. With a cat that breaks it, they will find him distant and cold. His wariness to their untrustworthiness will reflect in the favors and decisions he makes, often second guessing the truth of their words privately. It will take many moons to earn it back… if they can.
On the positive side, for those who keep his trust they will find he’s a very loyal cat. Whenever his unneeded actions could cause them harm, he will alter his plans or adapt whenever needed to avoid it. In times of conflict, these cats will often find him on their side and ready to stand firmly in their corner whenever possible.

History
Heronkit remembered the first sensation that greeted him when he was expelled into the world. Wet warmth followed by the chill of the air and the chorus of his siblings, all greedy for food or heat. With his eyes sealed shut, the helpless tom mewed among his littermates before being nudged against the warm underbelly of their mother. Milk reached his lips before he sucked down whatever he could.
Sleep became the primary duty of his life within the first few days, followed by eating. The rest laid in their mother’s paws to ensure he was cleaned and healthy like the rest of his siblings. For him, they were merely wiggling hot masses that stole his milk and mother's attention. Not a fair exchange, but he was too young to know better.
By the first week of his life, Heronkit’s awareness stretched out beyond the dark recesses of his mind. His eyes caught color and blurry blobs in his vision. Gradually those sharpened into distinct shapes, identifying his siblings one by one. From underneath him, his paws began to push and move about in hobbled steps. Sounds start to distract him by the end of the second week. The weeks grew into a moon as he learned his siblings are a great source of play. The first one he pounced upon was Pikekit, the little tom swiftly returned the bats. For now, his days were spent among his siblings and mother learning about the Lichen clan’s greatness.
