male (he/him)

Appearance
Dewpaw's size is fitting for RedwoodClan, but is also not particularly unnatural in the tribe among stoneguards. While he was scrawny and long as a kitten, he quickly grew. The tom is large and muscular, all of which is only accentuated by his long fur. His fur is extremely soft and not quite as long as that of most long-furred cats. However, it is just enough to make him identifiable as a RedwoodClan cat, or at least it would give the illusion of such.
The tom sports soft blue fur, marked with broken tabby stripes. He also has a white chest and paws. His muzzle is also white, as is a stripe leading up his nose to his ears. The standard M tabby marking dons his crown, though it is somewhat lighter than darker colored tabbies. Instead, his stripes are only a touch darker than his base coat color, so at times his stripes can be hard to detect.
With wide green eyes, the tom has a look of innocence on his face most of the time. He has a youthful appearance that he will carry into his adulthood. His nose and paw pads are a soft pink, and he has soft white outlining around his eyes. His whiskers are long and stark white. The tom has a rounded head which is further shown through his tufted fur. His large ears are tipped with fur like a squirrel's.

Personality
~ quite & soft ~
The easiest way to describe Dewpaw is quiet. The tom rarely speaks and takes up little space. It can be easy to forget he exists when in large groups because he will rarely include himself, and is more content to watch and nod along to someone else's talking. He is a good listener and likes to learn, but even when he is supposed to speak he does so quietly and gently.+ calm & cowardly -
Some quiet cats are anxious and filled with nervous energy, but Dewpaw seems to be filled with a delightful calm most of the time. He is gentle and caring and is generally an agreeable cat. He rarely makes the effort to disagree with someone, and he verbalizes his disagreement even less frequently. This can lead him to be quite a pushover, and he is more likely to just do what is asked of him rather than arguing. He can appear to be somewhat aimless because he simply goes along with whatever others tell him to do. He's obedient but to a fault.+ genuine & gullible -
When the tom does talk, he is very genuine with his words. He isn't the type to lie, though he doesn't see it as a moral fault to do so. Instead, life appears to be easier when he and others tell the truth. He takes everyone at face value, and rarely questions if they are telling him the truth or not. Because of this, he is quite naive and can be fooled easily.+ kind & doubtful -
Whenever possible, Dewpaw lives his life trying to be kind. He wants to help others whenever he can, and does his best to be compassionate. Whenever something gets in his way, however, he can become easily discouraged. The cruelty of others brings him great distress, and if he thinks too hard about how others intentionally hurt people he can become depressed and idle. History
Birth Mother: Russetwing (f)
Mentor: Ravenfeather (raven)
Littermates: Embersky (arialy) and Seraphine (owl)
Dewpaw remembers very little of his time before arriving at RedwoodClan. He knows that he was born as an outsider, probably to a rogue or loner. However, he knows very little of his origins, and all he can remember of that time was the faint smell of a family he will never know. The tom was raised primarily by a queen who had lost a few of her kits but had plenty of milk to share. He does not blame his rogue or loner mother for leaving him and his sister at the border. After all, it was a particularly cold and brutal leafbare, and he can only assume that she was trying to keep him alive. He has accepted that she likely does not want to find him again, and has no intentions to seek her out.
One of the only things he knows is that his sister was left with him. Emberkit had all of the personalities that he lacked, and the two were opposites in many ways. Despite this, she always made room for him, and he never felt excluded. For this, he loves her very dearly and finds her to be the most important individual in his life. After all, she is his only blood relative that he will ever know. Of course, he will always be grateful to his adopted mother and father, but he knows in his heart that they are caring for him partly because it was forced upon them due to the circumstance. This led to him sometimes feeling like a burden on them and on the clan, so he's always tried to take up as little space as possible and not complain. Even as a kit, he would do everything he could to be useful, and he is excited to become an apprentice so he can do even more for the clan that took him in.
Little does he know, he is actually fully a RedwoodClan cat by blood. His mother was a she-cat named Russetwing. When she discovered her mate had been cheating on her, she fled from her clan despite being very pregnant at the time. Whenever she had kits, she feared that they would not survive the harsh leafbare, so she left the kittens at the RedwoodClan border because she knew that they would be cared for there. However, she kept one of her kits, which she named Seraphine. Dewpaw won't be running off to search for his long-lost mother or the sister he never knew, but one day, deep down in his heart, he longs to know the family he has never gotten to know.
Dewpaw was mentored by a powerful and reputable warrior, Ravenfeather. The tom had recently suffered great hardship immediately before Dewpaw’s assignment, losing his mate to illness and his kits, only a few moons older than his new apprentice, becoming distant. During his apprenticeship, Dewpaw found Ravenfeather growing more and more into a father figure. However, such a feeling was challenging to express, especially when his mentor had such struggles with his own family.
When he was young in his apprenticeship, the tribe sent a party of felines to speak to Finchstar about a potential vision they had seen. One of the individuals at the party was Song, a young she-cat that quickly befriended shy Dewpaw. The pair spent a great deal of time discussing religion and the peaceful life of tribe cats. Even after the tribe left the island, Dewpaw found himself yearning to talk and share tongues with Song once again.
Dewcloud was named a warrior alongside his sister, Embersky, at 12 moons old. The pair, now distant due to vastly different feelings regarding the war, grew to find themselves in entirely different circles. Dewcloud was no fighter and hated the war, avoiding the fray when he could. It was only when a fox attacked that he proved himself capable, though he will forever hold himself partially to blame for the death of a patrol mate, Firepelt.
The war continued to rage, and Dewcloud found himself more and more drawn away from RedwoodClan. He grew isolated, only seen in brief meetings near the edge of the territory or looking longingly at the tribe island far away.
With an alliance forged between RedwoodClan, ThistleClan, and the rebellion within LichenClan, all prepared for a final strike to end Minnowstar and stop the war. Dewcloud, for the first time, was called to enter the fray. He remained on the edges as requested, surging forward as back up to defend and protect his clan. However, despite originally looking for clanmates to save, he instead found a young LichenClan apprentice desperately clinging to life. Dewcloud saved him, bringing the cat to a medicine cat.
Even at this moment, Dewcloud was reminded that all were harmed during battle, and he solidified his dream of living in a world where he would never fear being asked to send his claws into another feline. It was another dream that called him to action more than any other. He met Blackbird and the Tribe of Endless life, who beckoned him to aid Fog in returning to the tribe lands. Dewcloud knew that this was his sole chance to find a life where he could belong. When Fog escaped ThistleClan to live at RedwoodClan's camp, Dewcloud was almost too excited to speak to him. Slowly, the two spent time together until Dewcloud confessed his dream.
Understanding the importance of dreams and omens and recognizing Blackbird in Dewcloud's description, Fog agreed to take him to the tribe. The water parted after the flood waters receded, leaving the sandbar crossable once again. Fog, Dewcloud, and a washed away tribemate named Cardinal walked back to what Dewcloud hoped would one day be fit to call his home.
Upon returning, there was a great argument that broke out. A strange tom who had declared himself leader of the tribe challenged Fog and his return, which Fog requested be met with equality and a vote from the tribe. A fight broke out, and in the end, Sunrise, a cat Dewcloud remembered from when the tribe had once visited RedwoodClan many moons ago, ended the strange faux teller's life. Dewcloud suddenly knew by the reaction of the crowd that he and Sunrise shared one thing that the rest did not - they had tasted the blood of a cat before, warm and straight from the flesh.
Slowly, Dewcloud began to integrate into the tribe. He trained as both a preyhunter and a stoneguard, eventually finding the later a better fit for his strength and knowledge. He is eager to see what comes next, and especially what the future holds between him and Song, given the spark that seems to ignite each time they spoke since his return.
