Silverpaw
Redwood Clan
Silver and black she-cat with amber eyes
Apprentice
Female
7 moons
Appearance
Character Stature: Feminine but not petite, Silverpaw is a well muscled cat typical of her clan. Her shoulders and haunches in particular are defined as she uses them to climb the big redwoods within her territory. With some chagrin, it must be said that she is still very young and there is a babyish quality about her frame that belies her age. She is not soft but she is not yet completely the sturdy cat that she will come to be.
Character Pelt: Long coated, especially in the winter months, Silverpaw is aptly named as she is wrapped in a bright sterling from head to toe. Her coat shines in the moonlight and is accented strikingly with black stripes and swirls along her body, legs and a classic "M" upon her head. The color does not stand out enough to make her a poor hunter, nor is it easily missed among her clanmates. Though her fur is thick - and growing longer the older she gets - Silverpaw does her best to thin it with aggressive grooming and deliberately rubbing against harsh surfaces. This does work to some small degree but Silverpaw is still fluffier than she would prefer.
Character Face: Silverpaw possesses a thick, well jawed but feminine face. Her snout comes to a neat point but cannot be mistaken for delicate. Her whiskers are long and defined, her ears a bit larger and more pronounced than some. Her eyes are a molten amber, often filled with some hot, restless emotion.

Personality
Two Positive Traits: Determination is Silverpaw's middle name. Once she sets her mind to a task or a belief, there is no amount of pain, complications or logic that will dissuade her. She is an excellent choice if looking for a cat to get it done, regardless of the obstacles. Her determination also makes her highly reliable and despite her somewhat chaotic energy, she can be counted on once her paws have been set upon a path. Trustworthy is another of her shinning traits. Her boundless curiosity motivates her to know all she can about someone but she can be trusted with even the worst parts of a cat. Part of her own personal code, Silverpaw could learn the most embarrassing, devastating truth about her worst enemy and would never repeat what she knew. Even under pain or punishment, Silverpaw can be trusted to keep a secret.
Two Negative Traits: Single-mindedness is a strong, irritating trait in Silverpaw. Rarely does she think outside of herself or her goals. Regardless of those she may hurt or make uncomfortable, she is headed blindly for her own accomplishments. It is less a selfish drive and more so that she simply does not consider anything but the task. As well as possessing a strong one track mind, she is also self-destructive. Her interest in self preservation is minuscule at best and while some may call her fearless, she is more oblivious and unconcerned than anything so noble. Pain is not a deterrent and she will try the same damaging thing more than once if she's convinced it's the way to reach her goal.

History
Kithood: Silverpaw was born alongside a tom. The two siblings were healthy, happy kits from the moment of their births. Their mother was ecstatic with her children, though their father was uninvolved. None of the small family cared much about his absence and the pair grew up rather normally. It was apparent as soon as they were old enough to walk that Silverpaw was the dominate force between the two. She would playfight her brother often and needed to be told off for being too rough more than a few times by her mother. The closer she got to her apprenticeship, Silverpaw would take to challenging the current apprentices and fought viciously when any of them relented and took her up on her taunts - though she seldom won.
Aware of the war through the gossiping queens, Silverpaw understood on a base level the concept of RedwoodClan's bitter rivalry toward LichenClan. Though she would still be moons away from her apprenticeship, the young cat took up the conflict and was exceptionally eager to join in the fray. After all, it sounded like more fighting and she was a keen combatant. The queens also whispered, in a much more hushed way, of the cowardice of their leader - Finchstar. Not so easily led, about this Silverpaw disagreed. How could a leader be anything but great - how else did they get their title? She was deaf to this aspect of gossip over the war, which made no sense to her, and focused herself entirely to the idea of battle.
Adolescence: When the time finally came, Silverpaw was beside herself and, in her mind, rewarded handsomely for her efforts as a kit. Apprenticed to Finchstar, Silverpaw was beyond thrilled to fall under the direct training of the clan leader - despite what she had heard whispered in the nursery. The sickness that had swept the clan had not affected Silverpaw and, callously, no one she cared about, either. In true Silverpaw fashion, she was solely focused forward and as a new apprentice, her own world swallowed all of her attention and empathy. She mourned very little, if at all, for her fallen clanmates.
Silverpaw was aggressively determined and immediately set to work learning every aspect of the code and what was expected of her as a warrior...or at least, she paid great attention to the parts that interested her. Having only been related to and not involved in true clan life until her apprenticeship, Silverpaw was due for a rude awakening when her training with the great Finchstar finally began. TBC...
