sturgeonstone
Lichenclan
large, long-haired, blue smoke molly with amber eyes.
warrior
female
61 moons
Appearance
Sturgeonstone has always been insecure about her substantial size. She's the biggest in her litter and stands out like a sore paw in a clan full of slender and lithe felines. She certainly fits the name -stone, being broad and stocky. Her thick blue smoke fur only serves to make her appear larger than she is. However, Sturgeonstone's beauty is undeniable with the way her fearthery fur blows by the shore and how her vivid amber eyes contrast with the lake water. The massive molly has made sure to practice appearing as composed and elegant as possible to make up for all the space she takes. Sturgeonstone can't help but think that her once decent form has been marred by 3 gruesome scars along her right shoulder, flank, and her belly. And while most of the inflictions are covered by her long, dense fur, she finds the gash that crosses her shoulder sticks out like a sore thumb.

Personality
Composed: Sturgeonstone keeps all of her feelings and expressions under control. To be the perfect cat for StarClan, she has to keep a handle on any fear, sadness, anger, or even joy. As a result, Sturgeonstone can seem quite dry and monotone, but is also quite reliable due to the lack of strong feelings. It isn't rare for cats to subconciously come to her with their emotions as her composed level head is appreciated.
Strict: Sturgeonstone adheres firmly to both StarClan and the warrior code and demands those around her do the same. She has no patience for disrespect and rule breaking and is known to scold her clan-mates before even Minnowstar. Sturgeonstone is well aware of the consequences that come with going against the truths of life and aims to stop cats from facing the consequences before they can even get a chance to make a wrong decision. She isn't opposed to reporting a clan-mate if she believes it'll save them from harm later.
Compassionate: Sturgeonstone genuinely wants the best for others, even if her way of going about it doesn't read that way. She's against hurting those for no reason and is cordial to those deserving of her benevolence. This stretches past LichenClan borders. The cats in RedwoodClan and ThistleClan definitely live in sin, but how are they to overcome their sin without a gentle paw to guide them? Even if Sturgeonstone fights gallantly in battle, she often fights with claws sheathed and would much rather use her mass to demobilize a cat.
Superstitious: Sturgeonstone is immensely devout and has creduloulous reverance for StarClan. Everything she does is for her ancestors and she shapes herself perfectly for them. Sturgeonstone absolutely believes that StarClan comes first, even before her own feelings and even the warrior code. She has immense fear and paranoia of going against her ancestors and genuinely fears for the cats who don't understand the power of StarClan. Sturgeonstone's worst fear is going to dark forest and wouldn't even wish such a place upon the worst of RedwoodClan cats.
Obediant: Sturgeonstone doesn't hesitate in obeying authority, it's ingrained in her. To her, going against the cats chosen by StarClan is up there among the worst crimes. It's in the warrior code, so she see's no benefit in going against Minnowstar. Sturgeonstone looks down on those who go against authority and longs to help them. Sometimes the molly feels wrong following certain orders, but knows theres a much darker reality waiting for her if she doesn't go with StarClan's chosen.
Conservative: Sturgeonstone was named for her stubborness and aversion to change. She believes in the the 'outdated' ways that have sustained LichenClan til this day. She's one for tradition and will commit to StarClan and Minnowstar, fighting against even reasonable arguments against them. Sturgeonstone seeks security and the warrior code helps provide her just that. Change is another big fear for her, second to being doomed to the depths of dark forest.

History
0 - 6 Moons
Sturgeonkit is born first before her two sisters Cricketkit and Morelkit. Her parents are desperate to continue their withering family line, thus the kits lives are riddled with expectations from the get go. Strugeonkit is quick to iternalize her parents idealism and as the oldest of the three, finds herself making sure her siblings are meeting their parents wishes herself.
---
Sturgeonkit grew up with those superstitious stories stuck in her head. Her family full of cats who supported... her(Strugeonkit grows fearful of the name Egretfeather) and how they all dissappeared one by one. Her family was the only one left of them all, and Sturgeonkit quickly grew determined to make sure no one in her family would die like them. She stuck to the shadows, eagerly bowing her head to those in power and living solely based off of what the warrior code and StarClan provided.
---
Terrifed of her sisters losing their lives and being dammned to dark forest, Sturgeonkit grew extremely weary and protective of them. Sturgeonkit found herself closer to Cricketkit who matched her docility, but worried about Morelkit who seems keen on standing out. Sturgeonkit insists that all the sisters just do as their parents wish.
6 - 12 Moons
Sturgeonkit couldn't help but be weary of the concern on her parents face as she touched noses to her mentor. Now named Sturgeonpaw, the blue molly was determined to be a model LichenClan cat, but it was hard to do so when her mentor was anything but. The pale colored tom had only recieved his warrior name a season or two prior, and while he was of notable hunting skills, his devotion to StarClan or the code was questionable. Sturgeonpaw found herself making up for what she considered lacking behavior from her mentor. She is shunned from most peers as she takes on ridiculing their lives for lacking StarClan or discipline. Most cats don't appreciate a cat so clingy to the rules as she is.
---
Sturgeonpaw developes feelings for a fresh warrior who is known for his devotion to the code and Sagestar. Frostgaze is perfect as none of the other apprentices seem to be on the same level as her. Following him to the mooncave one day, the two quickly establish a friendship after praying together.
---
Strugeonpaw finds the rest of her apprenticeship uneventful, at leas when compared with her time talking of StarClan with Frostgaze. She doesn't bother going above or beyond what her mentor teaches her and is a mediocre warrior when her training finally concludes.
12 - 47 Moons
Sturgeonpaw is named Sturgeonstone for her unwavering adherence to the code and StarClan. At the mooncave, Sturgeonstone confesses for her families sins and promises that it will be her that makes sure their family overcomes their curse.
---
Soon after the sisters recieve their warrior names, their parents pull them to the side to reveal their true purposeses. As they explain that they are to give birth to the next generation of LichenClan, Sturgeonstone can't help the excitement she feels as she already has a cat in mind. She becomes mates with Frostgaze and the two immediately begin working at starting at family.
---
Except, its never that easy. The two try and try for moons but nothing ever comes from their constant efforts. It isn't until her siblings begin to have similar issues that their parents confirm that being barren runs in the family. Sturgeonstone is horrified by the revelation and worries that she might fail her clan by never starting a family. Sturgeonstone is constantly found praying around this time.
---
War plagues the LichenClan and Sturgonstone worries for Frostgaze who is assigned onto frequent battle patrols. Frostgaze is put in critical condition from one of the battles. He is renamed Frostthroat after an injury to his neck and retires to the elders den to due to breathing problems. Sturgeonstone's status is ripped from her here and Frostthroat knows it.
---
As Frostthroat wallows in the elders den in self doubt, he comes to resent the clan, the war, and StarClan for making him this way. Worried that Frostthroat may end up in Darkforest when he dies, Sturgeonstone does her best to convince her love to change his mind. Her worries fuel countless arguments that eventually lead to Sturgeonstone revealing his disloyalty to the entire clan. Frostthroat leaves much to Sturgeonstone's dismay, not being able to handle the constant criticism that plagues him after the revelation.
---
Sturgeonstone is horrified by the revelation she is preganat and doesn't know what to do about it. Her former mate is a traitor who renounced LichenClan and StarClan, but surely that doesn't have to affect her kits. Sturgeonstone settles with the idea of raising kits herself, that way there is no way they can be influenced in the wrong direction.
---
Frostthroat's body washes up at the shore and Sturgeonstone ignores it. She's horrified to see her former mate dead, and is petrified by the fact that he's probably in dark forest, but want him to taint her anymore than he already has.
---
Sturgeonstone gives birh to 2 kits, only one surviving to the next day. Brightkit is thin, extremely small, but is alive and Sturgeonstone is excited to finally be a mother. Brightkit struggles not only with health, but as he grows, sturggles with the opinions of those around him. Sturgeonstone does her best to instill the importance of StarClan in her kit so that he doesn't have to worry about a future full of hate.
---
Brightkit becomes Brightpaw, but becomes a snack before he can become a warrior. Despite her grief, Stugeonstone couldn't help but think that the death of her son was inevitable. She had always known that those against StarClan weren't meant to live long.
48 - 61 Moons
Sturgeonstone can't just let those that she care about go to dark forest like Frostthroat and Brightpaw. She's determined to make sure those in her clan are loyal, and now even finds herself worried for those in the other clans. She doesn't want them to go to dark forest and is willing to fight to help them. Sturgeonstone may not always agree with Minnowstar's violent rule, but she refuses to go against the cat chosen by StarClan to lead LichenClan.
---
Sturgeonstone still wants to fulfil her duty towards the clan and produce loyal LichenClan kits, but she won't do it with someone against the clan again. Next time, she will have the perfect family.
