Patchstrike is buff and is fairly imposing to look at, with a height of 11”.
While he doesn’t tower above everyone, he does stand taller than quite a few cats. He is very leggy. His paws are large as well.
His fur is short and coarse, and is usually dusty due to his scrappy nature.
His body is also fairly scarred up. In specific, he has a slash across his nose, a long scar that goes across his shoulders, a trio of claw marks that goes across his rump, and a bite mark on his front left leg.
Patchstrike bears an extremely strong resemblance to his son. Both have cream coats with seal points. That being said, there are definitely some differences. In particular, he has a darker cream coat than his son, along with darker points.
Patchstrike’s face is much softer than his body. His cheeks are quite fluffy actually. Like his son, he has triangular ears perched atop his head, though unlike his son, his are torn up due to countless moons of fighting.
He has a small, brown and pink mottled nose and a bulky muzzle.
He also has smaller, dark blue eyes.

Personality
+ Fatherly- Patchstrike is pretty much the poster child for “loving dad”. He would be wildling to be everyone’s father. He’ll be willing to be your father. He also tells all the dad jokes.
+ Principled- Patchstrike knows what he thinks is right and sticks to it. He will not deviate from what he believes in unless there are extenuating circumstances.
+ Intelligent- If there’s one thing that Patchstrike does, it’s plan. He always makes sure that he has a plan. And he will stick to it.
+ Persuasive- Patchstrike has an exceptional amount of charisma, and he knows how to use his words to get the outcome he desires.
- Stubborn- Patchstrike doesn’t change his mind. He’s as stubborn as a mule and once he decides on something, that’s it.
- Bitter- While not bitter about his life itself, he’s incredibly bitter about the way LichenClan is operating. It’s part of the reason he’s in the rebellion.
- Awkward- Patchstrike... doesn’t express feelings well. It’s what led to the massive fight between him and Boulderstrike.

History
Patchstrike’s life started like many other kits. He was raised in the nursery like all kits, taught the clan rules like all kits, and was never really taught about StarClan.
Maybe the last part wasn’t so normal for a LichenClanner.
Born to a chocolate tortoiseshell point she cat named Specklesong and a mink point tom named Eveningroot (river) Patchkit was the only survivor of his litter. His sister, Smudgekit, was born sickly and passed before Patchkit had even opened his eyes.
Due to this, his parents were very protective.
When he was about three moons old, the tom was first exposed to the baptism ceremony. To say he didn’t like it was an understatement.
Specklesong, with an unnaturally cold look, held him underneath the water for what felt like hours, but was actually less than a few heartbeats. Coming up, he found himself sputtering and coughing. While the clan seemed incredibly pleased, Patchkit looked over at Eveningroot, and found his father’s claws unsheathed. Looking back at his mom, he found hers were unsheathed as well.
Later that moon, the tom kit’s parents sat him down and told him everything.
“The clan... it’s changing,” Specklesong admitted. “It’s become harsher. More focused on StarClan and the Dark Forest.” She let out a heavy sigh as she ran her chocolate pointed tortie tail along his back.
“It’s the only thing that has been accepted since Heronstar, a leader many seasons ago, rose to power,” Eveningroot explained.
“Is that why they wanted you to shove me underwater? Because dead cats want us to?” Patchkit asked. Specklesong‘s eyes went wide in horror as she looked around frantically, as if hoping that no one heard him. Eventually, she let out a sigh of relief.
“Yes,” she mewed before leaning down and licking her son between the ears. “You need to be careful, okay? Not every cat here is trustworthy.”
When Patchkit was four moons old, he started to grow tired of just playing with his mom. Sure he loved her and the games she came up with, but he wanted new friends! So his parents introduced him to Boulderkit (kaz).
At first, the pair were tense with each other. They really didn’t like each other all that much. However, as the moons pressed on, the pair found themselves growing closer. By the time they were apprentices, they were best friends.
Patchpaw was apprenticed to a cream tabby she cat named Pollenpelt. To Patchpaw’s annoyance, the she cat was very into the idea of StarClan and the Dark Forest. Despite this, she was a very kind and encouraging mentor.
“She’s got the heart, but not the brains” Eveningroot explained one day.
When he and Boulderpaw were about eight moons old, his friend approached him with a secret. Apparently a she cat they trained with had fallen under suspicion, and Boulderpaw didn’t know what to do. Now, this was an apprentice that Patchpaw happened to fancy at the time, so he knew he needed to help her. But how?
A day or two went by before Patchpaw awoke in the middle of the night needing to make dirt. As he crawled out of his nest, he spared a glance at the she cat. He sighed and left the den, only to see the fresh kill pile illuminated by a ray of moonlight.
It was then that he got his idea.
The next morning, when Pollenpelt came to wake him up, he pulled her aside. Making himself appear nervous, he explained how moonlight seemed to always make its way into the apprentice’s den, and it would always fall directly upon the she cat.
His mentor, being extremely gullible, immediately believed him and went to the leader and the medicine cat. After convincing the she cat to move her nest in front of an extremely small crack in the den that he had managed to widen by dislodging a few rocks so that it would bathe her in moonlight, he sat back and watched his plan unfold.
A few days later, he overheard the she cat telling Boulderpaw that she was on the receiving end of a StarClan blessing.
The rest of Patchpaw’s apprenticeship included him helping Boulderpaw protect their clanmates, using his mentors gullibility and his charisma to help fake signs. He never told anyone what he did. It was better that way.
He and Boulderpaw got their apprentice names at the exact same time, both getting the suffix -strike for their fighting abilities.
The pair would continue their partnership of sorts, with Boulderstrike funneling information to Patchstrike so that he could fake signs. He became exceptionally good at it, being able to discreetly move rocks, feathers, and even fresh kill to convince other cats that the cat under suspicion had the favor of StarClan. He never did anything overt, and never tried to fake an omen, but he’d make it so most cats would be convinced that the suspicious cat was fine.
But then he started taking an interest in Warblerwing (c a n n a). The she cat was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cats he had ever laid eyes upon, so he started to court her. During this time, he stopped faking signs as often, and by the time they had become mates, he was only doing it if absolutely necessary.
Then Specklesong and Eveningroot approached him to tell him that they were expecting kits. Patchstrike was going to be a brother. That’s when he decided to stop faking signs altogether.
Boulderstrike picked up on this within a moon, leading to the pair having a massive fight. Boulderstrike accused him of giving into the pressure of the clan, and when Patchstrike tried to explain that he had other cats he needed to protect, he made it sound like he thought Boulderstrike didn’t care about anyone other than himself.
This fight led to the pair terminating their friendship.
A moon later, Specklesong gave birth to a she kit and a tom. The she kit looked exactly like their mom, skinny and leggy with massive ears and chocolate tortoiseshell point markings, and the tom was a flame point cat. The she kit was named Dapplekit, and the tom Frecklekit.
Patchstrike doted on his younger siblings and his mother, throwing a lot of his attention to caring for them and Warblerwing. He tried to ignoring the growing tensions, but sadly he was unable to and by the time his siblings were three moons old, Eveningroot was gravely injured in a battle with RedwoodClan. He survived, but his injuries left him with a permanent limp in his front left leg, forcing him to retire.
Devastated by what happened to the tom, Patchstrike, Frecklekit, Dapplekit, and Specklesong spent days with the tom, doing their best to cheer him up. During this time, Patchstrike realized how much he missed his best friend, but he saw how well Boulderstrike seemed to be doing and didn’t want to take that away. Plus his relationship with Warblerwing was growing more and more serious.
Right after Dapplekit and Frecklekit were apprenticed, Warblerwing approached him. To Patchstrike’s excitement, she told him she was expecting kits. After that, Specklesong moved to the elders den to be with her mate. At seventy two moons, she had been a warrior for quite a while and Patchstrike knew she needed the rest.
Two moons later, Warblerwing gave birth to three kits. Two she kits and a tom. The tom was practically a carbon copy of him, and he and Warblerwing decided on the name Sparrowkit (moony).
He was so excited when they were born, making sure his siblings and mother got to see them before he saw Boulderstrike. The tom’s mental health had plummeted recently, and Patchstrike missed him. So, he decided to extend the olive branch.
This turned out to be a great decision, as the pair became closer than ever, to the point where Patchstrike approached the newly named Minnowstar and swallowed his pride to request that the tom mentor Sparrowkit.
When his kits were four moons old, Dapplepaw and Frecklepaw received their warrior names. Around then is when he and Warblerwing started to have their disagreements. Warblerwing wanted to protect the kits from the political strife within the clan. Patchstrike wanted to tell them as soon as possible.
Patchstrike did relent however, only to eventually blow up at his mate when his kits’ apprentice ceremony rolled around and they were scared by the political climate. They slept in separate nests for a few nights after that, but reconnected quickly enough.
Their relationship has never been the same however.
When his kits got their warrior names, Patchstrike decided that maybe it was time to start thinking about getting back into listening for cats he should try to fake some sort of blessing for.
Recently, there have been murmurs of a rebellion. And Patchstrike has found himself quite interested.
