Whitewhisker
Redwoodclan
a fluffy white she-cat with blue eyes
warrior
she-cat (she/her)
twenty-one
Appearance
Whitewhisker has always been particularly pathetic in size and build. She was born a runt and never quite grew out of it. She is thin, lithe, but lacks muscle definition beneath her long fur. When wet, one can count most of her ribs without her fluffy pelt to hide them. Even with a thick pelt of fluff, Whitewhisker is still visibly skinny.
She is coated in pale white just as her mother, with no markings to interupt the snowy pallor of her pelt. Her fur rarely lays in a neat or well-cared for manner, always sticking up in awkward ways.
Her almond eyes are pale blue - a shade between Grass Nut flowers and Wild Blue Flax. The interior of her ears and her small, button nose are both warm pink. She long, wild fur within and sharp pointed tufts on the end of each ear.

Personality
+kind & generous +
What Whitewhisker has is everyone else's just as much as her own. If ever someone asked, she would give just about anything. Even those who take from her she rarely would think of too poorly. Whitewhisker's has never known a life where she did not have enough. She was always well fed and looked after, always coddled at RedwoodClan's metaphorical belly. Now a warrior, she still does not understand selfishness as a concept. She has found joy throughout her life by sharing everything with anyone who wants it. Her kindness knows few bounds whether they be borders, social groups, or otherwise.
+ helpful & cheerful +
Whitewhisker is aware of how she lacks in comparison to some of her more battle-ready high-achieving clanmates. Even within her own family, she has many renowned and powerful figures to look up to. Whitewhisker never despairs, for if she can help others, she is happy. Whitewhisker exists in a joyful state almost all of the time, floating around camp and helping anyone who catches her glance. She is rarely ever seen with a frown on her face, and whenever she is, it is fleeting, for she never stays down long.
- air-headed & dense -
Where Whitewhisker struggles most is her inability to stay focused on a single task. She floats through life as though a cloud, moving from one exciting or interesting thing to the next, never thinking ahead or regarding what she may have been doing a moment before. She lives in the moment and anyone who fails to stay an active role in her life at any given moment tends to end up accidentally forgotten about. Whitewhisker is perfectly capable of deep and complex thought, but communicating these things with others is usually unnecessary for her to feel content. While she is witty and perceptive in certain moments, it can be very easy for her clanmates to write her off as a clueless ditz.
- disorganized & unpredictable -
Because Whitewhisker lives so entirely within each moment, she rarely has time to put things in their place. It is unusual that she finds anything where she left it (usually because she does not remember where she left it). Not only do physical objects get lost in the mess of her life, but her relationships also can suffer from her accidentally neglecting them. She forgets when she agreed to do activities and rarely is on time for anything. Whitewhisker, finding joy even in this, leans into her spontaneous nature. She thrives in an environment where she can be the happy surprise in other people's lives, and thrives in spur-of-the-moment activities rather than those planned beforehand.
History
Father: Gorseflame
Mother: Icesong
Littermates: Gorsegaze & Freezingsky
Siblings: Mallowfrost & Snowtalon
Born on a quiet greenleaf night, Whitekit is still and cold. Alongside two healthier sisters, her mother resigns herself to Whitekit not making it through the night. Despite the odds and her poor health, Whitekit survives.
Born deaf, Whitekit does not learn much about the heroic acts of her father before his death, nor the sister, Frozenpaw, who was taken before her time not a few moons before her birth. Instead, she spends her kithood blissfully ignorant of the war on RedwoodClan's threshold, playing games with her sisters and endearing herself to the other queens.
Despite her inability to hear, Whitekit was assigned a mentor alongside her sisters. She was assigned to Hollowheart, a charming but barbarous warrior, as his first apprentice. He was a skilled combatant and a talented warrior on all fronts, but was flakey and unreliable, often abandoning Whitepaw to her own devices.
With Hollowheart's occasional direction, Whitepaw slowly began to prove herself a keen hunter. While she was largely unskilled in battle, she was particularly talented when it came to stalking and chasing prey. Her senses grew to make up for her lack of hearing, allowing her to keep up with her peers in most aspects despite her mentor's lack of influence.
Hollowheart disappeared from the clan suddenly, leaving Whitepaw without a mentor. With Icesong's request, Finchstar made Forestflight her new mentor. Forestflight was much harsher than Hollowheart and arguably just as dismissive, but did work to foster Whitepaw's strengths while ignoring her overall weak body. Despite having grown in a time of plentiful prey, Whitepaw still tended to be weak and ill since birth. She never seemed to gain muscle or weight in general, always being wirey and small. Neither of Whitepaw's mentors put forth an effort into building her strength, so Whitepaw's physicality stagnated, her light-footed nature providing her an edge in hunting but dooming her as soon as a combatant got their paws around her.
It was during the flood that Whitepaw was out with her mentor. She found a friend she had made drowning in the waters. At Whitepaw's pleading, Forestflight dove into the water and rescued her friend, Streamwhisker. Excited and unaware of any conflict remaining between clans, Whitepaw welcomed her companion into RedwoodClan to hide from the high waters. Eventually, Streamwhisker had to go home, but Whitepaw promised to see her as often as she could.
Whitepaw was made a warrior on her 14th moon, named Whitewhisker for her skill in hunting and tracking. Not long after, her mother and mentor both decide to leave RedwoodClan and journey into the tunnels. Whitewhisker is sad to see her mother leave but is happy that something has seemed to invigorate her mother and fill her with new passion.
As tension began to build between RedwoodClan and ThistleClan, seeing Streamwhisker at the border was growing more difficult. Whitewhisker didn't understand why her clan was so upset. Her mother had always taught her to share her mossballs with her sisters, and the elders were happier when she ate with them instead of leaving them to eat the prey she caught for them alone. Why couldn't the two clans be friends and just share the bearstones? It had been several moons since Whitewhisker had seen Streamwhisker before she found the tabby she-cat in her camp. Whitewhisker was so excited! Now she did not have to sneak around to see her friend. Even so, she struggled to empathize with the cats who wished to drive ThistleClan away.
For the first time in a season, battle cries erupted on the island. Whitewhisker hid in her den, head tucked in the moss so that she could not see the wounds her clanmates wore. It frightened her to see them so bloody, no matter whether they had won or lost. She only hoped that, with the battle over, the conflict would end and she would be able to go back to how everything was before.
