DAPPLEDLIGHT
REDWOODCLAN
cream spotted tabby with hazel eyes
warrior
transgender tom
23 moons
Appearance
Character Stature: Smaller than average, lithe and athletic, with long limbs that it seems he hasn't quite grown into despite his age.
Character Pelt: His fur is short and pale, dotted with darker spots that fade into a lighter underbelly. He is not the most well-groomed cat, as it has never concerned him much, and his fur has a tendency to stick out in random places.
Character Face: Long and angular, with tall ears. His eyes are hazel and full of life, he has light markings around his eyelids, and he is rarely seen without a jovial grin.

Personality
Outgoing (+): An extrovert to the core, Dappledlight thrives amongst other cats. He is easy to get along with, friendly, and talkative.
Intelligent (+): Quick-witted and sharp-tongued, Dappledlight excels at memorization and strategizing. He learns quickly and is of the full belief that there is easily something new to learn every day.
Loyal (~): His name might as well be "Doglight" for how loyal he is to his fellow Clanmates and his Clan. He will be your best friend AND defend you with his life! Although, his want to be around others may be annoying to some.
Oblivious (-): While highly observant about some things, Dappledlight spent so much of his youth devoting himself to his studies and training that he skipped out on some much-needed social cues. He absolutely CAN NOT tell if someone flirts with him, you have to tell him directly. He will never pick up on it, sorry ladies. He also doesn't always realize that not everyone knows the same things he knows.
Reckless (-): Dappledlight tends to throw himself whole-heartedly into situations without really stopping to think about them first, despite being a smart cat. This has gotten him into trouble NUMEROUS times in his short life.
History
Kithood: Dappledkit was born to Paleripple and Spottedtail. He was their only kit, and when he was only a few days old, his father Spottedtail was killed on a hunting patrol after falling from a tree. Dappledkit never truly knew his father, although his mother spoke fondly of him. Paleripple, in comparison, was overbearing and much too protective, and did her best to make sure her kit, who she believed to be a molly, grew up to be a perfect little princess. Dappledkit wanted nothing to do with that and instead romped in the mud and dirt with the other kits in the nursery until it was time for his training.
Adolescence: Dappledpaw threw himself into his training as an apprentice with fanatic fervor, eager to learn everything there was possibly to know in the world. He bothered his mentor with constant questions, but he was a quick learner, although clumsy and awkward at first. He had to grow into his long legs and lean frame, but with time, he rose to the top of his class, so to speak. The attacks on RedwoodClan from LichenClan scared him, but he outwardly hardly changed, preferring to try and keep everyone's spirits up rather than wallow in despair.
As Dappledpaw's young frame grew more and more into an adult cat, he became more and more uncomfortable with how cats treated him, especially toms. It wasn't that he disliked the attention, moreso...it was wrong. He felt wrong. He had never felt like a molly, like his mother kept claiming him to be. So, Dappledpaw took it upon himself to announce to the Clan that he was no molly. StarClan had simply made a mistake! He was actually a tom, surprise! Whatever the Clan decided to throw at him then didn't matter, because he finally felt comfortable in his own skin. Paleripple took the news with confusion, but...she supported her kit from the sidelines.
When the sickness overtook the camp, Paleripple fell ill and nearly lost her life. Dappledpaw's mentor felt he was doing fine in training, and allowed him to spend extra time with her. As a consequence of being around a sick cat so much, Dappledpaw fell ill as well, but fought the sickness off alongside his mother and came out the other side stronger for it.
Adulthood: Dappledpaw earned his warrior name when he was 15 moons old, becoming Dappledlight. On his vigil, he nearly had to stuff his own paw into his mouth to keep from chattering to himself and the pawful of friends that had joined him up in the branches, as it was hard for him to keep his words to himself. But, finally, he was accepted into RedwoodClan as a full warrior.
Dappledlight has since proven himself to be a skilled warrior in his own right. He doesn't quite understand LichenClan's reasoning behind wanting to keep the Mooncave to themselves, and although violence isn't his first choice, he is ready and willing to fight alongside his Clanmates for the good of the islands.
Dappledlight wants to make the refugees feel welcome while they're staying in RedwoodClan camp, so he often sits to chat with them about their days, or says hello as he's passing by. It never hurts to be a friendly face!
