Bat-thorn
THISTLECLAN
long haired black Tom with green eyes
warrior
tom
24 moons
Appearance
Bat-thorn cuts an immediate imposing figure, standing as equally tall as he is long. His presence is hard to ignore despite his almost always bored, nonchanlant gaze and meandering way of walking without a care. His charcoal fur makes him enormous stature seem even larger, forever fluff out in a disheveled mess, for Bat-thorn really couldn't care less for his looks to impress others. He gets the exact amount of attention he wants. Not an ounce of white or smoke gives graces his coat, giving way to an almost definition-less black void.
His face is as a harsh one to look upon, for he almost always has a sour look. He has a bad habit of looking down at others down his long muzzle. If he didn't always have such a look upon his face, one might considered the boorish tom feminine in the slanted tilt of his eyes, the swoop of his cheek. But above all else, his ears stand proud alongside the tip of an ever present tooth, his namesakes.
Despite his immense size upon first glance however, Bat-thorn is still noticeably lean and narrow in bone structure. Underneath the misleading fur lies a boney structure, left over from a childhood of too little and too harsh beginnings. It should be noted that when wet, he is thin enough for one to understand that something...is not how it should be.

Personality
++ Undyingly Loyal & Oddly Charming
There's a certain aire about this tom. It could be the way he walks, or the way he looks at you as if he already knows your deepest, darkest secret. He carries himself in a way that exudes some strange, aloof charm. Is he suave? No, not really, he can be rather crass at time, but the way he looks at others, with a crooked, relaxed grin. The slack faced, bedroom eyes that are prone to staring too long. He's confident in everything he does in a way that isn't exuberant or over bearing, but just enough to let you know; he knows what he's doing, whether is be a task at hand, or what his roguish, flattering mannerisms may be doing to you. He's not above a good romp and loves to let others know he's always DTF. And he's pretty good at it, word, and experience, say. While a dark character when it comes to the majority of his life and how he goes about it, Bat-thorn has proven to his tight knit, chosen family to be undyingly loyal to a fault. He would walk through the Dark Forest for them at all costs.
// Morally Grey & Self Preserving
Bat-thorn is not above getting dirty to get the job done. He has little qualms about the frivolous things like honor and bravery. He's more focused on the end game and overall picture, thus isn't afraid to break some bones, spill some blood, or break some hearts to get to that point. If something means a better outcome for him, then Bat-thorn has all the interest in the world to see it through. He's been known at times to abandon things and even clan mates if it means he has to go through any extra trouble or inconvenience.
-- Callous & Cruel
Bat-thorn is well known for his sharp tongue and blunt nature. He honestly does not give a single fuck as to what his words may make others feel. He goes out of his way sometimes to belittle those around him, and has a penchant for kicking the hornet's nest if only to cause a little strife in those around him so he can sit back and watch the show. A dark side of him takes pleasure in seeing others squirm.

History
Batkit and Quailkit were born to Blueglaze in the prolific time between New Leaf and Green Leaf. In what should have been an easy childhood, Batkit and Quailkit were often left to their own devices and Blueglaze offered very little in terms of care. The question of their father was never asked, and honestly never really thought of. Blueglaze had always been very promiscuous with multiple partners, and from the very beginning, she was not happy to be a parent. But no one would take her two kits, who were born in silence and from an early age, showed slow development and strange tendencies.
As the brother and sister grew and needed less of her milk, her appearances in the nursery became fewer and far in between. Blueglaze beIt was around this time that Lily's rogues struct, and with the chaos that followed, Blueglaze disappeared and Batkit, alongside Quailkit, were abandoned. They wandered for a few days in the chaos of LichenClan's attack before finding themselves back in camp. Batkit would have happily stayed away, but his sister Quailkit was frail and scared so they returned home. With no mother to claim them, Thievingstar dead, and Stagstar now in charge, the two kits were trundled to the nursery and taken care of by the clan as a whole.
Shortly before their apprenticeships were set to start, Quailkit became gravely ill. Batkit begged to be by her side, but afraid he may get ill too, Shadepool limited his interactions with his sister. Despite the medicine cat’s best efforts and Batkit’s prayers and wishes, Quailkit soon passed away. The experience left Batkit even more bitter and permanently marred his faith and loyalty to his clan.
When Batpaw became an apprentice, he was assigned to Spruceshade. The experienced warrior quickly proved himself capable of channeling Batpaw’s angry, callous nature into a ruthless warrior and hunter who shied from no task no matter how dirty, convoluted, or rough it may prove to be. Batpaw proved himself to be a calculating, patient individual capable of achieving his goals through timely patience and sharp, keen eyes.
Sometime in his apprenticeship, Batpaw found a kindred spirit in Lionpaw. Honestly, it started out as an all out hate fest that grew into a begrudging friendship. Lionpaw proved to be the only individual in their apprentice group capable to taking the verbal abuse and equally powerful physical licks exchanged behind closed doors that Batpaw liked to throw about. A kinship, or bromance if you would, started between the two who quickly found an odd appreciation in each others…pigheadedness.
Both toms ascended to their warrior status in record time, earning their names of Bat-thorn and Lionthroat. Overall his ascension to warrior was lackluster and most of the moons following mostly uneventful. During the most recent flood of ThistleClan, Bat-thorn found himself stranded in enemy territory alongside a small cluster of his clanmates. Poppy's words may have convinced Bat-thorn of younger days to join her, and he may have briefly thought about it, not attached to his clan and all, but the thought of leaving Lionthroat without an explanation gave him doubts. Eventually Bat-thorn was able to return to his clan only to find out they'd been forced to abandon their tunnels for Bear Stones. Annoyed, but ultimately uncaring, Bat-thorn resumed his assigned duties in his normal halfhearted, bored manner. The night of RedwoodClan's attack saw the tom fleeing back to the pine forests, grateful for darkness of his pelt as he was one of the lucky few to not end up in a scuffle. He liked the Pine Forest and it's darkness too much to fight for the open ground of Bear Stones.
