Sky Where
Thunder Roars
Tribe of Floating Stones
long furred calico she-cat with yellow eyes
stone-guard
cis female
51 moons
Appearance
Sky is slightly larger and taller than the average cat. Her years as a stone-guard have made her muscles hard and lean, giving her strength, though her strength is usually only made known when you witness her defending the tribe against predators or aiding prey-hunters in their hunts. She can be strong and she can be gentle, in the way a mother would be.
Sky’s musculature is not visible due to her long, wispy coat. Her fur is soft and she usually tries to keep herself well-groomed, but it still gets tangled in spots. She has a mostly black pelt, though her neck is ringed with patches of orange and there is a large striped orange patch on her left side. Other spots of orange are brindled throughout her coat. All four of her paws and her chest are white. The left side of her muzzle is white and a thin white blaze runs up from her nose to in between her eyes. Sky has small spots on her body, mostly on her legs and sides, where fur is missing from when she was burned during the fire. However, they are hardly noticeable due to her long fur. She also has a few small predator-related scars across her body, the most noticeable being a wide scar on her right thigh.
Sky’s face is a wide, roundish rhombus shape. Her ears are pointy and slightly large, and she has a muzzle that’s on the smaller side. Her face is framed by her extremely long, furly whiskers that are particularly sensitive to touch. Her eyes are wide and a bright yellow. Her nose is black and pink along with her pawpads.

Personality
Sky is very motherly and kind. No matter how dysfunctional of a relationship she may have with her family, she still defends them and can be fiercely protective. Since rejoining the Tribe, she is very subdued and her focus is on herself, her daughter, Star, and self-preservation. She stays on alert and can be jumpy and timid due to her experience during and since the fire. The experience was traumatizing for her and she is slowly healing from it. Sometimes she wonders if she’ll ever feel normal again. Despite her anxious feelings, she seeks to become closer to her friends, family, and tribemates.
+Resourceful: Sky was very involved with the Tribe in the past. Whenever they had trouble with coyotes or illness, she was there and always searching for ways to help her tribemates. When she lived on her own with Star, she helped heal her wounds and take care of both of them. These experiences have given her a mindset of preparedness and an instinct to know what to do if something goes wrong. She has a motherly instinct and is generally ready to come to someone’s aid if they need her.
+Curious: Sky has always been an inquisitive cat, more so when she was younger. Her curiosity sometimes got her in trouble but has always made her want to learn. Due to this, she has knowledge of herbs, her family, and the tribe’s history. She is curious about many things, including the natural world and the Clans. Her curiosity helps her gain knowledge that she might not have otherwise. However, her curiosity has been slightly subdued as of late.
-Anxious: Mostly due to the separation from her tribe and the fire, Sky has become anxious. She worries if another natural disaster could befall her tribe or if something bad might happen to her remaining family and friends. Most of her attention is focused on herself and her family, and continuing to heal from the fire. She only does her stone-guard duties as is expected of her and not because she wants to do them. This makes her disconnected from the rest of the tribe. Even though Sky fears bad things that could happen, she would not hesitate to put her life on the line if her friends or family were in danger.
-Timid: Sky’s trauma has made her timid. Part of her fears conflict and she’s mostly quiet. Unfortunately, this has turned her into a bit of a people-pleaser and sometimes ends up with her wants and needs being dismissed or other cats walking all over her. She has a harder time standing up for herself than she did when she was younger, though has no issue verbally defending those she cares about.
History
Mother: Forest that Shelters Blossoms
Father:Stag Who Bears Twelve Tines
Uncle: Boar Who Breaks Boulders (sloth)
Siblings:Mist that Clouds the Land, Bracken Growing from Grace
Former Mate:Flint Beneath Rushing Water
Children: Star Shining on Blackened Petals (silver), Moonlight Broken by Burning Branches (lightning)
Grandchildren: Foxtail Carried by Wind (captain)
2019: Sky Where Thunder Roars was born alongside two brothers, Mist and Bracken, to Stag and Forest. When Sky is only three moons old, Mist, Bracken, and Forest all die of an incurable sickness. Sky was old enough to remember the event, and she remembers grieving them, but the event is hazy to her now. Stag and his brother, Boar Who Breaks Boulders, take on raising Sky. Stag becomes very overprotective of Sky, but that doesn’t stop her adventurousness.
When she became a to-be, Sky was very social and made quick friends with the other to-be’s, namely Hemlock (wish), Fog (moony), River (rain), and Flint. She felt much more at home with them than she did with Stag or Boar and the to-be’s became very close. They got into mischief together that Stag didn’t approve of. Sky didn’t approve of his overprotective nature, and so she rebelled by seeking out danger such as antagonizing predators.
2020: Sky’s behavior wasn’t known only by her father and uncle. She shirked her training and didn’t start training as a fledgling stone-guard until her sixteenth moon. When her friend Hemlock brought strange cats– Clan cats– to the Tribe, Sky was deeply curious about them and almost envied Hemlock for being part of something so important. She wanted to be a part of exciting things, too, but her adventurous nature could never afford her that. Flint, knowing that Sky is behind and wanting to see her succeed, offered to train with her. Sky mostly only agreed because she found him attractive.
She ends up graduating on time at eighteen moons with her friends. When they made the journey to the Stone that Never Ends together, Sky spent a lot of time in her thoughts and realized that she had deeper feelings for Flint. She also recognized the power of her ancestors and began to take the world around her more seriously. Such as, when the Clan cats returned to the tribe with lungwort. She offered to help tend to the garden and developed an interest in herbs and looking after the island that she and her tribemates call home. Her mischievousness dulled a bit as she took her role in the tribe more seriously.
2021: When Creek, the teller of the time, decided to send a patrol to visit the Clan cats, Sky wished to be chosen to go, but she was not. Flint kept her company and the two trained often together due to the coyote population on the island increasing. No matter how courageous Sky was, she found herself unable to confess her feelings to Flint. Creek’s death and the fog that blanketed the island afterward made Sky wary. She worried about the cats that had been sent to the Clans and did her part to be sure her tribemates were safe in the short time they didn’t have much leadership.
When the patrol and Fog returned and Fog became the next Teller of the Tribe after sharing his dreams, Sky fully supported and trusted her friend. She began to think negatively of anyone who didn’t support him.
2022: As the coyotes became bold and her tribemates became divided, Sky tried her hardest to support Fog and also defend her Tribe. She had a very close encounter with a pack of coyotes around this time and this experience emboldened her to confess her feelings to Flint after a pep talk from Hemlock. Flint reciprocated the feelings and Fog ordained their den joining ceremony. Sky was overjoyed.
Sky became pregnant around the same time Sumac began rising to power. Nothing could make Sky support Sumac, but Flint was less stubborn and attended Sumac’s secret meetings out of curiosity. She heavily disagreed with Flint’s decision and the pair began to bicker and argue often.
Flint was injured by coyotes right before Sky gave birth to her daughters, Star and Moonlight. He lost the use of one of his hind legs and blamed Fog for it. As tensions rose, Sky felt deeply torn over continuing to support Fog or being supportive of her mate instead. She tried to mostly focus on her kits, but she knew that she didn’t want them to grow up with Sumac as their Teller.
Before Sky could see what would become of her friend or Sumac, a fire started on the island after a long, dry summer, ignited by a storm. Sky’s family den was close to the forest, and a blazing tree fell onto it, trapping Star, Moonlight, and Flint inside. She is only able to rescue Star from the den before the growing flames force her to leave. They retreat to the northern part of the island, far away from the Tribe stone.
With Star badly injured, Sky decided to stay in a makeshift burrow and wait for someone to come and find them. No one came after days of waiting, so Sky tried to use her limited herb knowledge to save Star’s life. Her daughter lived.
2023: Sky remained with Star, refusing to leave her side until Sky could trust that Star would be fine if she left her alone. She wondered if Flint and Moonlight are still alive, deeply hoping for them to be, and focused on caring for Star.
It wasn't until the snow begins to melt in newleaf that Sky decided to attempt to return to the Tribe. She happened upon the Tribe Stone during a meeting, where Sumac was acting as Teller and she watched as he demoted Talon and sent cats away to be imprisoned. Flint and Moonlight couldn’t be seen in the crowd. Horrified, she returned to Star, believing her mate and her other daughter to be dead. The pair continued to live in isolation where Sky grew depressed.
Several moons later, a patrol came upon Sky and Star and convinced them to return to the Tribe. Though hesitant, Sky agreed, knowing she couldn’t live out the rest of her days alone.
When they make it back to the Tribe Stone, Sky finds Fog back in his rightful place. She rejoiced reuniting with him and other old friends, and was startled to find Moonlight alive with a daughter of her own.
2024: Sky struggles to reintegrate herself back into the Tribe after living on her own for so long. She seeks to mend her relationship with Moonlight and old friends.
