Longhair blue mackerel bicolor tom with yellow eyes

Appearance
Sturdy and compact of stature, one would be hard pressed to believe that Gustkit was ever the runt of his litter. His bones are broad and imposing, and his form will only grow larger as he matures. Despite being rather stocky, his flanks remain streamlined, with his long fur flowing easily around his frame. Useful for navigating the stone corridors of his home. With training, the tom will become a formidable opponent on the battlefield. The tom easily comes up to the height of his older brothers, having inherited the long legs of his father. One of his most distinct blemishes includes the lack of right hind-leg. The tom has a hobbled gait, with his left leg having more of a hopping motion rather than a normal step.
Gustkit's sizable frame is emphasized further by his long fur. The feathers are soft to the touch, maintained by his eager and attentive eye. It wraps around his flank and shoulders before flaring up into a wispy, snowy white mane around his neck, chest, and chin. While the majority of his fur is a deep stone-grey, the fur on his chest, chin, and paws is snowy white. Across the grey parts of his flank run darker mackeral stripes that dance across his pelt and band his legs. Despite the care Gustkit takes in his appearance, his fur has a tendency to ruffle as though teased by a stray wind -- likely his mother's inspiration for his name.
Two golden eyes stare with a hawkish light from his face, imbued with defiance and haughty eagerness.

Personality
Despite being the youngest of the litter, there is a pluckiness apparent in Gustkit's very figure. Once his interest is piqued, the tom is rarely stirred by obstacles and debacles and instead bears his teeth at it with a ferocity unnerving for one his size. A more timid tom with his fire would have been content to fade into the shadows, unrecognized and unwanted, but Gustkit exchanged this meekness for a burning desire that makes everything else pale in its wake. A highly driven tom, gustkit is watchful. Not one to rest on his haunches, the tom maintains a constant vigilance with the news that reaches his ears. he will not pass up an opportunity to better himself in his family's eyes, rare as these chances are. In the light of opportunity, the tom is rarely idle. Nearly ambitious to a fault, gustkit believes that success only comes to those willing to pursue it.
Even from a young age, Gustkit keenly feels the weight of the beliefs and expectations on his shoulders, and approaches life passionately. His earnest demeanor is endearing to those around him in many ways, and his joy is infectious. Even the most jaded of warriors will find themselves endeared by his idealism. Unfortunately, he prefers to speak frankly about all matters in Lichenclan, and his honesty can leave very little room for sensitivity. Gustkit is uncompromising in his discussion of tradition and religious topics. With a tendency to say things as they are, he may be shunned by those seeking sympathy or nuance.
Rarely in lichen-clan are actions delivered through haste or impulse, except when emotions run high, and tempers are short. Gustkit is aware that he is constantly being watched and, as such, seeks to avoid careless and rash behavior. From time spent observing and emulating his grandmother's methodical and composed nature, gustkit has grown into a reasonably deliberate tom. Rather than acting on impulse, the tom makes use of careful thought. In conversation, he is well-spoken and polite. Gustkit is nothing if not direct, and his tendency for bluntness and assertion means he can dominate a conversation about something he feels strongly about. Despite being the youngest kit in the litter, gustkit can also be the most outspoken. Topics of Starclan and inner-clan politics are two hot topics with him. he believes that tradition should be valued and that the flower family should be better represented within Lichenclan. Challenging his beliefs is an easy way to rile him up.

History
00 moons
GREENLEAF 2023 | In the wake of the flood, Lichenclan finds itself displaced from their home and forced to take up residence in the birch forest. Nevertheless, the nursery fills with the sound of kittens and their doting mothers, with four litters in all. At the head of the nursery stood his grandmother, Caveflower, matriarch of the prestigious Flower family. With a bloodline nearly as old as the Heron line, the importance of image weighs heavily on all the members. Unfortunately, Rotflower and Driftfeather's coupling is not as harmonious as it seemed. Unprepared for the responsibilities of motherhood, Rotflower's presence is scarce, leaving her grandmother Caveflower to take up the reigns. As the youngest in the litter, Gustkit finds his presence dwarfed by his four older brothers. A frustration overtakes him in the wake of his neglectful mother's parting, leaving him with an unshakable feeling of inferiority. In a combined litter of seven, he is practically undistinguishable from his siblings, and his missing leg hinders his physical activity. Seized by sudden ambition, Gustkit aspires to set himself apart from his siblings and gain the respect he was robbed of by birth.
