Crescentpaw
redwoodclan
Black/red tortie with a half tail and pale hazel eyes
apprentice
she-cat
Rhian's irl cat
8 moons
Appearance
Despite still not being full grown, Crescentpaw still has the signs of Redwoodclan's genes. She is big boned, which right now looks a bit funny since she hasn't quite filled it out yet, but will give her a stout but strong look when grown. Unlike some of her clanmates though, she shows her manx genes very clearly, with a a slight extra slope to her back from longer legs, and a belly which seems to hang just a little bit, due to the extra loose skin in that area. She would probably look even more round if she was fluffier, but thankfully her fur is not as ridiculously long as some of her clanmates, though it is still thick. Oh, also she only has about half a tail, the result of the manx gene shortening it.
Crescentpaw's face is round and soft, giving her an even younger look, though it will fill out and be more oval in time, with short small ears spread wide apart on her head. Her eyes are wide and round, a pale spring green highlighted with yellow. Her pelt is darker than many of her clanmates, with less and far more black to her tortie pelt. Her front legs from paws up halfway up her leg are solid black, like gloves, but the rest of her pelt is mostly evenly brindled with ginger.

Personality
+Friendly
+Dedicated
=Loud
-Easily Manipulated
-Clingy
Crescentpaw has always been a happy jovial girl, and despite the things that happened in her kithood, thinks that it wasnt quite so bad. It was the time when she felt closest to other cats, in that case her brother, and she did and still does value those bonds very strongly. At the same time, due to her parent's relationship problems, Crescentpaw has a slight insecurity about her relationships, and is constantly trying to make sure other cats like her. When she finds a cat who does like her and tolerate her, she has a really hard time moderating her energy level, wanting to constantly be with them. Her clinginess and insecurity tend to drive other cats away, making her self-esteem worse.
It doesnt help that naturally she is a loud and boisterous cat, sometimes quite dramatic, but since her mother spent much of her kithood firmly disciplining her, Crescentpaw has tried to tamp herself down. As a result she is either at two extremes, loud and emotional, or apologetic and withdrawn.
In order to make up for her feelings, she is very dedicated and hard working, hoping that if she just works really hard, then other cats will like her. This means she often volunteers for the hard work even if she doesnt like it, and will go above and beyond to try and please others.
Unfortunately, Crescentpaw's parents problems with each other bled over into how they treated their kits. Crescentpaw was much like her father, which annoyed her mother. So Crescentpaw's mother took it upon herself to reshape and change her daughter, by crtiquing and fixing any actual or perceived fault. She bound her daughter to her with promises of love if she could just follow the rules. But now as an apprentice, her mother has completely stepped back, leaving her without any structure and support and withdrawing that love she desired. So Crescentpaw is attempting to attach herself to others, to find someone to follow. Which is not great either, because she's so used to following, she doesnt necessarily make sure that the person she's following has her best interests in mind. She trusts most cats, and doesnt seem to think they could be lying to her or manipulating. Because at least they are paying attention to her, and any attention is better than none.

History
Lobeliafur and Frognose were older warriors that were known for their accidents in love life. They could never handle a relationship for long, and both had a broken heart or two left in their wake. In a way it was fate that they should come together, and once they had come together it was chaos. Their relationship lasted longer, kind of, because it was a very on and off relationship. To the dismay of the couple and many cats around them, Lobeliafur found herself pregnant, and the couple had another falling out, as neither of them really wanted to raise the kits.
Unfortunately you cant really ignore pregnancy, and Lobelia carried and then gave birth to her kits, one male and one female. She named them after butterflies, because she wanted nothing more than to fly away at that moment. But after a stern talking to by another queen, Lobeliafur realized she didnt really have a choice. There and then she put all her energy, positive and negative into raising them. She fully intended to turn them into perfect little future warriors for the clan, loyal and obedient, and nothing like their father who was just the worst. She completely missed the irony of her thoughts but it wouldnt matter, because as a mother it was her job to raise the kits. And she did, she never outright abused them, no, she kept them close and out of trouble, feeding them careful words of love mixed with criticism.
Despite her attempts of control she never managed to completely get her son under her paw, but Crescentkit... well she was a bit easier to manipulate. Crescentkit of course, didnt really know any different. Sure the other queens were nicer to their kits, but their kits weren't as loud and bad and she was, so of course they weren't corrected as often.
Well the closer it came to apprenticeship, Crescentkit was more and more excited, ready to go out and train to become a warrior. She didnt expect her mother to suddenly and abruptly withdraw, that she would say that her "job was done" and leave Crescentkit and her brother to their own devices.
