RUSSETSTRIKE
REDWOODCLAN
A large ginger tom with grass green eyes.
WARRIOR
MALE
48 MOONS
Appearance
- Russetstrike is a red pelted tom. He carries himself with an air of confidence bordering on arrogance. He is quite a typical Redwoodclan cat, sporting long fur, dense leg muscles and he is tall. Though even he is taller than most of his clan mates. He sports a tabby M on his forehead, but the stripes on his body are almost nowhere to be seen. Russetstrike’s face boasts a striking handsomeness, with a shorter yet angular face and muzzle, grass green eyes, and white fur dotting his mouth and chin, as well as highlighting certain parts of his face. This white also appears on his paws and underbelly, though this is rarely seen through his thick fur, he also boasts quite a long and fluffy tail. This tom is quite a heavy one as well, although it is almost completely muscle rather than fat. His paws are quite small, especially considering the size of his body.
Personality
+ Charming- Russetstrike has a quite uncanny way with other cats. He’s extremely charming, while not being outright friendly, rather he is extroverted and yet he still manages to draw others to him like a moth to flame. He does absolutely love conversing with others, but likes to be approached rather than starting these interactions. Whether it’s his appearance or his confident stature, most cats will be intrigued by the way he speaks so little.
+ Perceptive- Russetstrike takes the opportunity of speaking little to examine his surroundings, and take in little nuances others may have trouble noticing. This is an asset to both himself and possibly to clan mates. Say he’s at a meeting and noticed a certain clan glaring at his, he would shelve this away in his mind for later. Or perhaps he would notice something else, like after being injured, how a medicine cat wrapped and treated his wound.
+ Loyal- This tom has quite a typical Redwoodclan trait, loyalty, he would often wait until he’d get maybe two pieces of prey rather than one to eat for himself, and he’d certainly give his life for his clan. Although this is not to be mistaken for blind loyalty, if he thought something were unfair or wrong, he would either note this to himself or bring it up, whether that be to the leader or a friend.
—Manipulative- While he is a generally charming cat, he will sometimes take advantage of this. While mostly an unconscious and negative consequence of being well liked, he will sometimes manipulate others. This may be a clan mate, a love interest, or a friend. It may be something simple like convincing a friend to go out hunting with him even if they’ve already been on a patrol or two that day. It could be something worse, if he does not check the way he’s speaking.
—Stubborn- Russetstrike is an extremely stubborn cat. Another, quite typical, trait of his clan. It can be positive if it’s within the right context, such as waiting for one more mouse before heading back to camp, or helping a friend feel better when they may be feeling in a slump or worthless. But of course, once taken to an extreme, it can often be about his pride or confidence in his intelligence, and it can ruin relationships or cause accidents.
—Pedantic- one consequence of studying his surroundings is the fact that he sometimes reads too much into a situation, stemming from slight paranoia and this trait is never really a good one, it will only cause trouble. While it could be something like, him noticing a cat looking at him and thinking they are really glaring. This could also cause great trouble if he assumes a cat has ulterior motives or hostility towards his clan, he may become suspicious or hostile.

History
- Bunnyheart was an extremely kind and gentle soul, though, a little bit eccentric and not the prettiest cat of the bunch. This meant she was more a hopeless romantic than a successful one, until she met Foxpounce. Now, he wasn’t new or anything, she just hadn’t taken a moment to truly appreciate how handsome he was, nor how smart his mind was. Bunnyheart’s feelings were immediately turned to him, and he was interested enough in her, finding her comments entertaining. So they settled down, and before long, they had three little wriggling kits.
Russetkit, an almost copy of his mother, but with his father’s striking looks and red fur. Thrushkit, plain and brown like her mother, and Rosekit, a beautiful red molly. The parents were happy for a time. Then of course, it turned sour, Foxpounce found Bunnyheart’s company less funny, and found her too plain for him, his affections were stolen by a she-cat named Splashpelt. This molly was absolutely stunning, and unfortunately caused Foxpounce to leave his mate.
This absolutely devastates Bunnyheart, and she can barely stand to look at her own children. She feeds them, as it’s necessary, but limits her interaction with them to a minimum. This causes each kit to react differently Russetkit and Thrushkit stop trying to interact with their mother later in their kithood, and Rosekit never quite gives up on her mother. This leads into their apprenticeship.
The three siblings are made Rosepaw, Thrushpaw, and Russetpaw, each excited to move into their new den, and for two of the three, away from their parents. Both Thrushpaw and Russetpaw are given similar-thinking mentors, as the tensions are rising between Redwoodclan and Lichenclan, and they are both trained in battle heavily, often sparring each other. This causes them to become a bit more distant from Rosepaw, as she is being trained in tracking and hunting primarily. All the siblings are fearful, though, of what the future holds.
Around ten moons of age, their father has his first litter with Splashpelt, their half siblings are both quite cute, and all the siblings eventually make up with their father while visiting the kits. The kits are named Crowkit and Amberkit, and they live quite a normal kithood. Finally, the three siblings are made warriors, Russetstrike, Thrushclaw, and Rosecloud. While this should make them excited, it instead makes them more concerned, as the tensions between Redwoodclan and Lichenclan only worsen.
A year passes without much happening to the siblings, their younger siblings are made warriors, Crowfur and Amberfeather, right as battles start to break out. Russetstrike sees his first battles, and is horrified of the bloodshed, this causes him to become extremely, sometimes overly, analytical, while he has more of the brains, his sister, Thrushclaw, swipes first and asks later. This proved fatal, as Russetstrike saw her die in battle.
Russetstrike goes quiet for a bit, fulfilling the duties but only really going through the motions, his sister was his best friend, Rosecloud attempts to comfort him, but he has a hard time wrapping his head around what had happened. He eventually gets up and brushes himself off, spending more time with his sister and father’s children.
His mother dies of a combination of white cough and starvation in the winter after Lichenclan retreats, as she hasn’t taken good care of herself in years. This hits Russetstrike as well, but not to the same degree. He continues with his life, one of the oldest warriors, and he thanks Starclan for surviving as long as he has. This brings us to the present, where he is finally wondering if he should settle down, seeing as it’s been a bit quieter, and he’s always wanted to have his own kits, but never quite found the time. He’s starting to become more optimistic slowly.
